You know me as Mona El-Tannir, I am a hospitality student at the Central Piedmont Community College. I would like to talk to you today about a career in Hospitality management.
It is very important to know what you want in life, or have an idea about what you know early on. My dream has always been to grow up to be a Special Events Planner- Wedding planner. Therefore I started working on that dream and enrolled in this hospitality program in the CPCC. After graduation I plan to finish my studies at a prestigious university and graduate with bachelors in hospitality management. I am currently working part time at a convenience store to make some extra money but more importantly to add to my costumer service experience.
After graduation I plan to start my trip down my career path working at the food and beverage department as server/waiter at one of the restaurants of a logging hotel or a cruise if my personal status permits. Threw this position I would gain the professional experience with customer care and a good knowledge of the food and beverage aspect of the hospitality industry and develop a set of contacts and a good reference base to move to sales in a catering company. From there on the exposure with the people that I would be dealing with from event planners to customers would give me the chance to introduce myself to the market and to show my vision of event planning. If all goes well I would be looking at becoming a special events planner in the next 7-8 years.
A good thing about the hospitality industry is that it is seasonal, and a bad thing about hospitality is that it is also seasonal. Depending on the location and the specific sector of the hospitality industry you are working in you could face seasons with little to no work and seasons where you are not allowed to take a vacation with killing working hours.
If you would ask me, I always…...

Electric Plant Paper

...water vapor. Another interesting part of the tour was the introduction to the chemical treatment facility. As the equipment producing all of this electricity is extremely sensitive, they need to keep constantly aware of the makeup of the chemicals flowing through the system. A cyclical system of testing the major liquid components of the system were observed and it was interesting to note that the plant workforce tested much of the systems themselves as they did not always have chemist on site. Some of this apparently is a legacy from when the plant was operated independently so each person could take on the responsibilities of most others to account for vacations, sicknesses, etc… The last portion of the presentation detailed how their electric production quota is derived. The Redbud is a member of the SSP South sub-region and they utilize algorithms to determine the most cost-efficient production of electricity for the region while maintaining capabilities to spool up additional resources in the event of a disaster. One of the most meaningful bits of information was the relative times associated with the spool up of certain turbines. Because many of these turbines would take hours to bring online, the SPP must take all of this into account as it may not simply be a matter of making a call and suddenly being able to produce an extra 1000 MW of energy in the event that another plant goes down. This balancing act is a sensitive issue as simply bringing up lots of spare power......

How many owners of these devices suffer from obesity? Obesity now affects 20% of U.S. children, according to the National Center for Health statistics, a U.S. government agency. Obesity occurs when an individual takes in more calories in the form of food than he or she burns for energy. With recent popularity in new technologies, children are not exercising as much as they did in the past, and childhood obesity is becoming a wide spread epidemic in today’s society. Childhood obesity is an ever growing struggle amongst our society today. Most health experts believe childhood obesity is the result of a combination of genetic, environmental and psychological factors. Environment factors that contribute to childhood obesity include activity levels, diets, and eating habits. These factors can easily be maintained, or improved in a young individual’s routine with the help of the peers around them. Parents are the ones who should be acting as positive role models for their children. If an obese child has and obese parent they may think that it is just genetic, but in fact it could be due to poor eating habits ( consumption of excessive amounts of calories), or lack of physical activities. Recent studies show that on average kids......

The salesman name is Willy in which his family is mentioned throughout the play. At the beginning his wife Linda, is always very supportive of his views towards his sales career as Willy has to make sales all over the United States and travels a lot in order to make his career strong. Willy Loman, an old salesman, returns early from a business trip. After nearly crashing multiple times, Willy has a moment of enlightenment and realizes he shouldn't be driving. Seeing that her husband is no longer able to do his job as a traveling salesman, Willy's wife, Linda, suggests that he ask his boss, Howard, to give him a local office job at the New York headquarters. At that time the company was known as The American Gas and Electric Company. AG&E was a collection of small utilities scattered across various states. Many of these utilities were sold and only a few remain part of the company today. The company provided electric, gas, water, steam, transit, or ice services in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio Indiana, and Illinois. In 1911 AG&E got its start with an interconnected power system in Indiana covering 30 miles stretching between two power plants. In 1917 the first super power plant called the Windsor Plant which ran on steam was built at the mouth of a coal mine, eliminating the need to haul coal long distances. From 1922 to 1926 AG&E had one of the greatest expansion periods in history. Electricity was powering the country and AG&E was expanding into more states. In 1923 AG&E constructed three major power plants in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 1924 and 1925 the company acquired two smaller companies and merged them into its profile. Eng 334 Paper

...Name: Mary Xicotencatl Prof: Chamutal Noimann ENG 334-004 Children’s Literature December 21st, 2014 Women in the 19th and 20th century Introduction Throughout the course of history, a wide variety of authors implemented hidden messages in their literature. Many of these messages were representations of what was happening in society, two texts, "the goblin market" written by Christina rosette and 'the sick rose" by William Blake focused on the theme of fallen women. This paper will prove that during the 19th and 20th century, women were considered to be inferior beings with no rights. They faced constant oppression in a society dominated by the male. The paper herein thus provides a full-scale discussion of the thematic relationships between the two texts through an insightful analysis by using secondary sources of the original texts. Discussion The Goblin Market Holt provides a profound analysis in her article about the content of the story in the poem, "Goblin Market." The poem was written in 1862 (in the 18th century) as a manifestation of the plight that women went through at that time. Holt notes that the author of the poem, Christina Rossetti made a an insightful presentation of two sisters, Lizzie and Laura who were forced to endure carnal lust just to embrace a higher and perceived purer realm of human sexuality, which is marriage (Holt 51). The poem is evidence of a strong thematic expression of renunciation that revolves around...

Eng Lit Paper

...So Ching Ashley SID: 1007623943 ENG3250 Other Literatures in English Paper Assignment 2 December 6, 2010. Orientalism in M. Butterfly: a Struggle from Gender Identity to Political Balance Long before Song Liling made her debut as M. Butterfly on stage, there was a woman called Cho-cho-san, playing Madama Butterfly with the fullest of her life. M. Butterfly’s counterpart Madama Butterfly presents readers Cho-cho-san, a pitiful and submissive Oriental Butterfly. Cho-cho-san’s character traits fit in almost every single aspect of the ideal of Oriental women, for instance, Cho-cho-san is a geisha, an exotic representation of Japanese women in the eyes of westerners, Cho-cho-san eventually dies of seppuku, which is the Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment, and her ultimate sacrifice of her everything from her religion to her very life. The attributes of Cho-cho-san are not exclusive to this character only but imposed on all Asian women. The western presupposition of some certain fixed and bounded Asian attributes defines the identity of Asian women and thus, creates an image of the sacrificial and submissive Oriental women. Moreover, the historical backgrounds of Hwang’s Butterfly and Puccini’s Butterfly are, in fact, the extension of gender tension to international power struggle. Cho-cho-san’s love story happens in the Meiji Period in which Japan first opened its door to foreigners; while Gallimard and Song Liling begins having an affair in the 1960s, in the......
