Hsbc Operational Management Report

...Currently, there have been reports that the country is experiencing problems with their ATM machines. Customers are unable to use their ATM cards to access their accounts. The administrative sector is also having problems involving registration of clients to their newly introduced Advance Credit cards. The process has become strenuous for its customers. This study aims at identifying the problems and resolving it through operations management theories in gaining global competitiveness. According to the theories of operations management, organizations can solve their problems in three distinct ways. The six-sigma approach suggests identifying the defects and solving them afterwards. The lean approach, similarly advocates for the identification of defects though it focuses more on the wastes. After identification of such wastes, it is plausible to eliminate them. Contrary to that, the theory of constraints suggests that in every organizational structure, there is a limit. Identification of these constraints should be solved by redesigning the operational process. Furthermore, drawing examples from banks, which have suffered similar problems, facilitates the solving process for the concern. Thereby, a combination of experiences by other banks and insights from operational theories, HSBC would be able to solve and even prevent the bank from experiencing transactional and administration problems. Introduction In every organization, project management and business strategy......

...Marketing Management Report The Concept My concept is an end-to-end e-waste management company dedicated to environmental stewardship with advanced recycling technology, and to extract high quality metals by rendering innovative e-waste management solutions with fastest turn-around time from e-waste to economically viable metals. This company will solve and meet three critical needs: 1. It will give municipalities and companies a cost effective alternative to landfilling and rerouting the generated e-waste. 2. It will regularize the current fragmented e-waste management industry, which consists of collectors, recyclers, transporters, smelters etc and will provide end-to-end e-waste management solutions to produce economically viable metals. 3. It will use latest metal extraction and e-waste recycling technology to produce metals that will help to meet growing demand for environmentally viable metals. The recycled metals will be targeted towards electronics manufacturers, metal traders, and equipment manufacturers. Additionally, the company will offer a service to, e-waste storage and recycling plants by municipalities, sellers and manufacturers of EEE (electrical and electronic equipment). Currently, these municipalities and companies face several issues regarding the disposal of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment). Landfills are filling up fast and current e-waste management solutions are not adequate to meet the ever increasing inflow of waste....

Management Report

... Management report on supply chain management and quality management ---based on a case of Mattel recall scandal 1. Introduction Experiencing a steady growth, global toy industry has attracted many research in studying this field, in which one of the largest toy manufacturers Mattel Inc. suffered from a recall scandal in 2007. This essay directs at exploring reasons that lead to Mattel’s operation failure in this scandal regarding two key frameworks in global operation management, namely, supply chain management and quality management. Providing potential recommendations to prevent or react to supply chain failure as well. 1.1. U.S. toy industry According to Statista (2016), the U.S. toy industry amounted to $43.1 billion in 2015. It was projected to reach $45.02 billion by 2016. By means of global supply chains, U.S. enormous demand for toys is satisfied. For example, most toys sold in the U.S. are designed in the U.S., but approximately eighty percent of those sold in the U.S. are manufactured in China (Boyle, 2015). The main characteristics of toy industry are ‘volatility’ and ‘seasonality’ (Wong & Johansen, 2005). Roughly seventy percent of toy sales occur in the final three months of the year, in which families conduct bulk purchase as gifts to children for Christmas. Therefore, during early months of a year when demand for toys are considerably lower, toy manufacturers face problems with much of the unutilized capacity. They also need to......
