Hilo Hattie vs Ron Jon Surf shops and website comparison
The initial idea that I see with these two companies is that they both cater to a specific market of surf style, beach goer, and active lifestyles directly. They both offer specific categories of sales markets on the websites such as men, women, kids, and sale sections. They both also have links to social media to spread news of ecommerce on Face book, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. However, Hilo Hattie ( http://www.hilohattie.com/) is definitely very proud of the fact that they are only based in the Hawaiian Islands which gives a cultural edge over the other websites aimed at the same market. Hilo Hattie also offers items that would be indigenous to only Hawaii such as fruit, flowers, local style jewelry, and USS Arizona commemorative items of Pearl Harbor. The ideal of the fact that the stores are all based in Hawaii adds an appeal of a more exotic and unique flavor and style. Therefore, if you receiving something from there it required more thought from whom you received the items .
Despite the exotic appeal of Hilo Hattie’s surf shop I think that Ron Jon Surf Shops (http://www.ronjonsurfshop.com/) is a much more recognized name in my opinion. The company has also looked at a lot more business opportunities. They have expanded their market by also tapping into the skateboarding market among other things. They also have an extensive merchandising unit that covers a lot of items such as drinkware, home decorations, watches, clothing, swimwear, surfboards, wetsuits, bags, and die-cast Volkswagon collectibles. Along with that they have also have a very up-to-date social media sharing which includes instagram. They have also had some collaborations with some major big name companies in the surfing world such as Billabong, Hurley, Quiksilver, and more http://www.ronjonsurfshop.com/men/collaboration.aspx.…...

Surf Salsa Business Letter

...August 6, 2013 Surf Salsa 2201 Salsa Verde Lane San Diego, CA 92115 Dear Mr. Vito: We have been working together and utilizing Vito’s Best Food Supply as our vendor for over 10 years. It has been a wonderful relationship and I look forward to continued cooperation with your company. I wish to meet with you regarding the latest email received directly from you regarding a $50 service fee being added to each order delivery. Let me first apologize for not following up to our brief conversation we had at our last contract signing with respect to increasing fuel costs. I understand that this is an industry-wide problem and many companies are attempting to offset rising fuel costs, but the impact to Surf Salsa will become prohibitive to continued business growth. In Ventura County alone, we average more than 200 annual deliveries from you for each of our four stores, equating to over $10,000 in increased costs per store. Our profit margins will become excessively low and possibly result in store closures. I’d like to offer some possible alternative solutions we could discuss further during our meeting such as progressive rate increases or meeting halfway on fuel costs. I’m disappointed in the manner to which you have informed Surf Salsa of this new service fee, but would like the opportunity to discuss further and maintain our cohesive business partnership. I would like a meeting at your earliest convenience, please contact me at 619-555-1149. I will......

Financial Verses Managerial Accounting

...Fundamentals of Accounting: Managerial verses Financial Accounting Fundamentals of Accounting acct122 Fundamentals of Accounting: Managerial verses Financial Accounting What has the organization in its focus; futuristic planning, financial control, and data based decision making affecting its reports and suggestions; and an emphasis on relevance and timeliness in its decision making (2012)? The answer to this question is managerial accounting. According to J. W. Jones (2013), a retired managerial accountant, her job and other positions with the title are responsible for reporting financial information to the company’s administration and parties outside of her organization such as stockholders or creditors; however, her focus was the internal accounting services and needs of the business’s management. Mrs. Jones confirms there is a difference between managerial and financial accounting. Her career choice was managerial accounting which specialized in helping gather and communicate the information needed to set the company’s long term objectives and goals for cost control, revenue strengths and weaknesses, and profit data statistics within in local departments, regional and often territorial plants. At times, Mrs. Jones found herself working with certain data regarding customer groups and how they would be affecting that business segment in the future. This differed from financial accounting in that the latter would handle the matter from a historical......

A Influência Do Surf No Turismo

Surf Excel Ad Analysis

...Advertisement 6Surf Excel’s Advertisement(Brother & Sister Duo) Hindustan Unilever Limited introduced Surf in 1959, introducing the first detergent powder into the country. At the time, housewives used laundry soap bars to washclothes. Surf offered them significantly better clean, with much less effort. The promise of ‘superlative whiteness’ – the articulation of a great clean at the time, connected with consumers and helped to establish the brand. Surf was the first national detergent brand on TV; the brand used TV to effectively educate their consumers on how to use detergent powders in a bucket for a better wash. Surf Excel made a big “splash” with their “Daag Achhe Hain” advertising campaign. The following is an analysis of the first such commercial. The advertisement features a brother and sister duo walking home from school, when the little girl falls into a puddle of mud. Crying, she looks to her brother for help. Her brother gets an idea and starts “beating up” the puddle of mud, demanding an apology. After a time and a lot of mud on his uniform, he stands up and says, “Sorrybola.” The narrator then removes all apprehensions of dirt and stains and says, “Daag Acche Hain.”This advertisement is universally well-loved. This is so because it does a lot of things right. It makes use of children’s appeal to get the advertising message across. The advertisement does what seldom others do cater to the emotions and sentiments of the viewers – and succeeds with it.......

Lease Verses Purchase Paper

...Lease Verses Purchase Paper Jane Jones FIN/370 February 23, 2015 John Doe Lease Verses Purchase Paper When it comes time for a company to make a substantial investment, they are faced with the decision of whether to lease or purchase. Businesses need to take into consideration many factors when they are making these ideal decisions such as; the tax ramifications, time, money and what is best for the growth of the company. It is important to have a financial plan in place that will examine not only the benefits, but also the possible potential losses when making these important decisions. There are many relevant factors to consider in making a lease versus purchase decision. There are the obvious cash outflows to consider such as rent payments or loan payments and initial outlay. There are repairs and maintenance to factor. There are also tax-deductible expenses such as interest payments, tax savings such as depreciation expense to calculate. Other important factors include the duration that the equipment will be in use, the interest rate for a loan, and residual or salvage value of the equipment. Another factor to consider is the production issues that are based on consumer demands for these new products. Customers’ needs continually change so it is important that the right decisions are made that will meet those needs without affecting the organization in a negative way. Under some circumstances, leasing will be the best option while in other instances purchasing......

Globalization and the Surf Industry

...Petersen 1 ! Zachary Petersen Professor Edward Park FFYS 1000-27 12 October 2015 Has Globalization Rode Too Far Into the Surf Industry? The modern surfboard building industry was started in a backyard by a couple of friends, trying create a foam based surfboard to make something they could have more fun on in the ocean. They created an amazing product, proceeded to make boards for their friends, and later teach their friends to make surfboards. A culture was solidified and the techniques were handed down verbatim to the new board builders. The overwhelming sense of tradition and respect for the roots of the craft is strongly woven into the every individual in todays industry (prior to the start of Asian manufacturing of surfboard “pop-outs”). For these reasons amongst others, the board building industry is different than most other industries and does not follow normal patterns of globalization. The advancements in technology over the years, opportunities for cheaper labor and alternate materials have not changed the way the industry operates. Even with the addition of technology and manufacturing procedures, the fundamentals of how a board is made has not changed since it was first made in the late 50s. The industry is very exclusive, but not closed. There has been no opposition to globalization; globalization has kept the industry progressing forward. Most master shapers (people who sculpt the surfboard) and glassers (people who do the fiberglass......

The Satanic Verses

...discontinuous, metamorphic, -because when you throw everything up in the air anything becomes possible -- wayupthere, at any rate, changes took place in delirious actors that would have gladdened the heart of old Mr. Lamarck: under extreme environmental pressure, characteristics were acquired. What characteristics which? Slow down; you think Creation happens in a rush? So then, neither does revelation . . . take a look at the pair of them. Notice anything unusual? Just two brown men, falling hard, nothing so new about that, you may think; climbed too high, got above themselves, flew too close to the sun, is that it? That's not it. Listen: Mr. Saladin Chamcha, appalled by the noises emanating from Gibreel Farishta's mouth, fought back with verses of his own. What Farishta heard wafting across the improbable night sky was an old song, too, lyrics by Mr. James Thomson, seventeenhundred to seventeen-forty-eight. ". . . at Heaven's command," Chamcha carolled through lips turned jingoistically redwhiteblue by the cold, "arooooose from out the aaaazure main." Farishta, horrified, sang louder and louder of Japanese shoes, Russian hats, inviolately subcontinental hearts, but could not still Saladin's wild recital: "And guardian aaaaangels sung the strain." Let's face it: it was impossible for them to have heard one another, much less conversed and also competed thus in song. Accelerating towards the planet, atmosphere roaring around them, how could they? But let's face this, too:......

...Old Testament Bible Verses The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.  Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.  1 Samuel 16:7 Surely, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. Isaiah 42:16 The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! Isaiah 30:18 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Nature Verses Nurture

...Nature Verses Nurture The discussion on the importance of heredity and environment in human development is not new. The nature verses nurture question has been debated for years (Psychology). Nurture side of the debate considers all the environmental influences on an individual after conception. While the nature side of the debate focus on nature that which is inherited, or know as genetics. The nature verse nurture discussion has been a part of the history of psychology that goes back to Francis Galton. Galton was influenced by the book, The Origin of Species written by his cousin, Charles Darwin. The Origin of Species has been criticized for over simplifying two theories of why a lifestyle of wealth, education and privilege seems to be passed on to biological children. Galton takes credit for the phrase in his English Men of Science: Their Nature and Nurture, first published in 1874. In this book he states that nature and nurture are, "a convenient jingle of words, for it separates under two distinct heads the innumerable elements of which personality is composed. Nature is all that a man brings with himself into the world and nurture is every influence that affects him after his birth” (p.12). It is thought that how one is nurtured is what controls the psychological aspects of child development and the concept of growth applies to the biological facets of human life.  When infants bonds to the individual(s) bestowing love and affection, she/he has received,......
