Current Situation Regarding F & A Systems:
◾San Jose has a license for a fully integrated Windows based ERP manufacturing, distribution and financial management software application specifically designed for plastics processors and process and assembly manufacturers. The license does not include application source code.
◾Michigan had purchased a vendor developed software application and the attendant source code for their Fd & A and process application. The vendor is no longer in business. The application runs on a pair of DEC Alpha's, using the VMS operating system, VAX4000 work stations and programmed in C.
◾Georgia had purchased a vendor (different from Michigan) developed software application and the attendant source code for their F & A and manufacturing process applications. The systems run on a pair of AS400's, using UNIX operating system, use PC's (Windows) as workstations, and is programmed in RPG400.

The F & A Department has been unable to achieve anything remotely resembling "seamless compatibility". Some F & A data is provided to corporate via data files; some data is provided via hardcopy reports and must be re-entered; some data is provided via data files but must be converted (redirected) to the proper account codes and the list goes on. Subsequently, Riordan has the following situation regarding F & A system outputs at the consolidated level:
◾Consolidated close of the General Ledger and subsequently the Income Statement and Balance Sheet is labor intensive and normally not completed until 15-20 days after month end.
◾Audit (to include external auditors) is required each month and is costly and labor intensive.
◾Compliance with new government required reporting requirements at the consolidated level is difficult at best.
◾Riordan Enterprises finds the situation unacceptable and has mandated a solutions(s)/alternatives be…...

Big Mouth

...  ‘He had a big mouth sometimes, but … how was that a crime? In the United States we have a Bill of Rights guaranteeing us freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Don’t we?’ This is what the American novelist Joyce Carol Oates writes the very end of her novel taking her point of departure in Matt Donaghy who goes to Rocky River High School. The above quote from the novel includes a discourse on the issues of being a big mouth and most importantly the freedom of speech which according to the protagonist Matt Donaghy does not exist? In the story we are inside Matt’s head and therefore we follow and see all of his thoughts on the situation going on and his way of behaving towards the people questioning him in the office about what he actually said. Bear in mind that even though he firmly denies the accusations, he is almost continuously being mistrusted. This is probably caused by his very sarcastic behavior because he keeps saying inappropriate things even when he’s interrogated in the office: ‘I can tell you: I never threatened anybody or anything…And if I had, I wouldn’t tell you, about it, would I?’ Matt is maybe not aware of the possibility that he did actually say something to his friends that could be misinterpreted and have a deleterious effect. He starts realizing that the sarcastic jokes won’t help him out and can only hurt him even more – only by choosing the right arguments with care can he avoid the mistrust laid upon him. His speech is therefore......

Purchase Intention and Word of Mouth

...Economics, Foundation University Islamabad, Pakistan) 1 Abstract: The objective of this research is two fold. First is to determine the impact of brand experience, brand trust and affective commitment on purchase intentions. Second is to ascertain the mediating role of brand love in the relationships of purchase intentions and word-of-mouth. The data was obtained from 265 cell phone customers from Islamabad and Rawalpindi cities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Simple random sampling technique was used for the collection of data and the data was analyzed in SPSS 15.0 where correlation and regression analyses were performed. Results indicate that brand experience, brand trust and affective commitment have significant positive impacts on purchase intentions. In this relationship, the intensity of the impact of affective commitment is quite high as compared to other variables. Other results revealed that purchase intentions significantly predict brand love and word-of-mouth, and brand love also significantly predicts word-of-mouth. And finally, brand love has partial mediation affect in the relationship of purchase intentions and word-of-mouth. Keywords - affective commitment, brand experience, brand trust, brand love, cell phone I. Mouth Watering Jelly

...Mouth Watering Jelly One year, my husband and I had more watermelons than we knew what to do with. There were too many for us to eat without having to throw some out. We tried calling our friends and family, but no one wanted them, even though they were free. So, I found a recipe for watermelon jelly. I wrinkled up my nose with the thought of how that would taste, but I was out of ideas on what to do with all that watermelon, so I printed out the recipe and got started. First, you will need to gather all the ingredients and equipment that you will use throughout this process. You will need four cups of chopped watermelon (without the seeds or rind), three and a half cups of sugar, three tablespoons of lemon juice( fresh or store bought), one package of dry no sugar needed pectin, jar grabber (to pick up the hot jars), jar funnel, one five quart or larger pot, one two quart pot, one large spoon, one ladle, one water bath canner (huge pot with a lifting rack to sanitize the jars of watermelon jelly after filling), eight 8 ounce jelly jars with lids and bands, one food processor or blender, one small bowl. I went out to the garden to pick out a nice ripe watermelon. If you don’t have a garden of your own, you can find a watermelon at your local farmers market or grocery store. Wash the outside of your watermelon with cold water. Before you cut your watermelon in half, fill the water bath canner up about three fourths of the way full with water and put it on the......

...EL DIABLO I remember always playing with my grandmother’s tarot deck when I was five. My grandmother, also a witch, said that I could see things in a way nobody else could. My red hair didn’t match my dark eyes, but she said that the full moons in my eyes meant I had a darkness and heaviness that only someone who had lived many lives could have. I didn’t know that my eyes would grow darker over time, I had endured a lot, more than any child should. Every time my hand would hover over the deck, drawing a card, my fingers would tremble-that’s how I would know I drew the right cards. I remember the eyes on the pictures of the cards glaring at me, symbolizing different parts of the fortune being told. I would lay them out on blue silk, always drawing ‘El Diablo’. The dark eyes always scared others away, but the power they had could suck you in, tearing at your insides. The devil was a constant, a dark representation of change. I never knew what this meant, but I have learned the devil would always shadow me. He was there before I was born, a piece of me, a piece of my family’s past. I wouldn’t say I went through as much as a child who lived in a third world country has went through, but I have been a subject to a great amount of pain. The devil first showed up in the form of death and Illness. I had lost a plethora of family members and almost my father. While he was weak, I felt a great amount of guilt, silencing myself and retreating to the familiar darkness. My......

Meth Mouth

...quickly, requiring higher dosages or frequency. By the 1960’s Crystal Meth was being manufactured illegally in many homes. With eighty dollars’ worth of simple items that you can easily acquire from your local pharmacy and hardware store, you can turn to a profit of one-thousand dollars. It is no wonder this has become such an epidemic. With this new discovery also came the dental condition called Meth Mouth. Meth mouth is a dental condition often characterized by severe tooth decay and loss of teeth. The condition got its name toward the latter part of 2004 when it started becoming a major problem for the corrections departments and local jails. The influx of persons with these conditions prompted city officials to look for the root cause. The exact cause of the condition is unknown as of today but grinding of the teeth also known as bruxism and dry mouths known as xerostomia are believed to be involved in the condition. There are many negatives associated with Methamphetamines, the obvious being that it is illegal. Another more visible side effect is Meth Mouth. Big Mouth and Ugly Girl

...Big Mouth and Ugly Girl The novel “Big Mouth and Ugly Girl” written by Joyce Carol Oates in 2002 is a story about two American high school students who get very involved in each other’s lives by an accidental incident. Ursula Riggs is a 16 year-old high school student at a school called Rocky River High in the US. She is not like any other teenage-girl, but is actually quite a tomboy. She is not very popular at her school, probably because she is a girl with a whole lot of attitude. Ursula is a very sporty girl and has always been the best player at her basketball team. When she is on the field, she is a warrior woman. She does not care about anything but her own success on the team and she will practice any method to win a game. When she is in this particular state of mind, she refers to herself as Ugly Girl. When she puts on this Ugly Girl-mask, it is because she is aware of her own sensitivity and tries to stay strong by putting the worst label on herself. If she is already aware of the fact that she is ugly and an outcast, how can anyone else hurt her by saying these things? Ursula Riggs began to develop a womanly body far too early and that probably caused her to quit her swimming team. She was not comfortable with her new body and started to put herself up against the rest of the girls on the team, while they still looked like girls their age were supposed to look like. This feeling of being an outsider is a character trait that later on is......

Motor Mouth

...Different Work Ethics Co-workers can be classified according to their work ethics as lazy-bums, motor- mouths, or dedicated. The first type is the “lazy bums.” One time my lazy co-worker was on the phone talking to her friend. While I needed a break three people came to my desk. When asking her for help, she snapped her fingers and gave me the “wait a minute” sign. I was so mad, I was about to spit nails. Unable to take my break was not that big of deal, needing her help on the other hand was. The second kind is the “motor mouth.” These people on the phone for what seems to be hours, and is a very frustrating to me when I am are in need of help in the department. When the “motor-mouth walks in first thing in the morning, her desk phone starts ringing. I remember one time; I had counted thirty-five phone calls, each phone call lasting up to ten minutes. When I went to ask her a “work” question, she did not even acknowledge I was there. I stood there for what seemed like hours before she rudely said, “Can you hang on? This chick is at my desk.” One day she was asked if she had completed a certain task by the deadline. Knowing that she did not even start it, she scrambled for someone to help her. No one in our department wanted to help due to her rarely lending a hand to us. The last category would be the”dedicated.” My co-worker who works closely with me is very dedicated to her job. She is always there to help me out. When given a task, she follows through with it,......

Word of Mouth Marketing

...Twitter and Brands with Word of Mouth Marketing Word of mouth marketing is rapidly becoming part of marketing’s plan when it comes to brand building. Twitter was first introduced in April 2006 as a social platform that provided one’s status updates; four years later Twitter’s strategic direction integrated its business users with Twitter for business (Promoted Tweets, Twitter Ads) in April 2010. I was at first skeptical about Twitter because of the limited number of characters per message and I didn’t see the advantages in microblogging at first. These days, when I am on Twitter my game plan is simply I follow topics I want to know about and receive updates on, then check back for messages (or tweets). Speaking for myself, I eventually discovered how to enjoy tweets on events and topics that interested me. Nevertheless, Twitter presently has over 75 million accounts, so I would tend to agree that there’s a lot of personal marketing one can accomplish with it if it’s done right. This seems to be the case with Twitter’s other market: companies, advertisers, and marketers who seem to be able to make marketing sense with it. Social networks like Twitter have forced marketers to spend more time studying social trends and behaviors to improve or develop their targeting strategies. It’s been shown that television and social media are correlated. Research has concluded that consumers love using social media while they watch TV (see illustration[2]). Twitter is able......

Fish (Mouth Positions)

...different mouth positions. There are three main types of fish mouth positions. The superior mouths, the inferior mouths, and the terminal mouths. Fishes have snouts (it is like their mouths/nose) and it consists the maxilla or the upper part of the mouth, the mandible or the lower part of the mouth, and the gap between the maxilla and the mandible, the gape. If the mouth is located at the dorsal or antero-dorsal part of the snout, it is a superior mouth. Example is a stargazer fish, having a longer mandible than the maxilla and the gape points upward when the mouth is open. And yes, their mouth is like a scoop to gather foods (fishes) swimming above them. They can wait for food in the surface of the waters and they are also benthic predators, they can find food in the depths of the ocean. Compared to the superior mouth, inferior mouths are just bottom feeders, their mandible is shorter than their maxilla and their gape points downward when their mouth is open, which makes it easier for them to eat their prey swimming below them. The inferior mouth is located at the central part of the snout, one of the best examples is the threadfin fish. And last of the three main types is the terminal mouth, butterfly fishes in the aquariums and aquatic parks which children are very fond of. Unlike the superior and inferior mouths, the terminal mouth fishes has a mandible and maxilla that approximately have equal lengths which influences the gape to just point forward when the mouth is......

I Have No Mouth

...arsenal which caused anxiety over the level of power given to technology. The Vietnam War: was at its peak at the time of publication for “I have no mouth” in 1967 with the largest U.S military offensive occurring in February. The war represented a time of ambiguity with American participation being sold on the basis of the “Domino theory” however by 1967 the public’s opinion on the war had split with protest being a regular occurrence. It was a time of public unrest and upheaval showing a cultural anxiety which is reflected within “I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream”. What Subgenre does it adhere to? In relation to the historical patterns of science fiction “I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream” can be categorised within the “New Wave” phase of science fiction that occurred approximately within the 1960’s and 70’s. The text fits the idea of being a social science fiction where although the catalyst of the narrative is a technological change the main focus is on the social environment that caused that change, and the social implications of the advanced technology as a metaphor for existing human conditions. However the text is better described within the subgenre of a Dystopian Science Fiction where the characters experiences complete suffering and oppression based on a social construction. In the case of “I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream” the social construction takes the form of manmade war technology which after gaining sentience destroys the majority of humanity......
