...Active Directory structure and Domain Controller configuration: DHCP We will be using DHCP for wireless devices. All other devices (servers, printers, lab PCs, switches) will receive static IPs as they will all be permanent fixtures. I have DHCP enabled on both DC’s with a split-scope configured for the wireless address pool. This will help with load-balancing and will ensure that if DC1 goes down, wireless devices will still be able to receive an IP address from DC2. Active Directory Users and Computers User Groups are located under the Users container. All users will be in the Domain Users group, and then will be added to Domain Admins, Server Admins, Faculty, or Students based on role. Guest users will be added to Domain Guests. User accounts are generated with first initial, last name, and a number to distinguish duplicates (e.g. Anthony Matthews becomes amatthews001) Domain Controllers will remain in the Domain Controllers OU, Servers will be in the Servers OU, and workstations will be under the workstations OU in the OU that corresponds to their physical location (i.e. lab 1-3) This will allow us to apply GPOs to all devices based on location and role. Domain Controllers are WestSideDC01 and WestSideDC02, Lab machines are named with Lab name and an assigned number (e.g. Lab1PC1) Group Policy Management Currently I have the following options configured with group policy: Server Admins – adds the Server Admins security group to the Administrators......

...My Decision Making Steps in to Buying My House My wife and I were tired of paying rent into an apartment we could not own so we decided that I wanted to buy some property which. First we went to see where to start, so my first step was to go to the bank and talk to a mortgage specialist. There I needed to improve on several things which included my credit rating and savings account. The second step I used was to improve my credit rating. Within the next year I took out more credit cards and finished paying them off. I paid off my car loan and made sure everything was paid on time. I needed to save for a down payment as well, so I worked twice as many hours to save up the money. I than was able to secure a loan through my bank. Then we found an agent to help us find and view the houses that we were interested in. We found several houses that I liked and then we were finally able to secure a house that we wanted. Much to my surprise, the decision-making steps was extremely similar to my steps. I believe in my course of buying a house we used all six decision-making steps to implement my house. I identified the problem which was for me, living in an apartment and paying rent to something I could not own. Then I generated a solution which was to buy some property. I then evaluated my alternatives by looking into what kind of property I wanted to buy (house, condo etc.). We made the choice by deciding on only buying a house in the city of Roseville. I than implemented my...

...II.B.1.). Because it is considered a form of cheating, the Office of the Dean of Students can punish students who plagiarize with course failure and suspension. Full information can be found on the UNC Honor System page. What is plagiarism? At UNC, plagiarism is defined as “the deliberate or reckless representation of another’s words, thoughts, or ideas as one’s own without attribution in connection with submission of academic work, whether graded or otherwise.” (Instrument of Student Judicial Governance, Section II.B.1.). Because it is considered a form of cheating, the Office of the Dean of Students can punish students who plagiarize with course failure and suspension. Full information can be found on the UNC Honor System page. Why are my instructors so concerned about plagiarism? In order to understand plagiarism, it helps to understand the process of sharing and creating ideas in the university. All knowledge is built from previous knowledge. As we read, study, perform experiments, and gather perspectives, we are drawing on other people’s ideas. Building on their ideas and experiences, we create our own. When you put your ideas on paper, your instructors want to distinguish between the building block ideas borrowed from other people and your own newly reasoned perspectives or conclusions. You make these distinctions in a written paper by citing the sources for your building block ideas. Providing appropriate citations will also help readers who are interested in your......

Stuff on Thesis Straight from the Book Not My Work

...STATEMENT My subject is the incompetence of Professor X. Professor X is an incompetent teacher. I want to share some thoughts with you about our space program. Our space program is a waste of money. The thesis of this paper is the difficulty of solving our environmental problems. Solving our environmental problems is more difficult than many environmentalists believe. A thesis is not a statement of absolute fact. A thesis makes a judgment or interprets. There's no way to write an entire paper supporting a statement that needs no support. NOT A THESIS Jane Austen is the author of Pride and Prejudice. In 1970, Ohio had a population of 10,652,017. Suicide is the deliberate taking of one's own life. President Lincoln's first name was Abraham. Not a Title A title can often give the reader some notion of what the thesis is going to be, but it is not the thesis itself. The thesis itself, as presented in the thesis statement, does not suggest the main idea-it is the main idea. Remember, too, that a thesis statement will always be a complex sentence; there is no other way to make a statement. TITLE: NOT A THESIS THESIS STATEMENT Home and Schools Parents ought to participate more in the education of their children. ...PART I: PERSONAL VALUES My top 5 values are: 1. Integrity: The first and most important trait of a leader. Integrity gives a leader validity to always do the right thing. I have a deeper meaning stemming from my family that makes it crucial that I keep integrity first if I desire others to emulate my actions. 2. Loyalty: Loyalty is the trait of a good listener and friend to just be there when needed. This trait gives superiors a sense of commitment and purpose in making sure you are doing the request job to the best of your ability. You can hold yourself as you would others. 3. Decisiveness: When asked, what do we need to do? I believe I am a no nonsense leader that will tell the raw truth but give a clean resolution to the problem. I really pride myself on not being easily blinded from the truth. Having so many family members needing quick second responses, this is a trait I’m willing to exploit. 4. Selflessness: A leader development or fulfillment to his subordinates’ growth potential, despite his or her own. This gives the reverse of saying, “Do as I say and not as I do.” Putting the troops in a position to know that when given a job that you would do it as well. 5. Commitment: Commitment enforces cradle to grave job completion. A leader and father needs to be a person of their word, given them credibility. This......

...ANNUAL SURVEY OF INDUSTRIES (ASI) Introduction The Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) is the principal source of industrial statistics in India. It provides statistical information to assess and evaluate, objectively and realistically, the changes in the growth, composition and structure of organised manufacturing sector comprising activities related to manufacturing processes, repair services, gas and water supply and cold storage. Industrial sector occupies an important position in the Indian economy and has a pivotal role to play in the rapid and balanced economic development. Viewed in this context the collection and dissemination of ASI data, on a regular basis, are of vital importance. The Survey is conducted annually under the statutory provisions of the Collection of Statistics Act 2008, and the Rules framed there-under in 2011, except in the State of Jammu & Kashmir where it is conducted under the State Collection of Statistics Act, 1961 and the rules framed there-under in 1964. Scope and Coverage 2. The ASI extends to the entire country. It covers all factories registered under Sections 2m(i) and 2m(ii) of the Factories Act, 1948 i.e. those factories employing 10 or more workers using power; and those employing 20 or more workers without using power. The survey also covers bidi and cigar manufacturing establishments registered under the Bidi & Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966 with coverage as above. All electricity undertakings......

...Psychology Research Assignment Effective Learning styles Date: 16 April 2012 Class: Psychology 3AB Introduction Russell L. Ackoff was an academic, a scientist and a researcher who suggested that in the 21st Century, rather than content, the most significant contribution to education was acquiring the capability to learn with the motivation to do so throughout our lives. Learning styles pose a great influence over an individual and helps to guide their learning. Visual teaching is a particular learning style which incorporates ideas and concepts that are associated with images and certain techniques. It is a proven learning technique focusing on improving a person’s academic performance. When considering high school students, images such as plots and graphs, allow them to break up concepts into individual components, enabling them to analyse results quickly and efficiently. Carbo, Dunn, and Dunn (1986, p.13) approximated that 20 to 30 percent of school students remember what they heard in class, while 40 percent recall what they had seen or read. There are three main learning styles: auditory, visual and kinesthetic. Auditory learners are taught with a traditional teaching style, where the lecturer/teacher uses and presents information verbally, while changing their tone of voice and showing confident body language to capture the attention of their students. While visual learners benefit from diagrams, pictures, films, and written instructions, kinesthetic learners......

...the opportunity never seemed to present itself and now it never will, because we’re going to be thrown into an arena to fight to death. Exactly how I’m I supposed to work in a thank you in there? Somehow it just won’t seem sincere if I’m trying to slit his throat. This quote is described as to Katniss does not want to catch any feelings for Peeta because eventually they will be at a stage where they must compete to kill one another. Another example that is shows the theme competition is exhibited in chapter 3; “I can’t win prim must know that in her heart. The competition will be far beyond abilities kids from wealthier districts where winning is a huge honor, who’ve been trained their whole lives for this. Boys who are two to three times my size. Girls who know twenty different ways to kill you with a knife. Oh there’ll be people like me too people to weed out before the real fun begins”. This quote is described that here are children that are going to be thrown in the competition who have been very skillful at a very young age, then there will be kids like Katniss that have average skills to go against in the arena....

...honest and report this security breech. 2. Employ applicable laws and regulations. I would have to check my unit's internal Standard Operation Procedures to determine what the regulations are regarding proper disposal of classified documents. 3. Reflect on the ethical values and their ramifications. There are seven core Army values. I don't believe that all seven apply to this situation, but I will reflect on the ones that I think are relevant. The first Army value is "Loyalty". Is reporting SGT Day for his decision to cover up this discovery showing disloyalty to my unit? The second Army value is "Duty". I am to fulfill my obligations and refuse to take shortcuts that could undermine the integrity of those obligations. The third Army value is "Respect". Part of that Army value is trusting that all people have done their jobs and fulfilled their duty. Is reporting this breech of security showing a "distrust" in SFC Sharp and SGT Day? The fifth Army value is "Integrity". That means that I will not do or say anything that deceives others. If I agree with SGT Day, and do as he suggests, I am violating my personal beliefs to do what is right. 4. Consider other applicable moral principles. I can not violate my own personal moral principals. Whatever decision I make, I will have to live with. Is accepting SGT Day's suggestion being disloyal to my unit? Am I being disloyal to SFC Sharp? If I was the SFC, how would I want the situation handled? I must also......

...Stuff I have too much stuff. Most people in America do. In fact, the poorer people are, the more stuff they seem to have. Hardly anyone is so poor that they can't afford a front yard full of old cars. It wasn't always this way. Stuff used to be rare and valuable. You can still see evidence of that if you look for it. For example, in my house in Cambridge, which was built in 1876, the bedrooms don't have closets. In those days people's stuff fit in a chest of drawers. Even as recently as a few decades ago there was a lot less stuff. When I look back at photos from the 1970s, I'm surprised how empty houses look. As a kid I had what I thought was a huge fleet of toy cars, but they'd be dwarfed by the number of toys my nephews have. All together my Matchboxes and Corgis took up about a third of the surface of my bed. In my nephews' rooms the bed is the only clear space. Stuff has gotten a lot cheaper, but our attitudes toward it haven't changed correspondingly. We overvalue stuff. That was a big problem for me when I had no money. I felt poor, and stuff seemed valuable, so almost instinctively I accumulated it. Friends would leave something behind when they moved, or I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night (beware of anything you find yourself describing as "perfectly good"), or I'd find something in almost new condition for a tenth its retail price at a garage sale. And pow, more stuff. In fact these free or nearly free things weren't......
