The company has successfully operated in the Houston area for the past ten years working on both small and large scale construction, repair, and alteration projects focusing on residential contracting. With the business boom that is occurring in our local area and the desire to improve overall profit margins, the company is planning to shift its target market from residential clients to the larger commercial customers. This business plan will lay out our goals and tasks to make this transition successful and create enough market shares to succeed in this highly competitive market.

The Company

Houston based Fosse Commercial Contractors; LLC began in 1985 when Mr. Robert Fosse began his own company, Fosse Painting and General Construction. As part of its growth and altered focus, FCC is planning on changing its charter from a limited liability company to a class C corporation registered in Texas. This will allow FCC greater access to investment funds to fuel its growth.

...“Financial Management.” Please respond to the following: * Imagine yourself as the financial planner for a small company with 100 employees. Briefly describe your (imaginary) business and describe your strategy for financial planning and managing assets. * Using the same scenario, determine how you would finance a five-fold expansion of your company. Explain your rationale. My small company is Terry’s Graphics. We do all different kinds of graphic design work from designing people symbols to put onto cars, to putting graphic signs onto cars, to Christmas letters, to newsletters, etc. Our financial plan will be a document which will specify the funds, which will be needed by Terry’s Graphics for a period of time. I am going to plan by determining what funds will be required during the planning period, when will it need additional funds, and where will we obtain the additional funds from. We will have short-term assets, long-term assets, and capital investment analysis. These assets will be overseen by Terry, the CEO of Terry’s Graphics, but one of our dedicated employees will actually put together the financial plan. I would finance a five-fold expansion of Terry’s Graphics by using short-term funding options. This would include using trade credit, short-term loans, and commercial paper. If necessary, we would also use long-term financing. This would include public sale of stocks and bonds, private placements, venture capitalists, private equity funds, and......

... Yes, this could've been a financial windfall for Netflix, but the plan backfired. Netflix was not expecting nor were they prepared for the public outcry, because of the choice that Netflix made; they began to lose customers at an unprecedented rate (http://www.netflix.com/MediaCenter/Facts) . Another company that fell victim due to greed was Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley made a move from an investment bank to a financial bank holding company. This move gave Morgan Stanley access to the Federal Reserve, and also opened the door for Morgan Stanley to acquire funds from the general public. Again, when the economy began to crumble, all of the major banking institutions were called on the carpet, all of which had to finance the financial bailout. And on top of that, Morgan Stanley had to pay back $10 billion in government TARP money. Because of the lateral move made by Morgan Stanley to acquire more money, it put the financial institution in a very high risk position. Because of its new status, Morgan Stanley found itself right in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression (Stockman, D.A. (2013). and almost saw its doors closing for good. Did Netflix and Morgan Stanley engage in any unethical practices, not to my knowledge? It is the very goal of every company to be successful...number one, giants among dwarfs! It personifies their very existence! If and when ever I am a business for myself, I'm sure that being #1 will always play a major role in...

There are many businesses that offer similar products and create competition (2013, 02). Consumers are able to have options in the marketplace. Apple Inc. and Microsoft are two companies that offer similar products to consumers. Apple, created by Steve Jobs, is an American multinational cooperation headquartered in Cupertino, California that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software and personal computers. Microsoft, created by Bill Gates, is an American multinational software cooperation headquartered in Redmond, Washington that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of products and services related to computing. This paper will discuss how the cooperate culture of these two companies differ, three ways that each unique culture has benefited by the other’s competition, and how these companies will potentially thrive in the future. The cooperate culture of these two technology giants are very different in that Apple is more conservative, distinct, and expensive, whereas in Microsoft is more personalized, flexible, and affordable. ...Executive Summary This is a business plan for our company, GreenArrow Sdn Bhd, an environmental friendly company, which will be selling hazardous insects’ trap by using recycled material. The purpose of this plan is to provide us a guideline to conduct the business and serves as a reminder to keep the business on track. In Malaysia, the dengue rate has been increasing significantly. In year 2013, more than 43,000 cases were reported, with 92 deaths, up from 35 dead the year before. Mosquito fogging is a common method to eliminate mosquitos but it doesn’t reduce the dengue rate. Our company spotted a great opportunity to conduct a profit making business and yet provide solution to this problem. The solution is our product, LED Mosquito Killer. It can bait and trap mosquito by luring them with heat, light and CO2. The target market can be household, firms, institutions and it can be used in many places such as home, restaurant, hospital, schools and even outdoor by using the USB cable. We are able to source recycled raw material with cheap price and we are planning to distribute the product to wholesaler and retailer. The forecast sales in the first year will be 24000 units. The startup cost will be RM 178,200.00 and the estimated net profit after deducting all expenses will be RM 108,000.00 for the first year. Breakeven can be achieved on 1 and a half year. ...20 Reasons Why You Need a Business Plan Categories: * Business Planning 1. To prove that you’re serious about your business. A formal business plan is necessary to show all interested parties -- employees, investors, partners and yourself -- that you are committed to building the business. 2. To establish business milestones. The business plan should clearly lay out the long-term milestones that are most important to the success of your business. To paraphrase Guy Kawasaki, a milestone is something significant enough to come home and tell your spouse about (without boring him or her to death). Would you tell your spouse that you tweaked the company brochure? Probably not. But you'd certainly share the news that you launched your new website or reached $1M in annual revenues. 3. To better understand your competition. Creating the business plan forces you to analyze the competition. All companies have competition in the form of either direct or indirect competitors, and it is critical to understand your company's competitive advantages. 4. To better understand your customer. Why do they buy when they buy? Why don’t they when they don't? An in-depth customer analysis is essential to an effective business plan and to a successful business. 5. To enunciate previously unstated assumptions. The process of actually writing the business plan helps to bring previously "hidden" assumptions to the foreground. By writing them down and assessing them, you can test them......

...  Business Plan for a Startup Business The business plan consists of a narrative and several financial worksheets. The narrative template is the body of the business plan. It contains more than 150 questions divided into several sections. Work through the sections in any order that you like, except for the Executive Summary, which should be done last. Skip any questions that do not apply to your type of business. When you are finished writing your first draft, you’ll have a collection of small essays on the various topics of the business plan. Then you’ll want to edit them into a smooth‐flowing narrative. The real value of creating a business plan is not in having the finished product in hand; rather, the value lies in the process of researching and thinking about your business in a systematic way. The act of planning helps you to think things through thoroughly, study and research if you are not sure of the facts, and look at your ideas critically. It takes time now, but avoids costly, perhaps disastrous, mistakes later. This business plan is a generic model suitable for all types of businesses. However, you should modify it to suit your particular circumstances. Before you begin, review the section titled Refining the Plan, found at the end. It suggests emphasizing certain areas depending upon your type of business (manufacturing, retail, service, etc.). It also has tips for fine‐tuning your plan to make an effective presentation to investors or bankers. If this is why......
