Memo Date: March 22, 2010 To: Andre Adams, Program Coordinator of the TerpZone * From: * Adedoyin Ogunbajo, Tournament Coordinator, the TerpZone Subject: Proposal to implement a sign-up fee for all video game tournaments. Purpose The purpose of this proposal is to request your approval to evaluate the current video game tournament sign-up process and ultimately institute an entrance fee for all tournaments starting next semester. Summary When the TerpZone started running the video game tournament series, I personally did not know what to expect, as I was in charge of coming up with a schedule of games, implementing the schedule into the TerpZone calendar, coming up with various ideas to market the various tounrmanents, and actually hosting and running the tournaments. But as the results have shown, the TerpZone video game tournament series has been a huge success, and the attendance numbers have steadily increased as more students become aware of the possibilities that our tournaments offer. However, as this number has continued to increase and I have continued to implement different new strategies and additions to the tournaments, there still lies the problem of what measure of compensation the students who participate in these tournaments should receive, either as a winner, runner-up, or finishing in a certain position after competing in the tourney. Since the inception of this idea, the system has been to award the winner and runner-up for each tournament prizes that involve a variety of coupons that can be redeemed at the TerpZone, depending on where the student finishes. These coupons are mostly valid for the services that we offer, such as 1 free hour of billiards, 1 free game of bowling + shoes, or arcade game…...

...| ACME | Memo To: | Company President | From: | ME | cc: | HR | Date: | November 8, 2013 | Re: | Soft Skills Training | | | After the last project review one area that needs to be improved is our communication not only with the stakeholder, but vendors and our team as well. Having gone through soft skills training before while in the Marine Corps, before I was assigned to recruiting duty, I know that soft skills training will have a positive impact on our team and improve our overall bottom line and limit communication breakdowns that have caused extra costs and completing projects after the due date. Due to the size of our company and that we are always involved in ongoing projects I would suggest that we use an online training company. This will also reduce costs because we will not have reimburse for travel costs. Using an online company will also allow us to control the environment in which our staff in being trained. Another option would be to bring in a company to do in house soft skills training. Train Smart would be a company that I would suggest they offer many services, but the one that would benefit us and our customers the most would be their tailored soft skills training. This would benefit all parts of our company as they offer leadership, HR, management, communication, and team building soft skills programs. They also work with a wide variety of industries many of who we also work with this can only help us in the long run if we decide...

We have spoken with Capone’s support staff and identified the following needs that we both have: 1. Crisp video so we can see each other’s moves with clarity 2. Clear sound quality so we can both understand each other very well 3. An easy to use interface that even a not so wise guy can use and understand In the table attached, we have listed 3 possible options that we believe Capone’s as well as Bedrock can come to an agreement on. On the table page we have also listed our resources so you may visit each website and read about them if you wish. Below I will give a basic overview of the 3 options. Our first option is Skype. It is a well-known platform that can deliver what we need to do for a very small fee. Setup is simple and we already have a laptop that we can use the webcam on to run the session. We can also call any landline in the United States for $2.99/month as well as worldwide should we deem that necessary. Our Second option is WebEx. ...Memorandum To: Janice Jones, Committee Manager From: Chrissy Joyner, Project Manager Date: May 22, 2009 Subject: The Advantages of Using Lot 123 as an Eatery This memo is to show the importance of placing an eatery in the vacant location on the first floor. Based on my findings, I have found that it is extremely beneficial to our company if we place an eatery with several local restaurant choices on the first floor. What Are the Advantages? One of the greatest advantages is that it has employees staying within the building and dining. Therefore, employees have no reason to be late coming back from lunch. In a survey I completed with the employees, 80 percent of them said having an eatery on the premises would make them want to work during lunch hours. They stated that it is an inconvenience to have to stop what they are doing and drive 3 miles to get lunch. By the time they get back to work, the food is cold and it is time to clock back in. Since the goal is to make the operations efficient while keeping the current employees happy, different eateries will keep employees happy because of the convenience of somewhere to eat for lunch since there is only one break room available. Thus having an eatery on the site would increase production and revenue for the company. How will Revenue Increase? On an estimated projection, I show revenue being increased by 40% from having an eatery on site. Reason being is that when outside......

Memo to Field Manager

...interoffice memorandum to: | Tom harrelson | from: | XXXX XXXX | subject: | Company POlicies and procedures | date: | August 18, 2015 | | | The purpose of this memo is to give a refresher on our company policies and procedures. It is paramount that when conducting our business, we are conducting it in a manner that reflects and abides to our policies and procedures. Due to a recent incident at the residence of our most valued customer Henry Stewart, I need to ensure that all of our employees know what our company policies and procedures are. The Incident: Today, August 18, 2015, at the house of Henry Stewart, two of our employees were assigned with spraying his home’s trees and shrubs for insects. During the spraying, Mr. Stewart’s prized koi fish were killed due to the fact that his koi pond was not covered prior to spraying. Additionally, Mr. Stewart reported that our employees that were assigned to the task were rude. This is not how our company conducts business. Company Policies and Procedures: 1. When assigning employees to work assignments, there will always be at least one experienced employee. This means if there are new employees they will ALWAYS have at least ONE experienced employee with them at all times. This is to ensure that all work is done correctly and with minimal errors. 2. We will treat all of our customers with the utmost respect and courtesy at all times. By making sure that these policies are followed, we can......

...MEMORANDUM TO: New Manager FROM: Promoted Manager DATE: May 14, 2012 RE: Group Formation and Communication Welcome New Manager! As you acclimate yourself to your new responsibilities in introducing new employees to their teammates, I felt it would be helpful to provide an outline of the basics on group development and how relationships form in groups. Included are barriers that can exist in group communications and techniques to overcome these barriers. To begin, there are five basic stages that group formation goes through. They are as follows: In the first stage, forming, members begin as individuals and phase to the next stage at the point when they begin to think of themselves as being part of a group. Forming will include members’ informally gathering information about other members and what type of behavior will make them fit in to the group. It is a time in which social ground rules are loosely laid and each member begins to figure out their social role within the group. Members in this stage are trying to determine what types of behaviors are acceptable. The second stage, storming, is when the social role of each member is further defined and a working order to the group begins to form. Members accept the existence of the group but resist the constraints it imposes on individuality. There is typically resistance from some members at this point as they convey their individuality as important and attempt to keep that intact as they meld into......
