What is the problem or issue that necessitates such an article be written?

This article comes directly out of both textbooks (Chapter 12 in Essentials of Negotiation, page 256 and Article 7.1 in Negotiation – Readings, Exercises and Cases, page 485) we have used for this course. It is a summary of what we have learned about the field of negotiation. It reminds us that negotiation is intrinsic in our lives and confronts us many times each day. This article is a reflection by the author’s using a broad view of best practices for negotiators to focus on in order to improve negotiation skills and techniques.

What strategies or techniques are used to solve the problem or address the issue?

The article lists Ten Best practices for Negotiators in a table and continues to explain the importance of each. The table from the text is as follows:

...An article review of Harvey, Bosco and Emanuele, 2010, ‘The Impact of “Green Collar Worker” on Organizations, Management Research Review, vol.33, no. 5, pp 499-511. One of key factors to ensure organizational effectiveness is the people who run it. Therefore, acquiring and employing the workforce has to be planned and managed well since the business environment is facing rapid changes mainly in terms of generation employed, technology and society needs. This article concentrates on how “green collar workers” affect an organization. The authors’ main idea is that practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme with regard to environmental activities has an effect on organization image which may lead to better selection in recruitment. Based on previous research, Harvey, Bosco and Emanuele (2010) conducted a study on the importance of CSR/organization’s environmental activities and its relationship with employee willingness to recommend employer to others.
