Bullying is a dangerous behavior and an epidemic that has affected many children and young adults. This behavior is most commonly defined as being physically threatening to someone else to cause harm. However, with the internet and social media sites in full swing, bullying becomes more intricate and diverse. It can cause emotional damage just as it does physical. Some bullies prefer to harm someone using gossip, name calling and/or leaving someone out of a social circle.
Bullying should be defined accurately so that it can be discussed and prevented. Actions that coincide with bullying do not just impact the bully and the victim, but it can also impact those witnessing it. An incorrectly defined problem creates more of a problem. When researched and clearly defined, strategies can be implemented to prevent bullying from taking place. Also, interventions become more efficient.
The problem is that there are over 217 bullying cases every year, sometimes even more. This is a problem because a lot of teenager’s even adults try to commit suicide by either overdosing with drugs, hanging themselves, or by cutting their wrist, ECT. Bullying can affect everyone, no matter what age, gender, or culture. One of them main people that bullying affect is the victim as well as the parents.
My definition of the term bullying hasn’t changed because the article has the same definition as mine, same accuracy and same subject. My definition is more specific as best of my knowledge, a more specific definition would better because people could understand the different ways of the term bullying and how to be able to prevent it or deal with it. People would have different sources to choose from on how to be able on solving…...

Monte Carlo

...Monte Carlo Simulation Tutorial This tutorial shows how to use Microsoft Excel to develop Monte Carlo simulations without the use of add-ins or special software (such as @RISK or Crystal Ball). (Note, however, that there are some important advantages of using these dedicated software packages.) After completing the tutorial you should have a sufficient understanding of Monte Carlo concepts and Excel capabilities to begin building your own Monte Carlo simulations applied to a wide range of business problems, including the construction of short-term profit plans (otherwise referred to as “Cost-Volume-Profit” models, covered in Chapter 9 of the text). Monte Carlo refers to a widely used approach for solving complex problems using computer algorithms to simulate the variables in the model (e.g., a CVP model). Typically, an algorithm is developed to "model" the problem, and then the algorithm is run many times (from a few hundred up to millions) in order to develop a statistical data set for how the model behaves. Simple Example: Tossing a “Fair” Coin—Heads vs. Tails? For the simplest example, consider the basic coin toss. This is a process which has two possible outcomes (heads or tails), each with a 50% probability. In a million coin tosses, roughly half will be “heads” and half will be “tails.” A simple Monte Carlo simulation would support this conclusion. If you were to develop a spreadsheet with a random number generator resulting in 0 for “heads” and 1 for “tails,”......

Monte Carlo Simulation

...Monte Carlo simulations and option pricing by Bingqian Lu Undergraduate Mathematics Department Pennsylvania State University University Park, PA 16802 Project Supervisor: Professor Anna Mazzucato July, 2011 Abstract Monte Carlo simulation is a legitimate and widely used technique for dealing with uncertainty in many aspects of business operations. The purpose of this report is to explore the application of this technique to the stock volality and to test its accuracy by comparing the result computed by Monte Carlo Estimate with the result of Black-Schole model and the Variance Reduction by Antitheric Variattes. The mathematical computer softwear application that we use to compute and test the relationship between the sample size and the accuracy of Monte Carlo Simulation is itshapeMathematica. It also provides numerical and geometrical evidence for our conclusion. 0.1 Introduction to Monte Carlo Simulaion Monte Carlo Option Price is a method often used in Mathematical finance to calculate the value of an option with multiple sources of uncertainties and random features, such as changing interest rates, stock prices or exchange rates, etc.. This method is called Monte Carlo simulation, naming after the city of Monte Carlo, which is noted for its casinos. In my project, I use Mathematica, a mathematics computer software, we can easily create a sequence of random number indicating the uncertainties that we might have for the stock prices for......

Carlos Slim Biography

...being that has accomplished being successful in a job that they love to do and excel at. Much can be said about one such entrepreneur whose name is Carlos Slim; he fits the definition of a very successful entrepreneur. A family man, surrounded with education since childhood, Slim constantly proved the importance of school and taking risks. In the early 1900’s his father “escaped the Ottoman Empire to avoid being forced into the army at age 14” (“Carlos Slim Helú Biography”). Good thing he did too, perhaps he would have never had been the father of the most successful entrepreneur in the world. Success to most people might mean a load of money, and although it is true money is a part of success, the true success Slim swims in is that of doing something he is good at, and makes a living from it. Throughout his life he displayed the characteristics of determination, perseverance, and a pleasant humble attitude. Slim proves that to get to the top, you have to be determined of what your dreams are, stay optimistic even when things do not look so bright, and when your dreams pull through in the end, stay humble. The life of Slim has not always been the brightest, but even through the dark times in his life and the brightest ones, by keeping those three characteristics, he pulled through the bumpy road of his life. Much like his father, Carlos is very intelligent, good with numbers, owning/fixing up businesses and making them worth a lot more money. It is true success that he......

Monte Carlo Analysis

...Monte Carlo Statistical Analysis Name Course Instructor Date The Monte Carlo method is a mathematical method used for problem solving through the generation of random numbers and then observing a fraction of these numbers and the properties they obey. It is useful in obtaining numerical solutions to problems that are too complicated for analytical solutions. It is a form of probability used to understand the impact of risk and uncertainty in various areas such as financial and cost forecasting. It involves computation of the likelihood of given events occurring or not occurring, without taking into account the interaction of the elements involved in influencing the occurrence. The mathematical method was invented by Stanislaw Ulam in 1946 and named by Nicholas Metropolis after a classy gambling resort in Monaco, where a relative of Ulam frequently gambled [ (Fishman, 1996) ]. Concepts of the Monte Carlo method Uncertainty Being a forecasting model, there are assumptions that need to be made due to the uncertainty of various factors. One therefore needs to be able to make estimations of the expected results as they cannot predict with certainty what the end value will be. Important factors such as historical data and past experiences in the field can be helpful in making an accurate estimate. Estimation In some cases, estimation may be possible but in others it is not. In situations where estimation is possible, it is wise to use a wide range of possible values......

...BME5001 Leadership and Managerial Skills Carlos Ghosn and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd BME5001 Leadership and Managerial Skills 2014 According to Pearce (2012,pp162) *the practical interest in cultures began with a fascination with the power and strength of multinational Japanese corporations. It wasn’t one thing the Japanese did. Rather, management practices, employee perceptions, expectations and social environments all seemed to reinforce and work in concert to create Japanese corporations’ success”1. Hence, it is intriguing to have Nissan Motor Co Ltd (Nissan) as a case study feature; for an absolutely contrasting reason. Equally fascinating was that Nissan was revived by a non-Japanese leader; Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Carlos Ghosn (Ghosn). Many reasons could have brought about Nissan’s dire state. Since “what successful leaders do depends much on their particular situations than it does on matching cultural leadership practices to stereotyped images of another culture”1, this paper would focus on examining Ghosn’s leadership practices which revived Nissan. “Leadership is the guiding of others towards an objective”.1 To do that, “leaders must diagnose and clearly understand the situations in which they find themselves”1. When Ghosn arrived at Nissan, he assumed nothing, hit the ground to observe and listen to everything that was said and practiced by employees working the floor right up to divisional presidents; in order to......

...Company Analysis: Monte Carlo Overview of Indian Economy According to National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) the fourth largest economy of the world, i.e. India is expected a growth rate of 5.1% to 5.5% in real GDP in 2015. Moreover Technopak Report 2014 says, textile and apparel industry has been a major contributor to India’s GDP from last two decades, providing employment to more than 45M people. This sector has also contributed towards the growth of industrial production and foreign exchange through exports. Textile and Apparel Industry In developing countries like India, higher annual GDP growth corresponds to increase in purchasing power of the consumers, favouring the growth in textile and apparel industry. But in developed countries USA, Japan and countries of European Union slower annual GDP growth corresponds to reducing the demand for textile and apparel. Cheap labour in developing countries accounts well for their production advantage. The size if Indian textile and apparel industry has increased substantially from US $70 billion in 2006 to US $90 billion in 2013. (Source: Technopak Report 2014) Overview Monte Carlo was launched in 1984 as an exclusive woollen brand, since then it has been a leading apparel brand in India in terms of revenue. Monte Carlo Simulation

...Monte Carlo Simulation The Monte Carlo Simulation encompasses “any technique of statistical sampling employed to approximate solutions to quantitative problems” (Monte Carlo Method, 2005). The Monte Carlo method simulates the full system many times, each randomly choosing a value for each variable from its probability distribution. The outcome is a probability distribution of the overall value of the system calculated through the iterations of the model. A standard approach to risk management of projects is outline by Project Management Institute (2004) that includes six processes: Risk Management Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Qualification, Risk Quantification, Risk Response Planning, and Risk Monitoring and Control. Monte Carlo is usually listed as a method to use during the Risk Quantification process to better quantify the risks to the project manager is able to justify a schedule reserve, budget reserve, or both to deal with issues that could adversely affect the project. Monte Carlo simulation, while not widely used in project management, does get some exposure through certain project management practices. This is primarily in the areas of cost and time management to quantify the risk level of a projects budget or planned completion date. In time management, Monte Carlo simulation may be applied to project schedules to quantify the confidence the project manager should have in the target competition date or total project duration. In cost management, the......

...stars Will watch us go by. And a mysterious ray Will nest in your hair, Inquisitive glow-worm that'll see That you are my consolation. The day that you love me There’ll be nothing but harmony. The dawn will be clear And the water spring will be happy. The breeze will quietly bring A rumor of melody. And the fountains will give us Their crystal song. The day that you love me The singing bird Will sweeten its cords. Life will bloom Pain will not exist. The night that you love me From the blue of the sky The jealous stars Will watch us go by. And a mysterious ray Will nest in your hair, Inquisitive glow-worm that'll see That you are my consolation. El Día Que Me Quieras by Carlos Gardel This song was introduced to the word by the world renowned Carlos Gardel in 1935. It’s slow and harmonious tone has touched the hearts of its listeners around the globe. The song, which when translated means “The Day That You Love Me”, was sung by Gardel in the Hollywood movie starring himself ironically called “El Día Que Me Quieras”. Like most Tango songs this one tells a story about love however it is a creation story rather than a reflection on a bad experience. In the song Gardel eloquently explains to the woman in which he is in love with what will happen on the day that she loves him. The poetic expression within the song is moving as he elaborates more and more about the changes that will occur on the day in question. The song begins with “Acaricia......

Carlos Slim

...Carlos Slim Helu In 1902, Julián Slim Haddad, father of Carlos Slim Helú, arrived to Mexico from Lebanon. He was escaping from the Ottoman Empire, which at the time conscripted young men into its army. One of the markers of Carlos Slim Helu’s success has been his ability to buy and sell at the correct times. His investments in the downturn of the 1980s were the foundation of his wealth, and throughout the 1990s he continued to sell businesses which were successful then use the return to invest in others which were up and coming. Carlos Slim was born on january 28, 1940. He completes his professional studies in civil engineering at the UNAM. By 1965 Carlos Slim aquired companies like inmobiliaria Carso, casa de bolsa inversora Bursátil, embotelladora Jarritos del sur, and some others. Carso was incorporated in January 1966. Carso comes from the first syllable of the names Carlos and Soumaya, Mr. Slim's wife. The Mexican economic crash of 1982 was what delivered the opportunity to consolidate his wealth. In 1990, Grupo Carso and other Mexican investors acquired 10.4% of the companys stock, in partnership with SBC - 5% with an option for an additional 5% - and France Telecom 5%. Since 1990, Telmex has embraced a work culture where training, modernization, quality and customer service is a priority. Ten principles of grupo Carso. 1. Have always simple organizational structures, minimal hierarchical levels; provide human and in-house development of the executives;......

Carlos Ghosn

...Master in Management Organizational Behavior & Leadership Case #2: The Personality of Leaders The Personality of Carlos Ghosn: The $10 Billion Man Read the following dossier of article extracts and answer the final questions. 1.- “The $10 billion man” Feb 24th 2005, The Economist Having turned round Nissan, Carlos Ghosn is about to run Renault as well It is said that he could add $10 billion to the market value of Ford or General Motors with a stroke of his pen. But Carlos Ghosn is not about to sign up as chief executive of either firm. Instead, in May, he will become the boss of Renault, France 's second-largest carmaker, while continuing to head Nissan, Japan's number two car firm. To ease the transition, this week he named Toshiyuki Shiga as Nissan's chief operating officer. Although Renault and Nissan have cross-shareholdings and a deep alliance, their relationship deliberately stops well short of outright merger. Perhaps that is why it has been so successful, avoiding the integration pain that has marred, for instance, DaimlerBenz's takeover of Chrysler. In his book, “Shift: Inside Nissan's Historic Revival”, published in English last month, Mr Ghosn says that the strength of the alliance “can be found, on the one hand, in its respect for the identities of the two companies, and on the other, in the necessity of developing synergies.” Certainly the benefit has flowed both ways since the Franco -Japanese deal was done in 1999. First, Renault......
