The Best Moments in My Life My favorite time of the week it Is definitely Thursdays at five forty-five in the afternoon, because that’s the time my last class of the week ends, also it’s the time when can relax and spend time with my family and people that I love. The first reason that I love five forty-five Thursdays, is the end of my last class of the week. After spending almost six hours at Valencia every Thursday, I look forward to see on my cell phone Five forty- five even though I still have to do homework and study I know that I do not have to think about going to Valencia for the next three days. My last class its two hours and forty-one minutes long, and I really think it is too long so I really look forward for this great time. Another reason that my favorite time of the week is Thursdays at five forty-five is that at this time I can relax and spend time with my family usually my mom works in the morning, and sometimes she works at night, so I really do not have time to spend with my mom. Nevertheless, the weeks that she does not work at night after I get out of class, we go shopping or we go to eat so we can catch up with all the things that happened to us that week. Also, I spend time with my little sister; I love to help her with her homework or even when she has school projects. Although Thursday it is not officially the weekend for a lot of people, for me it is. At five forty-five I can say that my three day weekend has officially begun, at this time I can stop thinking about all my classes for that week, also I can relax and I have all the time to spend with my family and people that I love. I would definitely say that…...

Economic Development Strategies

...How do the two main economic development strategies relate to economic growth/ development strategies and based on that discussion, what is actual today with regard to economic development? Development Economics Arman Poghosyan Yerevan, 2011 Growth and development are usually discussed in the same context while the goals of each are very different. Growth is mainly the process of expanding the size of community through the use of natural resources, economic resources and land. While development, on the other hand, is the process of improving living standards of community. Growth is critical for any community, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to development. Though usually there is no development without growth. One way to develop without growing is through two main economic development strategies, which are import substitution strategy and export promotion strategy. These two strategies were used by many countries to develop their economy. The choice between these two competing strategies is often difficult and subject of discussion of policy makers. And this choice often can be crucial. Import substitution strategy promotes domestic industry by substituting externally produced goods and services. Generally, countries applying import substitution strategies start with producing goods that don’t need an advanced technology. These goods usually are basic necessities such as food, water and energy. This......

Database Modeling

...Database Modeling Kelli Clipp Business Systems Analysis INF322 Arman Kanooni February 10, 2013 This paper discusses database modeling and one tool that can be used for the process. The tool I’ve chosen is based on the material in our textbook and article ‘Modeling for the future’. Database modeling is the process of software engineering which allows for the creation of an information system. In the article ‘Modeling for the future’, they compare database modeling to constructing a house (Carreon, Wang, & Watt, 1996). This comparison is based on the fact that one would use a blueprint when building a house and database modeling can be considered as the same concept. A data model is in essence a blueprint or a plan for the database and without it the database may not be very well built, as with any program, house or building you need a plan. There are several tools available for database designers to utilize and the key is choosing the tool which is right to be used that will meet all the requirements of the database to be created. In the article ‘Modeling for the future’ they discussed and compared products from 1996, and although this article appeared to cover the four key products for database modeling at that time, the market has......

Research Crtique Part 1

...Bolander Laksov, & Arman, 2012, p. 109) It is known that working in a PICU that nurses rely on each other and what they perceive as pain in a child may not be actual pain. Overtime clinical knowledge is developed with different encounters with patients and their families. The nurses need to focus more on their individual learning practices to a child’s pain starting on day one of admission to the PICU instead of waiting when the child is actually in pain. The nurses could then identify their true pain level knowing baselines. This study was significant due to any child in a PICU setting has the inability to communicate their level of pain and their needs. That complicates the pain process with the nurses having to judge their behaviors, expressions and vital signs by using their knowledge of pain in a critically ill child. Purpose and Research Questions The purpose of the study is for nurses to gain clinical knowledge of pain development in children in a PICU and gain the role as facilitator for pain management. The study utilized the qualitative method using semi-structured interviews in all the PICUs in Sweden (N=3). The study included thirty registered nurses with twenty seven being women and three men. They used tape recorded interviews that lasted 20-60 minutes in length. A semi-structured interview guide with questions influenced by Benner and Wrubel and Benner, Tanner, and Chesla were used. Management

...Cranston Supply Budget Mike A. Howard INF 336 Project Procurement Management Dr. Arman Kanooni June 1, 2014 Granston Supply Budget This week’s assignment consists of a case study of the city of Graston. From the case study I am to create a project supply and materials budget based on the information in the case study using the ‘Current Year Q-3’ data found in Exhibit 2 and Exhibit 3. Also included in this assignment will be an explanation on the importance of a materials supply budget and the impact of the budget on the supply organization. For any successfully business or organization there is an emphases placed on the supply budget which a lot of times will determine the success or failure of a company. Robert Simons of Harvard University published an article in which he gave a brief explanation of a budget it stated “A budget is an ex ante formal statement, generally determined by negotiation and approved by management, of the resource inflows and outflows expected during the budget period. Thus, it is an explicit contract outlining expectations between superior and ^subordinate” (Simons, R. 1988). Every organization needs to have a vision, goals and a plan without those three elements they risk certain failure. So for the material supply budget of any business it has to start with a vision of what they (the company) is trying to achieve. Secondly there needs to be a plan or steps on how they will (the company) reach their goals. For all business the need...

...symptoms (Heath et al., 2010, Jurado-Martín et al., 2010, Abraham et al., 2006 and Lorenz et al., 2006), the progressive dependence associated with the evolution of the disease (Chio et al., 2008, Blinderman and Cherny, 2005 and Daneault et al., 2004), uncertainty regarding the future (The et al., 2001 and Clark, 2002), being a “burden” to others (Chochinov et al., 2007 and McPherson et al., 2007) and outstanding issues that the patient has left unfinished (Ando et al., 2008 and Williams, 2004). Some authors have claimed that patients who suffer from a serious illness (or one with a poor prognosis) respond by experiencing a personal transformation regarding their way of viewing life and human relationships (Chio et al., 2008, Arman et al., 2002, Arman and Rehnsfeldt, 2003 and Nissim, 2008). The meaning given to both the individual's own losses as well as the disease itself is also relevant, as is a consideration of the phase of the life cycle that the patient is passing through (Daneault et al., 2004 and Williams, 2004). The analysis of the participants’ responses to the various questions of the semi-structured interview allowed the identification of the principle, “Realise that life is short.” When this discovery occurs, one observes in the participants’ answers various manners of responding to this threat: “revaluating life”, “opportunity for growth” and “resignation/acceptance”. The emergence of disease causes a change in the mind-set of individuals regarding how they......

Types such as Diet Coke which at first was meant to appeal to younger women you were trying to lose weight. But recently it has been used by men 18-34 as well who were trying to stay more on the healthy side and who were going away from the normal Coke. English

...“My Unforgettable Experience in English” As we all know, lessons, experiences, encounters, and conversations in English are not always confined to the corners of the classroom. We take our knowledge-hungry English-conversing brains out and interact with the world with it. As usual, people try to fit in, and since vernacular is all the rage nowadays, they usually end up speaking Bisaya. One such case involves my classmate and friend, Arman James Kho, where he himself tries to incorporate his Bisayan vocabulary into everyday sentences, sentences such as, “MA’AM TESS! *insert name* IS A BAYOT!”, or who can forget the uncountable times when people make fun of each other with the use of English, implying only the “Caterpillar” kids use English, while the “Butterfly” kids use Bisaya. Now let me just stray off the subject of English experiences, but seriously, teasing or treating people differently is NOT a good thing to do. I can attest to the fact that people usually do this to others, since I have been a victim countless of times. This is quite unforgettable for me. However, my experience with the teachers isn’t as negative or grim. The teachers accept me with my English handicap (especially Ma’am Tess, may God bless you), although I sometimes may need to dumb down my sentences, for their sake. Usually, though, we communicate through a wonderful set of vocabulary-words, since each list of vocabulary-words for each teacher really depends on his/her subject. And that has been...

Total Quality Pioneers

...first to integrate statistics engineering and economics just to name a couple. W. Edward Deming is well known for helping Japanese companies apply the Shewart statistical process control whom he just happened to study under. Joseph Juran directed most of his work at executives and the field of quality management, he also helped to improve Japanese quality. He developed the “Juran Trilogy” for managing quality: Quality planning, quality control, and quality improvement. Phillip Crosby used his knowledge to develop four absolutes of quality, quality defined by conformance to requirements, system for causing quality is prevention not appraisal, performance standards of zero defects and measurement of quality is the cost of nonconformance. Arman Fegenbaum stressed a systems approach to quality (all organizations must be focused on quality). Costs of quality may be separated in costs for prevention, appraisal, and failures (scrap, warranty, etc.) Kaoru Ishikawa developed concept of true and substitute quality characteristics. True characteristics are the customer’s view. Substitute characteristics are the producer’s view. The proper match between true and substitute determines customer satisfaction. Genichi Taguchi promoted the use of parameter design (application of Design of experiments). Goal: develop products and processes that perform on target with smallest variation that are insensitive to environmental condition. Because of our economic struggles at this present......

Los Angeles and Armenian Power

...citizens operate the business structure under the radar and communicate activity to older members who still reside outside the United States. Technology is a huge part of how the AP gain wealth and stay under the radar when facilitating the Internet crimes and fraud operations. Kandel (2011) states: The 99 Cents Store scam consisted of AP member recording account numbers from magnetic strips of credit and debit cards swiped into the keypads by patrons and used to create counterfeit cards to withdraw money from victims’ bank accounts. The organization made $2 million from this scheme; authorities allege (The Rise and fall of the Armenian Power Street Gang, para. 16). The AP is such a powerful criminal organization that high ranking member, Arman Sharoperosian along with his co-defendant, Angus Brown was discovered operating a fraud scheme from prison. This is a criminal group that has power in numbers nationally and internationally, recently more than 100 members were arrested and indicted because of the FBI’s, Eurasian Organized Crime Task Force’s, and other law enforcement agencies’ undercover two-year sting operation, Operation Power Outage. Although some members are spending 30 years in prison, this criminal enterprise is still on the rise and will do anything to obtain power and wealth. Analyze the relationship of the group to its past and to its current role in Prohibition, drug syndicates, political corruption, and other illicit activities. Armenian Power was......
