Reliance Industries Earnings to provide a reality check
We downgrade RIL to Sell with a target price of Rs1,300. We believe consensus valuation of its E&P assets is too aggressive. The stock also looks expensive on earnings multiples, given our cautious view on the commodity cycles and belief in rupee appreciation.

Limited earnings growth We estimate RIL's EPS at Rs100-113 over FY08-10, growth of just 6% pa. Our FY10 estimates are 26% below consensus on account of our cautious view on refining/petchem margins and assumption of an appreciating rupee (Rs/US$ will average 41 in FY08, 39.35 in FY09 and 38.40 thereafter). Our FY09-10 estimates now assume oil from KG-D6 and higher prices for KG-D6 gas. Impressive execution capability We…...

...Summer Internship Project Report Understanding the Business Dynamics of four major Indian IT companies, Comparison of their Strategies and Equity Forecasting of a Company Submitted to Mr VinitBolinjkar, Head, Equity Research, Ventura Securities Ltd Dr. Sangeeta Wats 8 June 2013 Prepared by Vaibhav Jha (Roll No A028) Intern at Ventura Securities Ltd, Mumbai MBA Capital Markets 2012-14 batch Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai Preface The size of Indian IT Industry is $100 billion. The pace with which different IT companies have been growing vary to a great extent. Even in terms of future guidance, one company hovers around 6-10% vis-a-vis another at 17%. Volatility has seeped into this industry. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the investors to invest in any of the companies, thanks to the sinusoidal growth of some of the bellwether IT companies. An investor needs to do an in depth analysis of the business model being followed by various companies. I need to look into their target geographies, service lines and industries. Scrutinising these parameters along with the valuation of the respective stocks will give a better idea about the future prospect of these companies. In this research, I have taken top four Indian IT companies- TCS, Infosys, Wipro and HCL. An in-depth analysis of each of the companies is done. I have looked into various domains of the companies. IT industry has many service lines- IT Services, Consulting,......

...Research Report on Combined Effects of Temperature and Noise on Human Discomfort Miroslav Knez RIT Croatia Hypothesis: Many times before the participants were tested on their reaction to heat and noise separately and the interaction between these two important factors in our workplaces was never proven. ...portfolio had an absolute volatility of 20.0179. Macro Environment: During the semester, equity investments in the broad market performed well. The S&P 500 returned 6.57%. During the same horizon, the basic material sector had an even stronger performance of 11.48%. We attribute this to commodity pricing increases, which provided a strong performance environment for the sector. Of special note was the Phelps Dodge deal which gave a higher valuation to traditional extraction and mining companies, which fueled further equity appreciation. In addition, steel pricing increased with a continued increase in demand for steel products and the further decline in the US dollar. Investment Process: We use the bottom - up approach to value equities. Our strategy is not to predict or forecast future commodity pricing, but rather to identify assets that are trading below their fair market value. In examining the investment prospects of a firm we seek under-appreciated assets that we expect to impact earnings greater than the level at which the market anticipates. In accordance to FUND policy we select a “cluster” of stocks and through our analysis identify the stock that has the greatest risk adjusted price appreciation potential. The stocks we invest in promise greater risk/reward ratios than our benchmark. Stock Researched: Specialty Chemical: Ceradyne: Hexcel (Active Equity): Hexcel Inc. ...'My approach to Business Reports and Research' I have decided to keep my sources in-house by utilizing LOIS; “Los Rios Online Information System”, as a base for sources. I am not opposed to other sources, but in the interest of time I am not able to devote the time necessary to vet other databases outside this academia environment. There is no doubt LOIS information is credible. To ensure I have some idea how to vet information sources. I did take the time to read about how to vet informational databases for future knowledge. I relied on the stands that I have already experienced with my academic journey. As a student that is about to graduate, I can honestly say Los Rios school district have provided many sources of information towards learning. Students just have to avail themselves to them. There has been many good experiences with fact finding since enrolling in ARC. To put it plainly, at this point I am very comfortable with LOIS. The choice to use LOIS alleviates any need for assessment. The plan is to gather US government own stats for the number of manufacture, businesses, business processes and jobs loss over the last two decades. Interviews and articles where elected officials, heads of governmental departments and CEO’s explaining when, why, where and how these major decisions impact the American way of life. Who benefits from such decisions? Limited the results to production of reports to within the last year. Because I plan to obtain articles or view points...

...To evaluate the difference in the level of discrimination towards people who have received psychiatric treatment; before and after watching an intervention video. Research Report Name Institutional Affiliations Abstract Background: Existing literature provides that intervention methods play a significant role in reducing the level of discrimination against people who have been treated for mental conditions. The study hypothesized that the level of discrimination would diminish after administration of a personal experience video of hearing voices. Method: A sample N=161 was used where participants filled in questionnaires regarding their behaviour against people who have been previously mentally ill. The questionnaires were filled before and after the participants watched an intervention video. Results: Initial results showed that the mean level of discrimination diminished after the intervention video was administered. A paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the two situations. Discussion: The study attested to the hypothesis whereby it noted a change in the mean level of discrimination. The findings also open room for further studies on the same. Introduction A lot of research has been done on the levels of discrimination towards individuals who receive psychiatric treatment. Some of the studies have sought to determine the degree of prejudice before and after intervention methods have been applied to...

This quote shows us there are many discrepancies between both fields. This quantitative study was conducted by Miss Margalit Toledano, from the “Management Communication Department” of The University of Waikato, New Zealand. By using questions compiled in the form of a survey, 39 New Zealand practitioners were tested. The research problem, questioned the influence of inter-profession challenges, by examining the differences between the PR and advertising industries (Toledano 230). This research problem is significant, because the results of the study showed that PR practitioners were not able to take advantage of the technology, such as social media, in an effort to leverage their professional status or improve their position within the company. This problem is made worse, through the reality that both PR and advertising are still looking for ways to benefit from social media, and both industries are still in the infancy stage of using social media. This research is important because “Social media......
