Mind and Body Health One of the statistics that got my attention from the website was that high levels of hostility have been found to predict heart disease more often than high cholesterol, cigarette smoking, or obesity (Health Psychology, November 2002). This interested me the most because I always thought that high cholesterol, cigarette smoking, or obesity would be more predictive than hostility when it came to heart disease. Who would’ve thought that mental health can affect one’s cardiac and vascular health. In my personal opinion, the awareness of these facts may motivate a hostile person to decrease factors that lead to hostility thus reducing the predictability of heart disease. This statistics is very important in society because it will increase awareness that hostility is directly proportional to the predictability of heart disease. There are so many factors in today’s society that may cause hostility. Examples include war, politics, ethical and medical disputes, and death that lead to denial in family members. To be more specific, it could possibly be due to hereditary factors as well. Knowing this fact may lead researchers to pinpoint specific factors that cause hostility, reduce antagonism, and reducing the predictability of heart disease. Doing this is just one way of improving our society’s wellbeing. One approach I might use to approach this implication would be to further conduct more investigation to further understand this statistic. There is always research that is being done to fill knowledge gaps. After reading this fact, I was very surprised of this statistic and was curious as to why I didn’t know. From this, I think it’s important to spread awareness of this fact and explain it to others around me. These kinds of statistics are significant and may reduce the risk of heart disease. When I start to stress out, my body…...

...role of the family and community (National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities, n.d.). With these thoughts in mind The Brookline Early Education Project (BEEP) was an innovative, community-based program that provided health and developmental services for children and their families from three months before birth until entry into kindergarten. The enrollment was open to all families in the town of Brookline and to families of neighboring Boston to be sure of a mixture of Urban and Suburban communities. The objective here was to ensure that the children entered kindergarten healthy and ready to learn. The BEEP follow up study was to test the hypotheses that BEEP participants, in comparison with their peers, would have higher levels of educational attainment, higher incomes, and more positive health behaviors, mental health, and health efficacy during the young adult period. The comparisons were held during Kindergarten and second grade; it demonstrated the program’s effectiveness during the early school years (Palfrey, MD., J. S., Hauser-Cram, EdDs., P., & Bronson, EdDs., Erickson Warfield, PhD., M., Sirin, PhD., S, Chan, MPH., Eugenia., M. B. (2005). According to Palfrey, MD., Hauser-Cram, EdDs., and Bronson, EdDs. (2005)  “between 1970 and 1978 young adults were enrolled in the BEEP programs. The Comparisons group was young adults who were not enrolled but were matched in age, ethnicity, mother’s educational level, and neighborhood. Originally,......

The Never Ending Nightmare, a Nightmare Within Itself

...“The Never Ending Nightmare, a Nightmare within Itself” I will never forget the day when one of my worst nightmares became a comical reality. It started out as any normal Friday the Thirteenth, or so I had thought. For my sense of time had completely been forgotten. Beep! Beep! Beep! This was the annoying sound of my alarm clock that I would wake up too every morning. I used to dread this sound but lately, it was like a gift from God. I had been restless the past couple of nights—tossing and turning about my bed. I would have dreams, no, horrible nightmares of performing in front of a large crowd and just freeze. I was not able to move nor was I able to speak. I would just stand there in front of what seemed like the whole world and sob. This sounds like an exaggerated case of stage fright only, it was not. I had never experienced anything of the sort. I would enter stage left, cross downstage, and then begin to recite my self-published, might I add, monologue to my peers and professors. About a good four minutes in, the lights would start to flicker. It did not bother me at first, but it continued. Eventually, the lights shut off completely. The only light remaining was the ghost light placed at center stage behind me. Suddenly, an eerie fog made its way through the cracks under the doors and in the walls. Everyone in the audience seemed to twist into a sick-like, monstrous mutation. Their faces went from laughter and serenity to anger and despair. Even their bodily......

Llama Story

...“See you in a thousand years." Scit laughs, "Yep. See you soon, maybe." Thousands of years later... BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. The doors to the freeze chambers open up. Scit opens his eyes as if he's never woken up. "Woah, is it time already? It only seemed like a few minutes ago where we froze." "Oh man, wow." Spoke Mage. "We better turn on the transmission." They turn it on to find new llamas in oddly dressed clothing and awkward hair styles. It was the future. The new llamas spoke in a funny accent, and spoke up. "We have bad news." Scit and Mage looked at each other and then said, "Wait, what?" "Turns out, by the rate you are going, you won't be landing on the planet selected for quite awhile." "Awhile as in...?" "A million years." "But that's not right! It was a thousand!" "We have much better technology then your generation one thousand years ago did. We know the right answer." Scit and Mage were silent. "I suggest that you both put on your solar powered energy option as you will run out of gas. You still have a long time to go." They turned off the transmitter, and started pressing buttons. They went back into their chambers. They would wait if they had to Millions of years later... They wake with a start. Nightmares filled their never ending dreams. They went to the transmitter again. It was blank. No sound, no screen. No llamas. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. "What's going on??" Mage yelled" We're landing!" Scit replies they land on the ground. They......

...which may be text on the display screen and/or a series of coded beeps, depending on the nature of the problem. Since POST runs before the computer's video card is activated, it may not be possible to progress to the display screen. The pattern of beeps may be a variable numbers of short beeps or a mixture of long and short beeps, depending on what type of BIOS is installed. The patterns of beeps contain messages about the nature of the problem detected. For example, if the keyboard is not detected, a particular pattern of beeps will inform you of that fact. An error found in the POST is usually fatal (that is, it causes current program to stop running) and will halt the boot process, since the hardware checked is absolutely essential for the computer's functions. A beep code is the audio signal given out by a computer to announce the result of a short diagnostic testing sequence the computer performs when first powering up (called the Power-On-Self-Test or POST ). The POST is a small program contained in the computer's Basic Input/Output Operating System ( BIOS ) that checks to make sure necessary hardware is present and required memory is accessible. If everything tests out correctly, the computer will typically emit a single beep and continue the starting-up process. If something is wrong, the computer will display an error message on the monitor screen and announce the errors audibly with a series of beeps that vary in pitch, number and duration (this is especially......

...BEEP CODES What is “Beep Code”- A beep code is an audible "code" generated during the Power On Self Test when the BIOS encounters an issue but hasn't booted far enough to display a POST error message on the monitor. Why are “Beep Codes” Necessary- Because it typically means that the system has encountered some kind of problem before it was able to display any kind of error information on the monitor. Examples of “Beep Codes”- Standard Original IBM POST Error Codes  1 short beep | Normal POST - system is ok | 2 short beeps | POST Error - error code shown on screen | No beep | Power supply or system board problem | Continuous beep | Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem | AMI BIOS Beep Codes 1 Short Beep | One beep is good! Everything is ok, that is if you see things on the screen. If you don't see anything, check your monitor and video card first. Is everything connected? If they seem fine, your motherboard has some bad chips on it. First reset the SIMM's and reboot. If it does the same thing, one of the memory chips on the motherboard are bad, and you most likely need to get another motherboard since these chips are soldered on. | Phoenix BIOS Beep Codes These audio codes are a little more detailed then the AMI codes. This BIOS emits three sets of beeps. For example, 1 -pause- 3 -pause 3 -pause. This is a 1-3-3 combo and each set of beeps is separated by a brief pause. Listen to this sequence of sounds, count them, and reboot and count again......

These firewalls ignore information that is not secured and comes from locations that are unknown and suspicious. Hardware firewalls can be stand-alone and/or in broadband routers. Hardware firewalls does not necessarily have to be configured and can protect all machines on a local network. Hardware firewalls examine packet headers by using a packet filter. Based on previously stored information and rules, the packet is then forwarded to its destination or dropped. Hardware firewalls determine whether the information packets are safe based on the ports and URL. 8/31/14 Software firewalls are installed on a specific computer as opposed to supporting a whole network. It protects against remote access to control your computer. It can also block the running of potentially unsafe applications on your computer. Software firewalls normally uses minimal system resources and runs in the background constantly to ensure protection for the computer. Software firewalls need to be kept up-to-date to ensure the best level of protection from newer viruses and malicious content. It is best to always test both hardware......
