Dear Mrs. Punich,
I am interested in pension benefits processing and I would like to inquire about the positions at CTPF. Since being employed here as a temp in the Pension Benefits Administration department, I have come to learn much more about CTPF and its purpose. I have been introduced to many key functions in the pension benefits processing department and have mastered them successfully. This includes processing service estimates as well as reciprocal estimates for active members, verifying service and salaries for reciprocal systems, reviewing applications for members who have applied to retire, to insure accuracy and that all supporting documents are on file, and sending correspondence to members to acknowledge receipt of their pension applications and/or to request additional information, if needed, as well as other things.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at Devry University and my MBA in the same discipline, at Keller Graduate School of Management. I am currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analysis from Keller Graduate School of Management.
My resume, which is enclosed, contains additional information on my experience and skills. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the Pension Benefits Administrator position with you and to provide further information on my candidacy. I can be reached via my cell phone, 331.203.1583 or by email at koleskyy@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about this exciting opportunity.
Regards,

...Concerns of Federal Reserve Raising Interest Rates Sharon Cordero Post University Abstract In the midst of a struggling economy were food and energy prices are rising and long-term US Treasury yields approached their highest levels since the start of the year, concerns about higher inflation, have compelled investors to scale back their buying of long-dated Treasuries and European government bonds. As rates rise, the present values of home prices will fall, creating less “equity” for homeowners. Therefore, consumers will be less willing and less able to buy. The Fed tries to indirectly influence other interest rates (especially the federal funds rate) by buying or selling U.S. Securities on a large scale. They do this by buying bonds in mass quantities. Concerns Over Raising Interest Rates The Federal Reserve is the central bank of the United States, created by an act of Congress in 1913. The Federal Reserve sets and enforces the specific legal reserve requirements. There are several well-known types of lending interest rates that the federal reserve and banks charge to banks and consumers and which affect the interest rates that we have to pay for autos or mortgage loans. The discount rate is the rate that the Federal Reserve Bank charges to banks and other financial institutions to borrow short-term funds directly from the central bank. (Heyne, 352) The discount rate affects the rates these financial......

Interest Groups

...WEEK 8 ASSIGNMENT Interest Groups Professor Karina Arzumanova U.S. Goverment An Interests Group is defined as an organization of people or a letterhead organization, sharing a common interest or goal that seeks to influence the making of public policy. In the American political system, there are a wide variety of interest groups that are organized for the sole purpose of exerting influence on the political and legal systems. These groups play a central role in deciding who gets what, when, where and how in legislative and budget processes. They also play a significant role in deciding which values will be promoted and enforced by the government. When individuals have common interests, it often makes sense for them to join together in pursuit of those interests. When this happens, a special interest group is formed. These groups then compete for a share of the limited resources distributed through the political process. While many groups are formed to compete for economic resources, others are formed to support their positions on issues like abortion and gun control. The limited resource these groups compete for is not money or real estate but rather the use of governmental power to enforce a particular set of values. At the group level, it makes sense for groups to form and do the things they do. However, at the individual level, there are powerful incentives to be a free rider. If a group is pursuing your interests even though you, as an individual,......

...Ryan Boudreaux 1517 South Morgan Ave. Broussard, LA, 70518 (337) 552-8898 rboudreaux31@yahoo.com April 1, 2014 Internship Review Committee Letter of Interest LHS Health Academy 3000 W Congress St. Lafayette, LA, 70506 Dear Internship Review Committee, I am interested in participating in the internship program at Lafayette High next year. The main health care career I am intent on following is nursing. My mother, Charlene Boudreaux, who works at UHC, has inspired me to become an RN. Seeing what she does on and off the clock has shown me how her job really works. This has been my career goal since I was younger. Since my mother works at UHC, I have some knowledge of how things work at the hospital and I know the general locations of departments. Interning there would be my first choice because it would be a lot easier for me to get use to the hospital. My second option would have to be Lafayette General. I have family members who have and are currently working there that tell me that it is a great facility and lively atmosphere. My third option would be Our Lady of Lourdes if I am not able to have the any of the other options. Participating in the internship program can make or break my liking or becoming of a nurse. I would notice whether I like or dislike this health care field. If I were to go blind into nursing school- not having any experience- there is always a possibility of not enjoying it. Internship is critical in my eyes just because I will......

...far more terrible one. It died because I had no hope left, I had no reason left for its existence to continue. It died of blindness, alone, stabbed by the daggers of errors and betrayals. My aspect dies because of the illness and wounds that neglect leaves, it dies of weariness and witherings. What matters now, of course, is that he is dead. What matters now, of course, is that in his fall, in his descent, in his transformation into me, the vilest of all aspects, but perhaps the safest, he suffers another death, the death of oblivion. There are none to hold his Vigil, to light a candle in his name, or to safely remember his true name till the time he lives again. All he has left is me, his worst nightmare, holding his wake, a wake of letters and no memories. A wake that you unfortunately have attended. With this, I bid you farewell and leave you with this question. what happens when the boy dies and only an abyss is left?...

...compensation are tied to a benchmark, companies must disclose where actual payments and awards fall within the targeted range and, if applicable, the reason for any compensation amounts that fall outside the targeted range. 2.4 Disclosure of Performance Targets Companies must disclose company and individual performance targets for incentive compensation and the actual achievement level against the targets if they are material elements of the company’s compensation policies and decisions, unless the disclosure would result in competitive harm to the company. 6 EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE HANDBOOK Since adoption of the rules, the SEC has consistently focused on this disclosure requirement and to date has issued more comment letters to companies on this item of disclosure than any other. The SEC has also clarified that although the general rules regarding disclosure of non-GAAP financial measures (Regulation G) do not apply to disclosure regarding performance-related target levels, a company must disclose how the target levels are calculated from its audited financial statements. Š Threshold Question Is Materiality. A company must first determine whether performance targets are a material element of the company’s compensation policies and decisions. If performance targets are not material, then the company is not required to disclose them. Whether performance targets are material is a facts-and-circumstances test, which a company must evaluate in good faith. The......

...November carjacking.[5] Trial and appeals The 26-year-old victim picked out Dupree and Massingill from a police lineup, but her male companion did not. Dupree was charged with armed robbery and rape, but was never tried on the rape charge. In 1980, he was convicted and sentenced to 75 years in prison for aggravated robbery. Three of Dupree's appeals were rejected by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.[1] Two of the appeals were denied because he refused to admit to being a sex offender.[6] He declined early release in 2004 in exchange for attending a treatment program for offenders because he felt it would have amounted to admitting guilt.[4] Dupree later said, "Whatever your truth is, you have to stick with it."[6] Dupree continued to write letters to people and organizations around the state in his bid to prove his innocence.[7] Exoneration In 2006, the Innocence Project took Dupree's case and carried out a forensic examination of the case evidence in 2010.[1] He was represented by a legal team that included project co-founder Barry Scheck.[8] Dupree was paroled in July 2010 and married his longtime fiancée Selma Perkins the day after his release.[6] Soon afterwards,[1] test results indicated that the evidence contained DNA from two men, but not Dupree nor Massingill.[4] Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins stated, "Our Conviction Integrity Unit thoroughly reinvestigated this case, tested the biological evidence and based on the results, concluded Cornelius......

...Letter Dear Mr. President, Civic and political participation is important for citizens because everyone has the responsibility to stand up for what they believe in. Citizens in America enjoy writing letters to important leaders to receive informative feedback on their thoughts. Citizen’s words effect how the laws change in many ways, for example, by voting. Eleanor Roosevelt influenced change through speaking about civil rights. ER was committed to standing up for African American rights. She was so active in racial injustice that the FBI had a 4000 page dossier about ER pertaining to her civil rights activities. “J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI, even speculated that "Negro blood" inspired ER's perverse behavior.” “She was considered America's most influential First Lady, she started new paths for women and led the battle for social justice everywhere. Today she is still a powerful inspiration to leaders in both the civil rights and women's movements. Eleanor shattered the usual submissive mold that the role of the First Lady had traditionally been fashioned, and reshaped it around her own skills and her commitment to social reform. She gave a voice to people who did not have power.” Others benefit from ER’s actions by getting all the credit that she stood up for women and their rights. If it wasn’t for Eleanor’s contributions we women would not get all the credit that we deserve. Eleanor Roosevelt’s deserves a holiday that would celebrate her and all her......

While the league tries not to turn any child away from playing it is getting harder due lack of financial sponsorships. Our league prides ourselves in helping many families with multiple children, and families that can’t afford the cost of the neighbor leagues, which can cost up to $180 for one child. The league does ask the girls to participle in fund raisers to help offset some of these costs. But with your help the league will be able to help more girls and families. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If I may, I will phone your office in the next few days to arrange a convenient time to discuss the details of the proposed partnership. ...Alexus Harris January 26, 2010 History 114 2:00 - 2:30 p.m Willie Lynch Letter: The Making of a Slave In the first paragraph of the Willie Lynch Letter introduction, he started thanking the men of the colony of Virginia for inviting him to the bank of the James River. Mr. Lynch was making the men of the plantation think that, installing the chip into the slaves will make everything run easily. He also stated that if the chip were implant into the minds of slaves, Ancient Rome would envy us as black people. Personally, I think the only reason that the Ancient Rome will envy us as slaves, because we let a method of the chip control our mind, body, soul, values, and beliefs. Mr. Lynch also stated that negative differences are better then positive differences. Just think about it. Why? Would Distrust be better then Trust, this is setting our slaves up to be lynch in my eyes. As a slave, you want freedom so; you are going to want your master to trust you so that you can escape. Mr. Lynch finally, said that over time if you constantly used the method for one year, then slaves will already no what they are expecting to perform. In the paragraph “Let’s Make a Slave,” it was focusing on the process of man breaking and slave making. This means that installing the chip into our black men will allow them to become more of a servant that helps the white man lynch other slaves. It also focused on human nature, and slave nature. Human......

...Thank you for your treat. He told me it is very interesting to translate your letters because he also learned a lot, like learn the exchange rate at that period. 信 These letters he translated reminded me of the letters my grandpa wrote to me (Although he passed away,) My father helped him bind the letters together into book form. That is only for private circulation. My grandfather ever said he had there homes, one was Guangzhou, Zhanjiang and hospital. At the start with, we whole family lived in Zhanjiang city, where was at southwestern of Guangdong province. When I was 3 years old, my parents with me moved to Guangzhou. So, one-third for Guangzhou, one-third for Zhanjiang and one-third for hospital due to his cardiovascular disease….. [ˌkɑ:diouˋvæskjulə] When he was in Zhanjiang, he wrote two letters to me each week since I studied in primary (elementary) school until I went to high school. Every letter focused on one topic which mostly talked about life, (like how to be a good student and how to behave properly……..) One of the most impression letters he wrote was it was my first time to raise a puppy when I was studied in Grade6 primary school. Via the letter, he taught me many knowledge of puppy, like the types of the dog, different functions of the dog and always warned me not to be the people who lost in play will lose their aims. 人: He was one of the members of War of Resistance against Japan but he was a secretary of the General. 食物: Avocado......

...hanging out together. Lately I've been thinking about the way that we always compete with each other and it's really starting to get to me. I know that it's not always intentional, but it just seems like you enjoy getting into those little arguements that we seem to almost always come across. You and I have alot of the same personality traits, yet we also seem like total opposites at times. You are a really funny/crazy guy and that's why I like to hang out with you, but sometimes you really get to me and you push my buttons. Darin, you argue with me about the stupidest things and you always have to get the last word in. Sometimes I know that I'm really the one who's right, but I let you win just so that you'll shut up. Don't take this letter personal, I'm not trying to put you down, I just thought I'd bring it to your attention before it starts to affect our friendship. I don't want to keep my feelings and thoughts all bottled up inside me and I know you've been really busy lately, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to write it all down on paper. We have a really cool friendship and I don't want to continue to have these stupid competitions with you. You are probably one of the coolest, most unique guys I've ever met and I want to keep hanging out and doing normal guy stuff, but you have to be willing to make the effort too. Please try to bite your tongue when you think that you're about to disagree with my opinions and I'll do the same with you. I hope that you don't take......

The Letter a

...I constructed the letter A. The way I built my letter resembled an isoceles triangle. My letter has two sides that are the same length and two of base angles are the same in length. The definintion of an isoceles triangle is a triangle with two sides of equal length and two congruent base angles. The letter A I built and isoceles triangle are almost a perfect match. Another geometry concept that connectes with my letter, A was an acute angle. An acute angle is an angle that is less than 90 degrees. The triangle inside the letter A I constructed has an acute angle. The triangle has 3 angles that are acute all are less than 90 degrees and will add up to 180 degrees. The final concept I thought my letter connects with is parallel lines. The two lines in the center of the letter A are parallel to eachother, the two lines will never cross eachother or intersect. Parallel lines are lines in a plane that will not touch, cross, or intersect even when the lines are extended. The two lines in the center are not the only ones that are parallel to each other, the one line on top of my letter and the other thats on the bottom are also parallel. Those are the three geometry concepts I thought my letter connected with. My first semester of geometry did not go as well as I would have liked it to go. I failed most of the tests and quizzes because I was not responsible and did not do the homework assigned and study the reviews given. Despite all my failures this semester I always went to......
