...in business, in sports or in family, teams can play a significant role in the success of a purpose. In academia, teams come together to complete learning projects. In sports, teams are formed to win championships. In business, teams may be created to meet a specific objective. Men and women marry, have children and become teams within their community with goals specific to their core values. One common denominator that all these teams require for success is effective communication.  In business, the benefits of a successful team are many. Projects gain the benefit of expertise and strength of several instead of one. Teams can come together and offer brainstorming solutions – something a single individual cannot provide. Flaws in ideas and design are more likely to be discovered in groups. Teams can bond workers together in a common goal, thereby improving loyalty and moral for a company.  According to best selling authors Peters and Waterman (2004) In Search of Excellence the true power of small groups in business lie in their flexibility. Teams can be formed for specific purposes and do not need to fit into any one specific division, and this lack of formality allows them to become an effective problem-solving tool. They have the empowerment necessary to make change and provide implementation without the bureaucratic overhead found elsewhere.  Men and women come together with a common purpose, but rather than using words like “teams”, terminology changes to words......

International

...International marketing is the use of advertising standards in more than one nation, by organizations abroad or beyond national borders. It is an act of considering international tastes and trends in order to market a particular product globally. International marketing is an expansionary version of a locally produced marketing plan which takes into account marketing identification, targeting, and decisions internationally. It is essential for global marketing teams to understand and perceive the local cultures, trend and traditions to ensure efficient marketing campaign. Advertising methods and language used need to be appropriately chosen to prevent any adverse impact on the potential consumers leading to loss of sales. A complete and meaningful marketing plan should be developed consisting of marketing techniques, budgets and strategies. McDonald's first established in India was in the year 1996. The company made endeavours to overcome the misunderstanding that Indians had in the beginning about the product being western..Considering the fact that Indians avoid pork , bacon and meat, McDonald's should print out an absolute vegetarian menu to satisfy the local consumers that the meals are in line with their tastes and preferences. Distinct forms of mass media can also be used, for instance, billboards, brochures or posters. Team of Teams

...Ayla Kohler Professor Golden Executive Forum CRN 97499 December 3rd, 2015 General McChrystal’s book, Team of Teams, contains chapters with examples of war and business strategies that provide valuable lessons.  I will present seven important lessons that stood out to me in the book, Team of Teams. In the first chapter a practical lesson the author addresses is understanding the environment an opposing force operates in and adapting to that environment to overcome the challenge. Overall we must embrace change, it does not matter how well you can play a game, if you’re not playing an opponent, you will never win. A well known company that is a perfect example that absolutely failed to embrace this lesson, is Blockbuster. Blockbuster failed to adapt and change to the technology their customers demanded. They were excellent at offering movie rentals, they had a wide selection and affordable prices but their competitors were changing to the environment and profited, whole Blockbuster went bankrupt. A second lesson that is important to remember in any industry is that efficiency is necessary but not sufficient. An example McChrystal gives is the construction of the “Maginot Line, the modern day Chinese Wall”. Although its purpose was to avoid trench warfare it was insufficient to airplanes and new tech tanks. France was the host country of the Maginot Line and surrendered after only two months during World War two. A third lesson McChrystal explains is “ in spite of our......

Teams

...Teams Alexandria Aguirre Dr. Nate CotePrinciples of Supervision 1 (D50)Dona Ana Community College | What are teams? Why are they important? When you think about teamwork, you may recognize effective, productive teams. You may also recognize groups of individuals who have been put together to work on a task who just don't seem to make the same progress. Your answer as to what a team is may be working together with other people to figure out a problem; and you are exactly correct. Teams are better in some situations, but not necessary needed in all. In fact, they may have some disadvantages that are inappropriate for the work place. Teams typically outperform individuals when the tasks being done require multiple skills, judgment, and experience, but when the individual isn’t a team player, teams are just about as good as the individual himself. (Robbins and DeCenzo 275-84) Many times, teams are often confused with groups. Teams and groups are similar, but not completely. What differentiates both is that in a team, the members are committed to a common purpose, have a set of specific performance goals, and hold themselves equally responsible for the team’s results. A group is individuals working interdependent who come together to reach a particular objective. There are four types of teams that carry different level of effectiveness. They are: a working group, a pseudo team, a potential team, and a real team. In a working group, there is no work or opportunity to......

...Introduction Teams are a vital part of doing work within the workplace and the Department of Defense. I am assigned to a team for my day-to-day work duties and I am often times assigned to a team developed to resolve a specific issue. In this paper I will attempt to describe the group dynamics of my team and how the team leader impacts the teams performance. The Team The team that I am assigned to is one of five within my department. The team is designed to cover several areas within Logistics and is primarily responsible for Integrated Logistics policy and the associated systems. The team consists of eight members of varying backgrounds, education, and ages. Each member has an assigned area of responsibility of which they are considered subject matter experts (SME). This responsibility requires that the SME be up-to-date and aware of any changes that will impact the current policy or business processes associated with it. This particular team is very productive and well functioning because the members are very well rounded and mission-oriented. Most team members not only know their area of responsibility, but also are capable of covering the area of another teammate in their absence. The team members are not only concerned with the other team members at work, but area also concerned with the well-being of the members themselves and their families.
