Someone who is efficient at giving presentations may have many reasons for being efficient. It could be that they are very knowledgeable about the information they are presenting or they may be really confident about their ability to speak in front of large crowds. Something else that may add to them being efficient is the knowledge of whom the audience is and how to communicate effectively to different groups of people. Proficient communicators understand the different characteristics of the audience, the diversity in groups, and the appropriate communication channels. For starters, the presenter must determine who the audience is that they are presenting to and their different roles of the audience. These roles would incorporate the primary audience, the secondary audience, the auxiliary audience, the gatekeeper, and the watchdog. When initiating an in person meeting one must first consider the audience in which they are addressing and the material that needs to be addressed. I have been asked to present an in person quarterly sales result meeting in front of a group of managers, employees and customers. ...Effective communication is vital in any business position. For sales people, communication is even more imperative because of their interaction with customers and employees. In this paper I will discuss the distinctiveness of an audience that would be required if I was presenting a quarterly sales information meeting to a group of stakeholders, which would also include the managers, sales people and its customers. I will also be discussing the communication channels that would be most suitable for specific meetings and some concerns that I may need to keep in mind because of the diversity of the audience attending the meeting. When preparing a presentation of quarterly sales information you will want to discuss different topics, particularly pertaining to the corresponding audiences. Face-to-face presentations are common in sales and usually involve speaking to a large group of individuals. For instance, a face-to-face presentation might include showing graphs, spreadsheets and/or a PowerPoint presentation to the group of people from the company that has investments within the company. One consideration that you should consider most important with this channel of communication is that it allows the salesperson conducting the presentation to adapt to the audiences needs. If the meeting is being held for the stakeholders of the company, the presentation would be held differently than if the information or products were being presented to the managers, salespeople or even......

They should also have knowledge of salespersons productivity reports. In addition managers should have information regarding products, prices, special sales and the results and performance of each. The managers are responsible for the quality of the sales staff, and some of the information given in the Quarterly Sales Report could be deemed as confidential and only for the eyes of the management team. As far as salespersons is concerned, they should only have information about new products, changes in pricing and descriptions of old products, what is being sold, prices and special sales offers and, if provided, information and demographics......

Communication must always be designed with the audience to which you are communicating in mind (COM/285 Syllabus, 2010, p. 8). You must consider the characteristics of the audience, the channels used when communicating, the diversity of the group being communicated to, and by lastly determining how effective the communication was to that group. The characteristics of the shareholders must be considered when communicating sales information.
