I am doing my essay on tablets. Tablets, for the most part, have taken over the laptop market. They are light, extremely portable, and can do most everyday laptop functions. The three devices I will be reviewing and comparing are the IPad Air from Apple, the Galaxy Tab S from Samsung and the Surface Pro 3 Windows Tab from Microsoft. These three tablets are some of the best in their class. I chose these three since they run on three different operating systems. The IPad Air runs on the iOS 7.1.1. The Galaxy tab runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. And the Surface Pro3 on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS. AS far as which is better, that really is a matter of preference to the user. Depending on what the tablet will be used for will really matter on what system is right for you.
I use my tablet for internet use, mobile entertainment and as a better option for a laptop while traveling. I need my tablet to be light, easy to use and capable of doing basic document creation. Cost is a big factor. I already own a couple laptops so this tablet is really a luxury item for me. I use it as a convenient alternative to a laptop while traveling.
The Surface Pro 3 is a bit too large and bulky and while ideal for document creation it lacks in the app availability of the other two tablets. While I like the keyboard that the Surface pro offers, it is an additional $130 dollars. It is already almost three times the price of the other two tablets. The Surface Pro simply out prices itself for what I would need it for.
I find that the two that are the closest to my needs are the IPad Air and the Samsung Galaxy tab due to the ideal size, familiarity with the OS, the ideal price range and minor additional purchases. I find that the two are very comparable in everything from display to battery life. What it really comes down to is the system familiarity. I already own…...

...The dictionary defines critical thinking as a “disciplined thinking that is clear, rational, open-minded, and informed by evidence.”  So, we must ask ourselves how we obtain critical thinking.  Are there steps that one must take?  Is there only one-way to reach critical thinking?  Is this something that can be taught to another person or explained?  Do ethics and critical thinking ever intertwine?  With so many questions revolving around this subject, I am going to use the rest of this paper to delve into the hard questions.  We are going to explore the steps of the critical thinking process in detail while applying those steps to my personal blind spot and preference in the ethical lens spectrum and we will discuss the effects of ethics in comparison to professional and societal environments. There are six basic steps to the critical thinking process.  Our text, Becoming a Master Student, relies on psychologist Benjamin Bloom to explain the steps.  1)  Remembering  2)  Understanding  3)  Applying  4)  Analyzing  5)  Evaluating  6)  Creating.  (Ellis, 1976, p. 205).   As we start to form the initial research behind the idea or paper these steps become very important in narrowing the field of vision and applying these thoughts to real life.  We need to remember what we are reading or researching.  I personally struggle with remembering some of the small details.  I can get lost in the big picture of the project.  We then need to understand what we are reading; the best way......
