Love in L.A.
Towards the middle of the story after the accident happened he was asked for a copy of his license. Jake lied and said he did have one when in fact he did not. He then offered to write down his information on a piece of paper. He had to make a decision when she asked for his phone number. He chose to make up a phone number instead of giving Mariana a real phone number. The reason he made that decision was because he had already written on a piece of paper a made up last name, address, and also he wrote the name of an insurance company an old girl- friend once belonged to. So it would not have been very smart to give her the right phone number. After Jake made that decision he was able to leave free knowing that he would not have to be responsible for the damage he caused on the girls car. I completely disagree with his actions, if I was the character in that same position I would have given the girl the right information because it is wrong to lie to someone and have them be responsible for someone else’s mistakes. Not just that it seemed to me like he had something for the girl and obviously the girl’s actions showed that she had something for him. If he had not lied to her then maybe he would have been able to actually call her like she asks him to towards the end of the…...

La Bayedere

...Feldman Model La Bayadere Houston’s ballet, La Bayadere choreographed by Stanton Welch is a type of world class dance with professional dancers. The beautiful yet plain lighting of the theater gives the audience a perception of how well the performance is presented. The theater is quite spacious and is very suitable for a world class theater performance. The overall look of the theater itself gives off a professional look to it and is quite impressive to the audience. Upon entering, the audience can see a beautiful painted background that represents a palace on water with a scene of the Taj Mahal. The music is based on classical ballet music and grows louder and whenever danger is represented in the scene. For example, the transition of the very beginning than to the scene of the tiger grows much louder. In the opening scene of La Bayadere, the lights are on Solor who kills the man-eating tiger that has been causing danger to the village that is nearby. There is a performer wearing red and jumps up and down and the viewer can tell that it portrays the man-eating tiger. Also, there is red fire burning from the centerpiece on the stage. Later on, Nikiya comes out and gracefully thanks Solor in the form of beautiful ballet dancing. Moreover, the viewer can tell the profound chemistry between both Nikiya and Solor. In the beginning, there were about twenty people crouching down, but the audience had their eyes on the main performer in the scene which was the tiger. The use......

......it was about 12 hours). 3. In a medium bowl mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until it all looks nice and crumbly (like small pebbles, according to P-Dub). Place in a ziploc bag and put in fridge. 4. When ready to bake, take pan and bag out of fridge. Remove wrap and evenly sprinkle the crumb mixture over the top. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees (or 45 minutes if you like it more soft and pudding-like). Notes: • You can serve with syrup, but we made a quick glaze with powdered sugar and milk. Delish! • If you don't have brown sugar, mix 1/2 Tbsp. molasses with 1/2 cup sugar until well blended. • Like I said, you can bake it for less time if you like it softer, but I love how the top gets crispy when it's baked for an hour. The underneath part is still somewhat soft. One hour in my 350-oven was just right. • The directions said to scoop out, but I wanted to be able to control the portions so I cut it into 12 servings (they were large, and this is rich, so you could serve other breakfast dishes and use this as more of a side dish and get 24 servings). If you like this dish click LIKE and share it with your friends. :) --INGREDIENTS 1 package regular Oreo cookies (Not Double Stuff) – about 36 cookies ... 6 Tablespoon butter, melted 1- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup granulated sugar 2 Tablespoons cold milk 1- 12 ounce tub Cool Whip, divided 2 – 3.9 ounce packages Chocolate......

Love and Death in Keats’ “La Belle Dame Sans Merci” In poetry the most important things are to express feelings and to tell a story. Obviously most of the time these poems are about life, death, the meaning of life, love, but it can also tell a complete story. Throughout the history, basically every poet has written about love and death. Because of the fact that these themes surround our whole life, it is not surprising that these topics have an impact on people’s mind, and they have to deal with these in a way, and poetry is perfect for this. People have always been interested in the question of death, the unfulfilled love and suffering, and because of the fact that these feelings are related to every people in the world somehow, these poems, which deal with these themes, are considered to be the most beautiful ones. These works can be understood easily, and readers can feel close to the poet’s feelings. In the early 19th century, in Europe, people became interested in the folk roots of literature. Poets want to show the natural, ancient state...

Love Is Hard to Find in La

...Love is Hard to Find in L.A. After reading Love in LA and A Food Man is Hard to Find, it becomes clear at first that the stories are very different, though, with a deeper look you can start to see a few subtle similarities. Love in LA tells the story of a young man named Jake, who ironically only seems to love himself. Jake has a very brief encounter with a woman named Marina after the two have a fender-bender while navigating through LA traffic. A Good Man is Hard to Find tells the story of a family that is going on vacation which goes horribly awry after what seems to be a major accident, and the ironic run-in with the worst man possible known as “The Misfit”. Characters and Their Morals In “Love in LA”, every step of the way it seems that Jake’s decisions were all selfish and inconsiderate. From giving fake information after the accident to claiming to have “been in a few movies” in hopes of getting a phone number, it is apparent that Jake’s outlook on life is heavily revolved around his own well-being without the consideration of others. We are given very little information about Marina’s point of view on things. She is portrayed as innocent and even considerate when she talks about her dad being disappointed if she didn’t report the accident. Her final words make her seem almost gullible for falling for Jake’s charm when she says “call me” before departing. In “A good Man is Hard to Find” the main character is the grandmother of the family. In the first page of the......

Love Is Love

...marriage are stripped from same-sex couples, not giving the equal right to be with the person they love and care for and what to build a life together with. Love is love, why should it be based on who you are in love with? When looking a same-sex marriage, I wonder if a person is making the choice to be with someone of the same sex, or if it is all they know and feel is right for them. Would there be a connection with who you love and how the brain works, after some research and watching a video by Helen Fisher, an Anthropologist and preeminent researcher in the field of human affection from Rutgers University I was able to better understand how the brain connects with love. Helen speaks about how she feels the brain works when you’re madly in love, the brain can tell so much about love, how it can be divided into three systems and how each systems leads to different stages of a relationship. Love starts deep in the ventral tegmental area, the hypothalamus, and the nucleus accumbens. She talks about the reward system, a system that receives messages from the brain rather it is a craving, an addiction, even an interacted with a person. It can simply be an attraction, an attachment or a sexual relationship. Within her research there is a starting point for love, and it begins with the caudate nucleus which sits deep in the center of our brains. There are different stages of love each have a particular role with the relationship progression, when looking at how a......
