Design for a Wireless Campus Area Network
Introduction
Guidelines: It’s always best to introduce a paper to the reader. It sets the tone and provides an overview of what will be covered and what the goals are.
What is the project? What issues are addressed? Why is it important? What are the goals?
The city of Josuha, Texas has instructed their IT staff to research and choose a way to give network connectivity. The main issue is that the locations that need to be connected are across roads and staff to research a wireless technology to connect four other locations. The issue is that there is not sufficient time to obtain the right of way permission from the two entities who own the road and highway separating the buildings. That is why a specific method is to be chosen.
Equipment Selection

After looking a few different radio wireless vendors I have found the following; Afar Communications to have the best implementation to satisfy the needs of this project. The equipment that was analyzed is a wireless bridge that will be giving connection to antennas that can be mounted to any structure outdoor. These radios give two different options of radio frequency in the 900 MHz or 2.4GHz range. It looks like to me within the statistics that the 1st line stays connected for 10seconds, the 2nd line drops for 2 seconds then up for 8 seconds, the 3rd line same thing with drops for 2 seconds then up for 8 seconds. I would have to say that there seems to be some interference with the start of the 2nd & 3rd line but it still looks constant overall as staying connected. 3.
