...Essay Questions Kristy Bazzanella Liberty University Essay Questions Assessment is a vital component in the counseling process. Use of both informal and formal assessment methods ensure that clinicians judgments are non-biased, and when utilized correctly aide in formulating of case conceptualizations and treatment plans (Whitson, 2013). The primary purpose of assessments, for the counselor, is to obtain information to effectively counsel clients. According to Whitson (2013), once all information is gained, the counselor, can “either formally or informally, diagnose the client” (p.285). It is critical that the counselor choose assessments that are both reliable and valid. The choice of assessment type and instrument will vary depending on the presenting problem, age, and cognitive and developmental state of client. Assessments will also vary according to settings. For example, the choice of assessment instruments utilized by a school counselor will differ greatly from the assessments utilized in a drug treatment or psychiatric facility. Assessments can have either a negative or positive impact on treatment planning. Counselors who use informal assessment techniques, such as unstructured interviews may find that the information gathered is not reliable and, therefore, prone to error (Whitson, 2013, p.111). Opening Your Mind and Formulating New Opinions

...Opening Your Mind and Formulating New Opinions Many people are strong headed and do not display their full feelings towards something; when they do, it’s usually an opinion of theirs that cannot be altered or even thought about changing. I too was once someone who was very close minded about a lot of things and only described my thoughts about a subject or issue to be quite once sided and would listen to other’s opinions about the same topic but never regarded to be meaningful. My experience with LSD has honestly opened my mind more in one way or another; mainly with accepting things for what they are and how they are presented to me. You can’t change how your brain interprets one concept to another you can only describe how you feel towards the issue or thought at hand. Only people who have seen goals and relationships between each other in a different light; can fully accept everything the way it is presented to them and appreciate the things we have that make us who we are today. Those are the people who create bonds with others and simply act as one when the time is right. I believe that relationships can be enhanced when two or more people share the little box theory, this is something that cannot be passed down to future generations. Now I’m not saying that this experience with LSD has made me open to just about everything because I’m not. I’m only stating that it has shifted the way I feel towards many different concepts and ideas such as social issues. How can......

...and services then your business is doomed to fail. Resourcefulness in a valuable skill for anyone, but I feel like it requires logic which would falls under left brain skills. Overall I would think a company would put more emphasis on a balanced person. Q2: When trying to build a company to last (in the long run), what are the THREE key factors that will most dramatically impact long-term firm performance? Explain how and why. Written down processes- When creating a company for the long run you need to make sure that everything has a written down process or policy. Uniformity for simple task can drive down labor cost because the more unskilled labor you can use the less you have to pay those replaceable people. There should be no question on what your company’s policies are, by having them written down it will clearly layout many grey areas to make them black and white. Building relationships- Building relationships with consumers and suppliers are key when building long-term business. It always cost a company more to gain a new customer than to retain an existing one. The same thing goes for business to business relationships, shopping for a new supplier cost time, time is the most valuable thing on the planet. Questions

...Please answer the following questions based on the video: 1. To what extent is our personality dictated by our genetic makeup?  Many of the personality traits that we have are either genetic or learned. For example, if a mother was loud and liked to express her opinion, as her daughter gets older, she has the same trait. This was both learned and genetic, because the genetic side was that it’s her mother and the learned side is because the young girl saw this as she grew up. 2. Is it formed by experience or do we inherit it?  Personality is formed by both experience and inheritance, just depends on how exactly the personality trait was formed by the individual. Many children copy what their parents do when they are younger, like cussing, fighting, or even acticing a certain way. Once they start getting older, many of the traits that we had when we were younger have gone away but a few stay. These are also inherited because they are traits that keep up with you in adulthood. 3. Provide an analysis of each panelist's viewpoint.  Prof. John Carey His biggest comebacks were science related. Prof. Peter McGuffin Peter’s point on twins were interesting. Twins that grew up in different areas, like separated at birth could live similar lives, is one thing that Peter seemed to talk about. ...Formulating Questions Grand Canyon University: EDA-577 Data – Driven Decisions for School Improvement May 4, 2011 School improvement teams and school improvement plans are developed and utilized to increase achievement levels of individual students and the school as a whole. Many schools today are facing diverse student populations, therefore making it difficult for the school to reach and maintain AYP on state assessments. When schools fail to meet AYP for three consecutive years, they move from being a school in good standing to a school in need of improvement. That is the problem that Jefferson Elementary School is currently facing. Jefferson has remained a school in good standing by using the safe harbor scoring, but has failed to reach AYP for the ELL subgroup of students. If Jefferson is not able to correct this situation and meet AYP requirements, they run the risk of being cited. The following chart depicts a school improvement plan that shows how Jefferson Elementary can potentially correct the issue of ELL students not meeting AYP requirements on NYS ELA Assessments. The ELL subgroup has been able to reach and maintain AYP on the NYS Math Assessments, but it is crucial that they continue to do so. The following proposed plan identifies and highlights necessary questions, objectives, resources, professional development, and strategies to ensure that the ELL subgroup makes AYP on the 2011 NYS assessments. Jefferson school currently funds their AIS......

..."I don’t know what you mean by ‘glory,’" Alice said. Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. "Of course you don’t - till I tell you. I mean ‘there’s a nice knock-down argument for you!’" "But ‘glory’ doesn’t mean ‘a nice knock-down argument,’" Alice objected. "When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.""The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things.""The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master -- that’s all." This passage from Alice in Wonderland is frequently cited. The reason is that the conversation between Alice and Humpty Dumpty summarizes neatly the argument advanced by many writers that language is a form of power that enables us to control other people. What do you think? Is Humpty Dumpty right in claiming that the master is the one who gets to decide what words will mean? Most Europeans agree that laws limiting freedom to prevent hate speech should be put in place. However, in the United States, anyone has the right to expression, even if it is constituted as a hate speech and also everyone has the right to express that opinion in public. Prohibiting hate speech and discriminatory opinions is unconstitutional in the US. As a result, racists have the right to express their opinion publicly but not to incite violence. Discuss in light of the conceptions of freedom. Cypher, a character from the Matrix, decides to......

Questions

...Question: Lately I’ve noticed that my employees spend way too much time texting when they should be working. Can you give me some guidance regarding text messaging in the workplace? I am not sure what I can and cannot do to prevent my employees from texting at work. Answer: Text messaging (or “texting”) has grown so quickly in popularity and has become so pervasive that it has become part of our workplace culture. Some recent statistics regarding text messaging demonstrate how incredibly popular it has become in the last several years: More than 70% of wireless users (or more than 200 million Americans) have an SMS (or “short message service”) package for their mobile device that allows for short text messages to be sent from one device to another. The use of text messaging increased by 107% in 2009. Approximately 2.5 billion text messages are sent each day in the United States. More text messages are now sent via cell phone than calls placed with those same phones. Employers can adopt a policy prohibiting text messaging at work. If text messaging continues, you can discipline employees for violating the policy because, as you note, employees who are texting while at work are not working. Because of the prevalence of text messaging, even if you ban text messaging during work hours, you should put some guidelines in place that address texting in the workplace and require that your employees comply with them. For instance, you should have a policy in......

...Chapter 2, 3 Questions: Chapter 2 Question 2. Resolve this ethical dilemma posed by Carl Kaufmann of Du Pont: Assume that federal health investigators are pursuing a report that one of your manufacturing plants has a higher-than-average incidence of cancer among its employees. The plant happens to keep excellent medical records on all its employees, stretching back for decades, which might help identify the source of the problem. The government demands the files. But if the company turns them over, it might be accused of violating the privacy of all those workers who had submitted to private medical exams. The company offers an abstract of the records, but the government insists on the complete files, with employee names. Then the company tries to obtain releases from all the workers, but some of them refuse. If you give the records to the feds, the company has broken its commitment of confidentiality. What would you do? 2. Answer: There are laws that are in place to protect employee’s privacy. If I was the owner of the plant I wouldn’t mind handing over the records but only if I got the employee’s to fill out a release form. By me doing this, it keeps employees morale and confidence in trusting that their privacy is being kept. By not getting permission, employee can take legal actions against the company; it would be in the best nature to only hand over the files that are released with permission. Unless presented with court orders, I make sure that legal counsel...
