3-DAY EXERCISE ACTIVITY ANALYSIS
What are your current exercise habits?
My current exercise habits are going to the gym at least three days per week for one hour. I focus primarily on cardio because it helps to burn fat. I complete thirty minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training everyday because I want to lose and tone! I find it easier to go to a gym as opposed to walking around my neighborhood. I tried that and felt discouraged, not quite sure why. But the gym is working so much better for me.
According to SuperTracker results summary page, what were your credited minutes, total expended calories, physical activity score, and physical activity assessment results? Provide a screenshot of your results summary.
The amount of minutes I exercised for four days were 360 minutes. I spend 30 minutes on the stationary bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 1148 calories daily or 4592 calories over the four days (not sure why the tracker did not include this). I guess I did it incorrectly because I was not provided a physical activity score or assessment results. I could not locate the SuperTracker results summary page.

What everyday changes, if any, might you make to increase the amount of energy expended in your day-to-day activities?
There are multiple things I could add to my day to expend more energy. For example, I could take the stairs, instead of riding up the escalator – walk up the escalator. I could park my car farther away and walk. While watching television, during commercials I could do leg lifts or crunches!
What types and amounts of exercise would work best for you?
I believe that I am on a great track now. I struggled with working out so now that I can get in one hour per day – I feel I am doing great! I enjoy working out in…...

Three Day Diet Analysis

...Three day diet analysis SCI/241 11/5/2012 Staying healthy is a hard thing to do, especially when you do not really have the time or motivation to pay attention to what you eat. I have a habit of buying and eating a lot of frozen foods, which includes frozen pizzas, beer battered fish filets, Mac and cheese, and garlic bread. I also cook some boxed dinners like hamburger or tuna helper to save time on cooking. In my daily diet there are usually not a lot of fruits and vegetables in my daily diet, unless there is some kind of tomato sauce or side’s corn or mixed vegetables. When I compared the three day analysis I found out that I do not have much of a pattern in my daily diet. Sometimes I eat a large amount of grain and other times I may eat the right amount of veggies. There has been a steady amount of bad fats in my diet and this plays a huge role in why I am a little overweight. I consumed 1738 calories in a day; my diet is not at all what the Pyramid recommends. I consumed: 1 ½ ounces of grains and the target is 6 ounces, 1 ¾ cups of vegetables and the target is 2 ½ cups, no fruit and the target was 1 ½ cups, ¾ cups of dairy and the target is 3 cups, and 2 ounces of proteins and the target is 5 ounces. My diet has more fat than recommended and I......

3 Days Diet Analyst

...Kimintang Sidibeh BI 213 Three Day Diet Analysis According to the food pyramid, my diet is horrible considering what I have consumed in these 3 days. It shows that I need to start eating more, and better quality foods. My sugar intake is too high and should be reconsidered. Possibly I could swap out processed sugars for natural sugars; such as in fruit. It is obvious from the records I have provided that I do not take in as much (if any) fruit that one should be consuming on a daily basis. Thus, not only am I depriving myself of vitamins, I am also depriving myself of the fiber needed in order for my digestive system and metabolism to work as necessary. I will have to incorporate more whole grains with fruit and vegetables to act as roughage, as going to the bathroom proves difficult for me- most likely this is why. I was astonished by how many carbohydrates I take in too. Eating a lot of carbs can add to the blockage/ movement in the bowels so I need to consider decreasing the TYPE of carbohydrates that I eat, cutting out white and processed breads and grains, replacing them for whole grains and wheat products. The only milk I intake is with my coffee and tea. Although I have four hot beverages a day with around 2 tablespoons of dairy, I am aware that this is no-where near the recommended 2 cups a day. On a good note however, I do not drink many sugary drinks at all- if any. Coffee, tea and water are my staple liquids therefore the sugar that I eat equals......

3 Day Activity Anaysis

...3-Day Exercise Activity Analysis Nicole Pehrson SCI/241 May 10, 2013 Thomas Phillips In this paper, I will review my 3 day activity analysis of physical activities in my life and address ways to better this part of my life. I always feel like I am busy and always on the go. I work full time, school, and of course cleaning, cooking, and keeping up my house hold. As much as I feel I am always moving and on the go, I feel like I should be in better shape, but I’m not. This course has helped me learn to be healthier and in better shape, with not a lot of changes. My daily exercise habits are pretty minimal. I start in the morning with stretching then getting ready for work. I then come home and clean the house and cook. I then try and take an evening walk or jog. I just got my Insanity DVD’s back so I have started doing that as well. It is a 40 minute workout that I do in the evening. I enjoy doing this rather than walking or jogging, especially since it is getting so hot outside. I do not get a lot of exercise at work because I sit at a desk all day, but I make up for it when I get home by cleaning and my evening jog. One day a week I deep clean my house. This seems to really get my heart pumping because I dance around the house while doing so. I am always busy, but honestly I think I have more energy because I am always doing something rather than sitting at home. The super tracker results summary page showed that within the 3 days I tracked my exercise,......

3-Day Diet Analysis

...3-Day Diet Analysis The 3-day diet analysis was very interesting to me, and has given me some very useful and challenging information pertaining to my health. I know I do not have the healthiest eating habits, and after using the SuperTracker I plan to do my best at changing my diet. My current eating habits are not very bad, but not very good or healthy. I do not eat breakfast, but when I do I eat breakfast I eat food that is for lunch or dinner. I know that is not good, but eating some breakfast food makes me feel sick. Honestly, I like to eat breakfast food at night. Lately, I have not wanted to eat breakfast at all. So when lunch time comes around I am starving and I sometimes eat more than I should. I also stuff myself when I am eating. I have this mentality that I should eat everything on my plate, even when I am full. The recommendations I received from the SuperTracker pertaining to my servings from each food group were mostly under the serving size. I received a good report in the protein category. I love to eat meat. The vegetable category was okay in some areas, but needs improvement. I also need to improve in the calorie area. Apparently, I was under my 1800 calories, but the empty calories I was over the limit. As I mentioned before my eating habits are not good at all. I can adjust my diet by eating the appropriate nutrients. I need to eat more fruits because my results were not good in that category. I can......

...Three Day Diet Analysis Hans, Ronald J. SCI 241 November 11, 2012 Stacey Nagy Three Day Diet Analysis Growing up I have always given my dad a hard time for his weight until about four years ago when he pulled out his wedding tux and I tried it on and could not fit in it. I am currently six foot four inches and weight approximately one hundred and fifty pounds so you can share my amazement when I found out that I couldn’t fit into my two hundred and fifty pound father’s tux. My dad got married when he was twenty two and I just turned twenty two, so I believe that it is about time to start being more a wear of what I eat. Being that I am currently underweight, I haven’t had to discipline myself when it comes to eating too much. My problem is that I do not eat enough of the right stuff. My three day food tracker account has shown me that my eating habits are horrible to say the least. I only managed to meet one daily food group target and that was only for two of the three days. I fell under the recommended calorie allowance on all three days as well. It is obviously that my diet needs help. Super Tracker recommends that I ingest 3200 calories per day. The highest I achieved in the past three days was only 2353 and that was because I almost ate an entire twelve inch pizza for dinner. Of the six classes of nutrients, Super Tracker recommends that I eat ten ounces of grains, four cups of vegetables, two and a half cups of fruit, three cups of dairy, seven ounces of......

Food Intake-3 Days

... Food Intake – 3 Days Edgar Burgos Cruz University of Phoenix SCI/220 Human Nutrition September 12, 2013 Prof. Pierre Edvrard Pharel Food Intake – 3 Days During this week, I Edgar Burgos had to conduct a food intake for 3 consecutive days. This paper will describe my nutritional endeavor for the past three days. I will provide different aspects of my nutritional needs and an in depth analysis on how proteins fats carbohydrates and fiber take part in my everyday diet and what are these functions. This is intended to broaden my views of a healthy lifestyle, and how to achieve it through a variety of food groups. During the 3 days food intake, I ate chicken, steak, beans, eggs and turkey which provided proteins. For carbohydrates I had: wheat bread, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, milk, apples, pasta, and white rice. Finally for lipids I had: vegetable oil, olive oil, regular butter and olives. My recorded protein, carbohydrates and lipids intakes are high compared to the recommendations of the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) for my body measurements. The DRIs are recommendations for the amounts of energy, nutrients, and other food components that healthy people should consume in order to stay healthy, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and prevent deficiencies (Grosvenor & Smolin, 2012). Since my carbohydrates, lipids and proteins are high, I recommend eliminating the steak and any parts of the turkey and chicken which produces excess of fat. I would add more organically......

3 Day Analysis of the Diet

...realize how much junk, un-healthy, bad, and hurtful foods we put into our bodies every day. Throughout the Diet Analysis Project, I was able to look into my diet and examine what I was eating, what types of nutrients I was getting and how much . I did an eating log for three days, one weekend and two weekdays to really look into my diet and see if I was eating healthy or filling my body with unwanted bad foods. I then compared my recommended levels of nutrients for my DRI and the actual amounts I was receiving throughout the day. I needed to see if the nutrients I was getting would allow for my full DRI values but not overdue my nutrient levels. I found some very interesting numbers that pertained to my diet that were good and then some that were pretty bad. Some nutrients that are close to deficiency include: carbohydrates, vitamin A, Vitamine C, and saturated fat. These outlines of foods that I have recorded, is pretty close to my daily routine, and therefore are pretty accurate. In my diet I was under average in vegetables and fruits mainly and way over average in grains, protein, and empty calories. For instance an empty calorie would include added sugars and fats mainly. When we break down my diet we see a couple things, I am low in my colaric intake by about 300 kcal, and in protein I overshoot by about 60g. In a lot of places in my diet I very sufficient in foods: fat, cholesterol, omega 3, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, B12, folate, iron, zinc, and sodium. Some of......

...DIET AND EXERCISE ANALYSIS 1 Diet and Exercise AnalYSIS DIET AND EXERCISE ANALYSIS 2 My current eating habits contain a lot of empty calories. I do, however eat plenty of the daily value of fruits and proteins. The food tracker showed that I should be eating about 2000 calories a day while breastfeeding. When I put int the foods I am eating each day, it was under the daily recommended count. The tracker recommends I eat 6 ounces of grains, 2 1/2 cups of vegetables, 2 cups fruit, 3 cups dairy, and 5 1/2 ounces of proteins. I did not eat enough grains (4 1/2 ounces), but I eat over the recommended protein for the day at 13 1/2 ounces. I did not eat any fruits and I was under the recommended vegetables and dairy for the day. I had only one cup of vegetables and 3/4 cup of dairy. 3 Day Nutrition Analysis

...What everyday changes, if any, might you make to increase the amount of energy expended in your day-to-day activities? To increase the total amount of energy expended in daily activities the time and amount of daily active exercises must be increased. The more vigorous the exercise performed is, the more energy is expended. All leisurely activities should be taken care of throughout the day, but the vigorous activities should be planned in order to incorporate all muscle groups and cardiovascular exercise. What types and amounts of exercise would work best for you? Among the exercises listed the ones that would work best for me would be walking, jogging, and playing sports. Also weightlifting and aerobic exercise would help to expend energy and burn calories. Riding a bike could also be an option as this could be enjoyed by the whole family. Can the activities be performed year-round? If not, can you suggest alternative activities and locations for inclement weather? Though bicycling cannot be performed at the home without a stationary bike, running and jogging can be done standing in place or on a treadmill. During favorable weather conditions these activities can be enjoyed outdoors. However, during inclement weather these outdoor activities can be put to a halt. During these times there are still many options. With personal gyms opening at an exponential rate, having the right equipment and an educated trainer has become an easy commodity to acquire. Also, many......

...3-Day Exercise Activity Analysis 1 Nutrition John Smith SCI/241 September 4, 2013 Janice M. Johnson, Ph.D. 3-Day Exercise Activity Analysis 2 Here are some ways that can increase energy expenditure and activity levels to help lose weight and fat without having to go to a gym. If you have a physical job like in the construction industry then you are already starting off right. You could try to work harder, perform more of the physical tasks by yourself rather than use a machine and do it quicker. If you have an office job, you could park the car a little further from the office than usual and walk the extra distance. You could take the stairs instead of the elevator or even try jogging up the stairs. At lunch breaks, you can try to spend 20 minutes eating lunch slowly and then taking a brisk walk outside for 40 minutes. Instead of calling or emailing your colleague, walk over to him or her. Housework is a great way of spending energy because it is something that needs to be done and the feeling of having a nice clean house is also something to feel good about. Make every week cleaning a spring clean by cleaning thoroughly in hard to reach places and taking everything out and dusting off the shelves. Cooking and preparing your own vegetables and meat, as well as making your own bread or cakes by hand instead of buying them pre-prepared is also a good way of working out. It will......

3 Day Analysis Diet

...Super Tracker to track my food for the last 3 days and comparing it to what should be eaten was an eye opening experience. My eating habits at this time include eating quite a bit of fast food and Haitian food. I skip breakfast most mornings and have only a cup of orange juice. I may eat a piece of fruit and then I work 3 or 4 hours before I get a snack of maybe a piece of fried chicken from Mc Donald and ice cream. Later, I may drink a cup of tea and by the time I make it home after 6 p.m., I usually eat until I go to bed. I eat chips and dip, candy, cookies, and more fruit, if I have it. I know this is not a healthy diet and I plan to use the food tracker to continue to track my meals and make healthier choices. The recommendations I received from the Super Tracker included a diet of no more than 2000 calories a day. My plan included less than 258 calories from empty calories ounces a day of grains, including substituted whole grains for refined grains at least half the time. I am to eat 2.5 cups of vegetables a day, including dark green, red, and orange vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and carrots. Two cups of fruit a day are included in my meal plans. The Super Tracker recommends using a wide variety of fruit, by adapting my choices to seasonal fruits. Three cups of fat free or low fat milk is recommended as well as low fat or fat free cheese and yogurt. Protein foods are recommended at 5.5 ounces a day or 8 ounces a week. Seafood should be......

...not include dietary supplements. 2) Keep two 24-hour logs of your activities. These should be the same two days on which you record your food intake! 3) Generate an eating plan and analyze your food intake and physical activity according to MyPlate online (www.myplate.gov). 4) Go to “My Reports,” provide the info requested, and print out your food intake and physical activity along with your personalized plan. 5) Using your results, evaluate the quality of your food intake and your activity level. Detailed directions: 1) On the diet logs attached, record everything you eat in two 24-hour periods, carefully noting amounts. Remember to keep track of beverages and condiments, too. The more accurate you are in recording amounts, the more accurate your analysis will be. For help in judging portion sizes, you can use the “Size Up Your Servings” handout available in the Oncourse Resources folder (i.e. 3 oz of meat is like a deck of cards…). 2) On the activity log attached, write down every activity you do beginning at 7 a.m. on one day and ending at 7 a.m. the following day. Remember to include all activities of daily living such as dressing, showering, driving a car, reading, etc. Include work and recreational activities, and include weekly activities that don't occur every day. The log gives you an example of how to convert weekly activities into hours/day. 3) Generate and eating plan and analyze your diet according to the SuperTracker......

And the website showed that I need to eat more than what I have been. According to the Food Guide Pyramid I am well below the suggested amount of intake of calories that I am needed. I really don’t have an exercise habit I work around the house every day and have a seven year old son that really keeps me moving and doing things. Granted I walk a couple of blocks to the mall about every other day. And when my son is in school I walk back from tanning which is four blocks. I had about 6.5 cups of grain in which for me they recommended 6 cups. Vegetables I always go overboard because I love vegetables. I had over 5 cups they recommended only 2.5 cups. Went way over. Milk I only had about 6 cups got to love milk which it is good for you. They only recommend 3. Fruits I had zero cups don’t really eat fruit. And meats and beans 4 cups only 1 cup below what is recommended. The way I plan to modify my diet is to try my hardest to get the recommended amount of servings for each food groups. I need to increase my fruit intake and reduce the intake of milk and vegetables that I eat. I am going to try to eat small amounts more frequently instead of eating one big meal. ...Week One Assignment: 3 Day Diet Analysis SCI241 April 29, 2012 Week One Assignment: 3 Day Diet Analysis My current eating habits are not the greatest, to say the least. Instead of eating healthy for breakfast, such as oatmeal, fruit, and juice, I usually eat a couple of waffles doused with maple syrup and peanut butter. And I have a Pepsi. Lately I have been trying to eat yogurt with granola instead, but I also just realized that the granola is not helping me in the calorie situation. For lunch, if I am at work, I will usually order something from the cafeteria which almost always includes French fries. Sometimes I will order chicken strips, other times a French dip. Lately, I have been trying to bring leftovers from dinner to save money, and I am hoping that helps me a little bit in the calorie department. But again, I always have at least 20 oz. of soda with lunch. I have started bringing a water bottle with me to work so that I am not always relying on soda for my liquid. For dinner, a lot of the time I eat out, which I know the portions are always huge at restaurants, but I still eat it all anyways. I have tried cooking at home more often, which also (hopefully) saves some on calories. With dinner I usually have a couple cans of Pepsi. I have noticed lately that I am gaining weight also, which is very frustrating. I had been at a point that I was losing weight, and I think it is because I was not eating breakfast, and now I make sure that I do. ......
