My 4th year High School Life, Different from Others
Alyssa Bea Tanda, IV-Br. Flavius

High school life is really fun. There are so many happenings in your life that you will never forget, so many things that had changed your life. For me there are many things in my life that changed a lot in me but I can say that the one that had changed me the most is my being a 4th year high school student. I don’t know why, but I really learned a lot in this part of my life. There are also some good effects of me being a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year high school student, but being a fourth year student is really different. It’s different from my other past experiences.

The first day of 4th year came and I found out that my section is Br. Flavius, wherein my classmates were also my classmates when I was in 3rd year. At first I had thought of transferring to other section, because I want something new and I want to have new friends with other people. But then I had a realization that I can’t afford to be away from my friends. I also thought that it is God’s will that I am part of that section, so there is a purpose why I belong here. One of the main reasons why I decided not to transfer to other section is because I learned that the adviser of our section is Mr. Joseph Consignado. Even when I was still on the lower years, I already know his name. Many people say that he is one of the best advisers of the high school department. Every section that he handled was always known to be one of the best sections of that year level. And the mere fact that he is my adviser, I know that there is something that will be changed in me. I want to learn on how he handles an advisory class and how he will change our lives.

It is in the month of July that we had our first activity for this school year. In this nutrition month we joined in…...

My High School Expierence

...High School was an interesting experience for me. There were plenty of good, bad, and confusing experiences. When I started my freshmen year I wasn’t 100% sure I was ready for high school. It revealed me in all aspect, the good and the bad but has built my character. My experience at Northwest High School has helped shaped me into the person I am today. While at Northwest I learned a lot about my personal qualities such as my strengths, weaknesses, work habits, and attitudes. One of the first things I learned was responsibly. Depending on how much time and effort I put in to learning in the overall class depended upon me. I learned to take initiative if I do not understand something. While working with other I had to humble myself and become receptive to the ideas and options of those around me. While in high school I also learned communication was essential. I learned how to communicate my thoughts and ideas in a formal manner. Listening and speaking were most important lessons for good communication. Although I hated speaking in front of a large group I leaned how to organize my thoughts and communicate ideas through fluent speech. Through listening I learned how to receive, interpret, and process information. Thinking and reasoning skills were something else I had to learn. I had to learn efficient leaning skills that worked best for me. I had to realize that the way I learned was not always the teachers expected me to learn. I had to find new ways......

6 Year High Schools

...Should High School be Extended to 6 Years? “Education refers to overall processes that help individuals to develop their behaviors, attitudes and abilities (Tezcan, 1985). It remains as the  major  tool  by  which  people  become empowered  and  the  economic,  social,  and personal  well-being  of  all  citizens in all societies is provided (American Psychological Association [APA], 2010). The prosperity of a country depends on its well qualified and educated human capital. Thus education level of a society is one of the most important indicators of socio economic development and productivity rates in a country (Çakmak, 2008).” In today’s economy, a high school diploma, an associates degree and relevant education is necessary to succeed. 6 year high schools are one way to ensure that students are getting the education they need to thrive in today’s society. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, an employed person with only a high school diploma earns an average of $33,904 yearly. An employed person with an associate’s degree earns an average of $40,820 yearly. Individuals that have only earned a high school diploma have an 8.3% unemployment rate, while individuals with a high school diploma and an associate’s degree only have a 6.2% unemployment rate. The average for the United States is 6.7%. Individuals that don’t even have a high school diploma fall to a 12.4% unemployment rate! High schools should be extended to six years. There are many reasons as to why......

My High School Life

...A belief that I have come to hold after starting high school is that private schools fall short of the most important benefits that public schools have to offer. I have learned this through my own personal experience of going to a catholic grammar school for nine years, and then transitioning to the public high school that I currently attend. Of course, the main purpose of going to school is to gain a good education that will help you be successful in the future. This belief I do hold true; both private and public schools grant this opportunity. But public schools and private schools each grant an entirely different social experience, and the social experience, in my opinion, is much more valuable than the academic experience. Along with gaining an education, part of being successful in life is learning how to interact and form relationships with people who are different from you. In grammar school, the majority of the people I met were white, Catholic, and of the same learning ability. Every day at school, students were expected to wear uniform clothes, uniform hair styles, and learn at a uniform pace. There were no accommodations for people with slower learning paces; everyone was expected to keep up. Growing up, this is how I expected all schools were like. For nine years I was almost blinded to the fact that people of different religion and learning pace, even physical appearance, even existed in the real world. But the fact is there are more types of people than......

Factors Influencing Course Specialization Among 4th Year Hrm Students in Carmona National High School

...Organization (WTO), international tourism alone generated $1.4 trillion in receipts (4.1 per cent of World GDP) in 2000. Estimates of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), on the other hand, put the impact of tourism on the economy at a much higher level because it includes domestic tourism. As reported by the WTTC, tourism grossed US$566 billion in world visitor exports and created employment for 73.1 million persons in the year 2000. Hotel and Restaurant Management is a program which emphasize the importance and significance of services. It has major courses like baking, culinary arts, international cuisine, banquet and catering, housekeeping, food and beverage procedures, management, front office, events management, food sanitation procedures, food control system, hospitality planning and design, tourism, cruise line and etc. Some universities offer the program with such course specializations. But this university hasn’t yet offered course specialization in Hotel and Restaurant Management. According to the Department of Tourism, international arrivals in 1999 stood at 2.17 million, a slight increase from the previous year’s total of 2.15 million visitors. Despite the economic crisis suffered by its Asian markets, the Philippines’ foreign exchange receipts from tourism went up by 5.83% from $2.41 billion in 1998 to $2.55 billion in 1999. Moreover, the Philippines enjoyed the highest repeat visitors in Asia at 54.22 percent, indicating that the tourism......

Key to Life in High School

...We look back on life and wonder if someone would have told us how to live life a few years ago, we would not be in the same situation we are in now. For example, a relative telling you to not regret anything you do in life, or to always live in the moment and not look back. Advice is key to living a great life. If one listens to the people who have already experienced what he or she is now going through, one could embrace life and live it to the best of their potential. One should listen to their elders; they know what they are talking about. Even though I have not experienced a lot in my life, I have been through high school and know now how to handle it. One piece of advice is to always be independent and not thrive on following the crowd or trying to look “cool.” I, personally, have always been independent and love being on my own. If you try to be a follower, you will not experience life for yourself; you will be experiencing life through another person. Being independent during high school will also help you when you go to college and even after that. If you want to go away for school or are planning on moving out of your parents’ home, you will not have mommy and daddy to depend on. Not depending on anyone but yourself will bring you closer to finding out who you really are and you will have a better understanding of what life feels like when you are on your own. Not believing everything people tell you is also crucial for surviving high school. Teenagers......

Jrotc Differs from Other High School Courses

...JROTC is different from other classes you can take at your school. It has more emphasis on physical fitness. Each week, we run or do some other form of physical fitness. It keeps us all in shape and ready for anything. It also has a large emphasis on independence and leadership, and allows a higher rank if you pursue the military. Each week we do some form of physical fitness, whether it be running or playing a game. It keeps us in shape and ready to do whatever is asked of us. Each time we do a presidential fitness test, each of us improves in some area of the test. The physical fitness we do helps us to feel better about how we're doing because we see our constant improvements. Each cadet helps each other with everything. It's part of our leadership. If there is something we're not sure of, we can ask one of our other cadets or one of our leaders. Each of them will try to help to the best of their ability or they will find someone that can help us. We are encouraged to do what we can independently, but we are never denied help if we need it. If a cadet decides he or she would like to pursue a role in the military, they are granted a higher rank than someone that didn't take a JROTC class. JROTC is a basic military class. In the class, we each learn about the military and its history. If we need any extra information about any branch of the military, our leaders can help us find someone that could answer more of our questions if they can't answer them......

My Life in Ten Years

...My Life in Ten Years Dayna B. Davis Breckenridge School of Nursing Being a single mother of three you never know where life will take you. It’s hard to believe that in 10 years I will be the mother of a 22, 17 & 13 year old. My journey into the nursing field started with a certificate in Medical assisting which I obtained in 2005. Shortly after that I continued my education in the medical field by returning to receive my certificate in Medical Insurance Billing. I wanted to be sure that nursing was my true passion before embarking on such a complicated yet passionate field. And once I received confirmation my journey began. Before I begin to tell you what my plan is let me start out with why. Three years ago I gave birth to my only daughter via C-section. During the routine procedure I experienced what is called a “pseudo seizure” and have no memory of daughter until what I would eventually learn was two days after the procedure. It was during my week long stay in the hospital that I realized nursing was my calling. The care I received was amazing and the time that the nursing staff took to explain what had happen as well as answer any and all questions I had was very touching. And shortly after being discharged I began my search that would lead me to ITT Tech/ Breckenridge School of Nursing. My ultimate goal is that in ten years I will be a very successful nurse anesthetist with plenty of accolades and degrees under my belt. While I am currently a student in my......

Change from High School to College

...Life in high school was very different from that of what I have experienced up to now in college. Transition from high school to college was not easy. There were many points influencing the fact that I wasn’t prepared enough initially to go through this experience so suddenly. On 10th september,2015 I was a boy who had flown 18000 miles from Kolkata, India and come to experience a completely different culture and phase of my life. I never expected it to be really easy to get through this change, because I knew they were both going to be very different lives, and life in college would be different because of all the freedom, and responsibility. When I was in high school, I had all the luxuries I needed. I had every single resource. I never had to lift a finger; it was like everything was there for me on a platter. I always had a car for me to go wherever I wanted whenever I wanted, when I did not want to drive, there was a driver t take me. I had people to do all the chores, id never washed a dish, or my clothes before I came to college .I had staff who did the cleaning, ironing and all the other things. I had tutors to help me with the subjects I had a problem with. I know this would seem like too the people in clleg as if I am a brat, and I had to deal with that while learning all this going through such a major life change. Even school was very different, the teaching style, the teachers the friends, everything was something I was comfortable in. Its that way for almost......

High School Graduates Should Take a Year Off Before College

...High school graduates should take a year off before entering college. Anna Swain Dr. Anne Marie Keyes Critical Thinking - PHI 210 March 11, 2012 The purpose of my paper is to convey my thoughts regarding High School graduating students taking a year off before entering college. Many parents and students have mixed feelings concerning this topic of discussion; therefore, my main audience will be focused towards the parents and these graduating seniors. I hope to present a clear, understandable, and convincing overview of the college “Gap” year alternative. As students, we have all looked forward to graduating from high school and beginning our college life. Parents have worked hard and hopefully saved towards this next step in their child’s life. However, if you have graduated and have your high school diploma in your hands; you may begin to wonder if college is right for you, just now. Not every high school graduate goes to college and maybe you don't feel ready for college, and maybe a year off would be the right thing for you. According to collegeboard.com, “many students do go straight to college after graduation, but some students do take a year off to pursue an interest or just to take a break from school, they do this by taking a gap year, a year off, a deferred year, or just plain time off;” they should, however, use this time wisely and not waste the year. Parents also wonder if it's worth taking a......
