Every hospital has to provide care whenever anybody is in need of it with the highest quality possible. American Hospital Association has a mission for helping the members improve the quality of care that they are providing on a day to day basis. The main function of it has been to provide the information on the possible ways to provide.
Patient safety has always been the priority for the hospitals as well as the health care delivery systems; however, improving the safety can be very hard especially if your organization or system is large. The large non-profit health care organizations have a need for a data base or a system the will provide these strategies for helping it improve its patient safety. ( Frankel, 2003)
American health care has been increasingly put under strain by many factors. Problems are increasing in regard to cost and coordination of care, the lack of access, and the rise in the chronic illnesses which affect every part of the population in one way or another. Improving quality and safety of the health care is important for overcoming despite the problems in healthcare system. The system needs to be changed by making the health care more efficient and safer. We also have the ability to improve quality of care and health of population as the whole through knowledge on how to prevent the different ailments. Healthcare industry in US does not escape these problems and is suffering day to day with distinction of being worldwide recognized to provide less than the optimal service and the outcomes at very high cost (Allan Frankel, 2003).
