Introduction To The Computer

The type of computer that we are choice for this assignment is notebook computer. A notebook computer is a battery or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings. A notebook is an extremely lightweight personal computer. Notebook computers typically weigh less than six pounds and are small enough to fit easily in a briefcase.

Notebook computers generally cost more than desktop computers with the same capabilities because they are more difficult to design and manufacture. A notebook can effectively be turned into a desktop computer with a docking station, a hardware frame that supplies connections for peripheral input/output devices such as a printer or larger monitor. The less capable port replicator allows you to connect a notebook to a number of peripherals through a single plug.

Notebooks usually come with displays that use thin-screen technology. The thin film transistor or active matrix screen is brighter and views better at different angles than the STN or dual-scan screen. Notebooks use several different approaches for integrating a mouse into the keyboard, including the touch pad, the trackball, and the pointing stick. A serial port also allows a regular mouse to be attached. The PC Card is insert able hardware for adding a modem or network interface card to a notebook. CD-ROM and digital versatile disc drives may be built-in or attachable.

Preceding chapters of this book provide specific content suggestions for the topics in each guideline. The first stage in the planning process is a preliminary country analysis. The marketer needs basic information to evaluate a country market’s potential, identify problems that would eliminate a country from further consideration, identify aspects of the country’s environment that need further study, evaluate the components of the marketing mix for possible adaptation, and develop a strategic marketing plan. One further use of the information collected in the preliminary analysis is as a basis for a country notebook. ...Ashley Ryan 12/7/2011 Evaluation of “The Notebook” It’s common to find most love stories come with a happily ever after. This predictable ending seems semi-unrealistic, but is also a fantasy for some. Disney movies often capture this ideal point of view of a relationship, perfect from start to finish. It overlooks the actuality and different series of problems that can occur between two people. The movie “The Notebook”, based off Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novel, is a beautiful story that captures the emotion of a forbidden summer love remaining strong through distance and complicated times. The movie begins with an elderly man and woman. This man reads the story aloud from an old, worn out book. The story is about a small town country boy, Noah, chasing after a city girl named Allie. Noah does everything it takes to become a part of Allie’s life. The two grew close, spending most of their time together even making dreams for their future. Noah and Allie had their share of arguments but nothing permanently damaging. The true conflict arises when Allie’s parents step in and demand the relationship to end. Noah and Allie come from two different classes with opposite standards and wealth. With the summer coming to an end, Allie’s parents force her to leave town. Within the blink of an eye the two teenagers are separated from each other, without any closure. Seven years pass and Allie is off meeting new people and creating a new life for herself. Noah on the other hand......

Qualities of an Epic Story in the Notebook

...Qualities of an Epic Story in The Notebook What is an epic? An epic, by definition, is the telling of an epic hero’s story through the vast journey and sacrifices he makes. The Notebook would be considered an epic for many reasons. Some may disagree and say it’s just a love story that contains no characteristics, and no proof of being an epic. But in this paper the characteristics of an epic will be explored through facts and examples from the text and from today’s present life and culture. The epic hero, Noah Hamilton in Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook states, “I am no one special, just a common man with common thoughts. I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me. And my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect, I've succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived (The Notebook).” Some examples of the characteristics in The Notebook that proves this is an epic would include vast settings, the story begins in medias res, the characters have epic digressions and that the hero embodies the values of the culture. Because of how the story starts, media res would be considered the first characteristic of an epic that can be noticed in The Notebook. Our story begins at a nursing home in the south where Allie is being looked after due to her dementia. The nurse is in her room, attempting to have Allie come out and go outside for a little while until a mysterious man shows up. Now, we don’t know who this man is that has just entered her room, and we’re......

Printing was particularly difficult as the laptops could not differentiate when a clinician had moved from one clinic to another intelligently. In addition, slow keyboard-based authentication and login processes were creating more workflow blockages, frustrating caregivers, and increasing patient wait times.
