...Group: Diamonds Strategy Term Project 2-3 MGT 695 – Strategic Planning January 26, 2013 Ralph Lauren Corporation Module 2: Mission, Goals, and the Strategic Management Process 1. Search for a mission statement for the firm. Not all organizations publish such a statement, so alternatively you can look for enduring principles and values upon which the firm seems to be anchored. This information is often available at the firm’s website or is contained in its annual reports. You may also interview a manager of the firm or contact “investor relations.” (“The mission of Ralph Lauren is to provide quality product, bringing different worlds together and inviting people into their dream and vision. They are the true innovators of lifestyle advertisements that tell a story and the first to create stores that encourage customer participation in that lifestyle.”) 2. Identify the major goals of the company. Ralph Lauren has 3 major goals: • Build and extend the brand by uniquely showcasing the world of Ralph Lauren through advertising and marketing. The Ralph Lauren company also plan to expand and extend the Ralph Lauren lifestyle through new products, in new categories, and in new parts of the world. • Keeping its specialty retail is also extremely important. Polo continues to increase the amount of exclusive or limited-distribution product in its Ralph Lauren stores. They also plan on making significant advances in how it operates its retail stores by adding experience......

...Research Strategy 1 Research Strategy 2 Research Strategy Paper All my life I have been thin because I was so active in dance and drill team. As I grew older I was able to stay thin working retail for 5 years. I was on my feet and unloading merchandise for eight to ten hours a day. I was able to eat what ever I wanted and not see the effects. When I quit retail I moved to a desk job but kept my eating habits the same. It has slowly caught up with me. I have put on twenty pounds in two and half years. It doesn’t help that as people get older their metabolism slows down. I also live alone and eat out a lot. My problem would be to eat healthier. I go to the grocery store and don’t know where to being to find foods that are healthy for me. We all know fresh fruits and vegetables are healthy but what about all the food in between. For example: meats, soups, desserts, TV dinners, low fat and low sodium products. Just because a product may say low fat, does that mean it is good for me? Information Gathered I wanted to gather information on healthy food choices. I don’t want any quick diet fixes. I want to make a lifestyle change. I want to reach my goal weight but be able to keep that weight from ever coming back. I started my search at the University Library. I selected the database ProQuest for health information. I first started by searching “eating healthy” but that just brought me to the results for people with certain diseases and how they can eat......

...Management Strategy Paper Blue Beacon Truck Wash operates more than 100 truck wash locations across the United States and Canada. Each location is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Blue Beacon has more than 30 years of experience, with easy access to major interstates and highways. Blue Beacon provides fast and friendly service. Blue Beacon Truck Wash will achieve 15- 20% annual growth through existing businesses with theadded revenue projected in introducing public vehicles to our existing services. We would provide fast and convenient and affordable service to the public. My analysis of growing the business in this industry is to implement a plan to restructure the curbside appeal to entice more business to travelers and local residents. A clean and presentable store front would need a brighter appearance, provide a clean look inside and out. Presentation is key to every business, friendliness, attitude, and performance will be an asset to the business and help to generate revenue. Bright lights and extra patrol will enhance security and ensure everyone’s safety because this type of business has a reputation of attracting unwanted visitors. People not machines will wash trucks, motor coach, passenger cars, trucks, and tractor trailer ridges. Analyzing and studying the competition in two areas in the business that we aren’t currently exploring will allow me to develop a plan in competing in the area of touchless washing systems and a mobile service in each......

Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper

...Developing Strategies There are a few strategies that can be helpful for creating effective communication and collaboration among certain individuals. These individuals come from a diverse background, and they have learning styles and personality traits that vary. It is a hard task to meet each learning style during one project, but individuals need to learn to adapt. For example, a visual learner must learn to adapt to writing notes during a lecture. In this paper I will develop strategies to help me, as a logical learner/thinker, communicate and collaborate well with other learning/personality styles. The Visual Learner The learning style assessment states that I am a logical learner; this means that I like to brainstorm ideas and create an outline. Being in an online class, I would be able to create an outline of ideas that the team members have come up with and post them on the computer for everyone to see. Individuals are able to post questions and responses on the computer; this is a strategy that will help visual learners keep up with what is going on. The Kinesthetic Learner A kinesthetic learner must be able to work everything through hands-on experience. I believe allowing this learner to be the one to type up the final version for an assignment would be beneficial. This will allow the individual to read the final paper while typing it up; therefore gaining knowledge from hands-on experience. The Interpersonal Learner This learner will definitely benefit...

Every day I wake up and have to complete numerous jobs that are very overwhelming. I have to get my first child off to school, the second child to daycare, go to work for an eight-hour shift, pick my children up and tend to the household chores such as dinner, laundry, bathing, and cleaning. Once all of the family needs are taken care of I can then switch to my schoolwork before going to bed. I then have to get up the next day and do it all over again. You could ask dozens of people that question and you would get dozens of different answers. Everyone has a different reason for being stressed out and they all have different ways of working through it. There is no true way of defining stress because it has so many different meaning to everyone. To me stress is something I deal with in my day-to-day life. Whether it is because of my home life, trying to write a paper, paying bills, or something as little as doing the dishes. To somebody else, stress could be because of the people at work, or just work itself, wrong instructions, or even phone calls. Dealing with stress is something we all deal with differently but we all have to do it and some do it better then others. The information I am going to obtain about stress is how to reduce it in my day-to-day life, also what I can do to help maintain my stress levels so it does not have an effect on my mental and physical health. Blue Ocean Strategy Paper

...Blue Ocean Strategy Paper Blue Ocean Strategy is a book written in 2005 to provides readers the ability to no fight against their competitors brands but rather develop ones brand in what some would call a neglected or unusual market place. The book was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as a best seller, along with numerous other recommendations and acknowledgments from industry giants. Blue Oceans was written by two authors with the intent to show that companies can succeed not by battling competitors, but rather by creating ″blue oceans″ of uncontested market space (Brooks, 2013). When examining the Blue Ocean Strategy one must take the time to understand the thought process fully. There must be a willingness to abandon the practices and strategies that are commonly thought of today as the norm and amerce oneself into the Blue Ocean Strategy. The Blue Ocean Strategy is a methodology that encompasses the theory that there are two oceans. The first being a red ocean. The red ocean can be described as the common businesses that are seen every day. Within the red ocean there are boundaries and limitations that are accepted in industry and competition is clearly defined. While blue oceans in contrast denote all the industries not in existence today, the unknown market space, untainted by competition. In blue oceans, demand is created rather than fought over. There is ample opportunity for growth that is both profitable and rapid. In blue oceans, competition is......

...MKT 421 Week 4 Blue Ocean Strategy Paper Blue Ocean Strategy - Introduction The blue ocean strategy in marketing is a unique approach to building a customer base. Rather than try to compete in a crowded marketplace with existing companies, a blue ocean strategy looks to build an entirely new market segment that has not other existing firms. With the rapid growth of technology and globalization, the importance of a blue ocean strategy has grown in recent years. The following essay will analyze the blue ocean strategy and offer suggestions on how it can be employed in the modern business environment. What is a Blue Ocean Strategy in Marketing? Companies must consider the four Ps of marketing when developing a new offering, which include product, placement, price, and promotion. In order to compete successfully, it is necessary to give consumers a certain value proposition. For example, a firm can offer a product at a lower price or at a higher quality than what is presently offered by other firms. But what if a firm could avoid having to deal with competition altogether? This is exactly what the blue ocean strategy attempts to do – create a new marketplace that is free of competitors. Marketers build an entirely new product or service that is currently unknown to consumers. It is necessary to thoroughly educate the public about the new product in order to gain interest and confidence. Once this has been completed, the new product will be positioned in point that......

Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper

...Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper As we know that everyone is unique and different, the same goes for the uniqueness and difference in their learning styles and the role of their personality type, when it comes to learning communicating and collaborating within a team. That is why different strategies for effective communications and collaborations need to be created for groups of individuals with different learning styles and different personality types. According to the book, Becoming a Lifelong Learner (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007) three of the many different learning styles are: interpersonal, intrapersonal and verbal-linguistic. Beginning with one of the different learning styles, in specific the verbal-linguistic style, a good strategy for effective communications and collaborations with this learner, is to make sure you recognize the different characteristics of this learning style. For example students with this learning style like to write, they enjoy telling stories, they like to read, they express themselves clearly, they are good in negotiating, and like to discuss topics that interest them. Based on this, a verbal-linguistic learner will require assignments that require writing papers, and book reading, just to mention a few. On another learning style like the intrapersonal learner, some of the characteristics of this student are that he needs quiet time to think, this student is interested in self improvement, he understands his......

The need to learn, explore, and better ourselves we need to communicate with each other to satisfy this need. Since people are different, each one has his/her own personality. That personality and situation will dictate the method of communications, or the methods needed to present a idea or project to another person or group. The understanding of how different personalities interact with one another will allow to us to figure out which the best way to communicate and relay information. There are a lot of different personalities in which some categorized as Organizer, Adventurer, and Giver (Carol Carter, 2007). Learning styles are unique too same as the personalities some of these styles are Logical Mathematical, Interpersonal, and Verbal linguistic (Carol Carter, 2007). All these come to play on how we communicate. To talk more details about the different styles of learning and different personalities as listed above...

...Blue Ocean Strategies MKT 421 February 2, 2015 Strategy and Positiong Paper for StressLess: A Fitbit Product What is innovation? By definition, it is a new method, or idea that revolutionizes the current standard. Innovation is paramount to success in a competitive market. A company can choose innovation in the current market, or use a red ocean strategy. This strategy is to take a current product or process and improve upon it. Another option businesses have is to endeavor for a blue ocean strategy: the strategy of creating a new market. A blue ocean strategy takes the market to a new level. A new product, or a new business is invented in a blue ocean strategy. Blue ocean strategies are vital in the business cycle, as the blue ocean represents the new, uncharted territories in business. Without blue ocean strategies, society would never make advance leaps in technology. The world would have received the cotton gin, as it was an improvement on a current tool. But would the world have received the printing press? The computer? The wheel? Currently, society is in a technological upswing. Blue ocean strategy moves were common when technology was evolving into the common, household use that it experiences now. With technology becoming so common, the red ocean strategy has taken over the blue ocean strategy seen previously. Blue ocean strategies are being seen more in societal and cultural convenience rather than mechanical devices. While it is expected that a blue ocean......
