It is easy to say something is hard to do if you never tried doing it. This saying hits home for me because there was a time I thought I could not play sports or thought that it would be a struggle because I had asthma. After beating myself up over not having the courage to try, my friends encouraged me to try out for basketball. When starting out it was a little hard to run and bounce the ball at the same time, it took even more energy and effort to shoot the ball. This did not help in keeping my spirit high. I felt defeated and stopped trying. While feeling bad about not being good right away I remembered what my mom told me “Everything does not come easy, you have to work for it”. This made me feel better and I practiced every day after school until I learned how to play the game. Now basketball is my favourite sport, if I had not tried it wouldn’t have been possible for me to brag about my accomplishments today. If you do not try to do something, you will never know if you are good at it. Confidence is the key when it comes to trying something new.
Don’t be a failure by thinking you cannot do something or not even try. When making a mistake, try harder the next time and it will eventually become easy. You will be very happy and pleases with yourself when you try to do something and succeed. When attempting to do something put in the effort so you can be the best at it. I have learned that not trying is worst than trying and failing. I have so much to learn and will try my hardest to accomplish all my…...

Never Give Up

...trying to stay awake, I pondered over a question. How can a subject possibly be so uninteresting? On every lesson, the teacher would go on forever about how ingenious the poet's use of verbs was, and how wonderfully he or she described the situation while using only a few words. She also never seemed to miss an opportunity to praise the author's brilliance while creating the characters. "How could it be possible for a literary work to be flawless?" – I asked myself waiting for my classmates' reaction; however, nobody seemed to dare to oppose the teacher's viewpoint. I decided to become the "pioneer". My chance came when we were learning about "The Miserable Ones" by Victor Hugo. My teacher immediately divided the characters into two separate compartments labelled "good" and "bad". I could not comprehend the teacher's notion that Javert, one of the characters, was a complete essence of evil and malevolence. She did not even consider any of his admirable traits such as his devotion to work or self-discipline. I personally considered him misguided rather than evil, but when I shared my view with the teacher, I was ignored. Days passed, and after numerous criticized and even ridiculed attempts to speak up my mind, my lack of interest in the subject transformed into strong dislike. I became allergic to Literature.  Nevertheless, I knew I could not possibly continue learning by hating a subject. I was aware that the writing skills that the Literature was supposed to equip me......

...government. As to social costs (here the social responsibility of an employer comes into discussion), the closing of a factory resulted in the collapse of the local community. Furthermore, 100 workers lost their jobs and this number is big if we take into account that Bryan has only 8,000 inhabitants. Such a conduct of a company can be considered a violation of ethical obligations springing from the position of the company. Nevertheless, the company did not make any abrupt changes. Moving out of Bryan was gradual and most workers were probably able to find new jobs[2]. Moreover, even though the company does have social obligations, the Friedman Doctrine is at least partly relevant: a company has to seek profits in order to survive. Summing up, in order for the decision to be ethical, the company should seek profits, but also minimise social and this is what Ohio Art surely did. Question 2: Whether it is ethical for Ohio Art to continue employing Kinki Answer A Note: This student acknowledges that there are many ethical standards, not all of which lead to the same conclusion. S(he) clearly shows how the same set of facts can lead to divergent conclusions. This issue can be analysed from multiple perspectives. From the cultural relativist point of view, the fact that the Chinese authorities turn a blind eye to such practices means that the company should do the same. According to the righteous moralist perspective, the company should desist......

Give

...Give You give but little when you give of your possessions.  It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.  For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow?  And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the over prudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?  And what is fear of need but need itself?  Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, thirst that is unquenchable?  There are those who give little of the much which they have and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome. And there are those who have little and give it all.  These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.  There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.  And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.  And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;  They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.  Though the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.  It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding;  And to the open-handed the search for one who shall receive is joy greater than giving  And is there aught you would......

Give

...Give by Simon Armitage Subject Give is about homelessness and the way in which society reacts to beggars. The poet has adopted the persona of a homeless person to challenge the reader directly, although initially there is some ambiguity about the speaker: in the first stanza the word "dear" suggests an intimate connection between the speaker and audience. Later it becomes clear that the speaker is creating a "scene" by asking for money. Structure and language Form and Structure The poem is regular in form, divided into five stanzas, each of two or three lines, with a strict eight-syllable count to form a strong metre. The first stanza is a rhyming couplet, which accentuates the strong rhythm. Armitage also uses repeated structures in this poem: the third stanza, for example, has three parallel lines introduced by metals of increasing value. The drama of this parallelism peaks in the final stanza, which has four short sentences over two lines: You give me tea. That's big of you.I'm on my knees. I beg of you. The way the two lines mirror each other - to the extent that the last sentence of each is very nearly identical - juxtaposes the beggar and "you", letting the reader compare the two characters. This is also a rhyming couplet because the last words are the same. What could the structure be used for? Perhaps by following a strict structure and rhythm, Armitage is helping create a sense that the beggar is educated, possibly to surprise the reader. And is it significant that......

Never Give Up Your Dream

...stood up and shook hands with me, but no smile. I felt a little nervous. I told him that I am a business student, and our major is totally different, which is the reason I choose him to be my interviewee. He said his work is complex and complicated because it is not only teach, but also includes some researches about biology and geography, the supervision of master student, participating conference and the community of finical planning. I asked him what the favorite part in his work is. This question seems carried him back, and he paused as if to find a way to phrase his next thoughts. And then, he continued to say that to teach and work with students is his favorite work. He also said to spend a lot of time on research is not his will, and he would like to be with his family if there are 48 hours a day. When he said this I felt a man who has sense of responsibility and loves his family deeply. .To answer the central point of this interview, his response is that business students focus specific problems on their business, and the essential focus of science students is how to combine the theory with practice. At the beginning, I feel a little nervous; however, from the whole interview I find Dr. Jimmy is a friendly and approachable person. Thanks for his time and patient. My last question is what the expectation is for his student. “Find a real job, not just for money” he replied firmly. At last, he told me that “Love your family and never......

Never Give Up

...the bench was extremely difficult to deal with. Consequently, as I missed the whole season, I wanted to start new. Once my knee was completely healed and I was finished with therapy, I joined a travelling club team. I immediately fell in love with the game again when I started playing. I still struggled with regaining the same strength and agility I had before, due to the lack of playing time I lost, but I never gave up. Unfortunately, I underwent the same circumstances when playing my junior year. It hurts to have something that you love taken away from you. When my playing time was taken from me a second time, my confidence and hope was lowered significantly. My love for the game, however, never wavered. After the school season ended, I went on to play volleyball on a travelling team again. Being able to be on the court and doing what I loved brought back the confidence and hope that I had lost before. Playing volleyball has had an enormous impact on my life. The most important thing I learned from playing was to never give up. If I hadn’t been persistent, defying the ups and downs and continuously learning throughout the journey, I wouldn’t be the person I am now....

A Review of " Did the Players Give Up Money to Make the Nba Better?

...A Review of " Did the Players Give Up Money to Make the NBA Better? Exploring the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National Basketball Association" Xiao Chen Johnson & Wales University A Review of " Did the Players Give Up Money to Make the NBA Better? Exploring the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National Basketball Association" It's a long but clear title; and I use two whole lines to write it. I'm a basketball fan. When I planned to find a prime resource to read and write about it, I'm aware of some researches or business events involving my interest and business, so I chose this article. After reading the whole essay, I felt perplexed because it wasn't a general primary research that I could recognize at once and the author used some data from sports association. Finally, I thought it's available deliberately. I have two sample reasons: one is that the author collects the valuable data; the other is that the author analyze and flow the idea to the conclusion. Statement of the Problem What is the implied research question in this study? The answer is obvious. Just like the title, this research is to talk about effects of the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National Basketball Association. As we knows, because of the new bargaining agreement, players will earn less money that before, and make contribution to the league, but people doesn't it affect or not. This research gives the author's analysis. Review of Related......

Best Ways to Give Up the Ghost

... Best Ways to Give Up the Ghost You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough. The thing is we mess it up most of the time. People who are fortunate to be born in a well-off family end up spending all their wealth and end up miserable. People who were born miserable die miserable. Life is full of struggles, pain, and misery that I ask myself, why do people still want to live in this world? I mean, seeing all these tragedies, why would they still want to endure all this pain? I came up with one solution on how to stop these troubles, suicide. There are, of course, a lot of ways to die. But I will show you the best ways to die that even at the very last moment, you can catch a glimpse of happiness. Included on the list is to have an honorable death, to be a hero! Defending your friends from the massive zombie invasion will gain you awesomeness and respect. Although your survival chances are minimum, the feeling of being the last stand is great. But the best part of it is after you die, you become immortal! Isn’t that amazing? You are going to live again without any problems your past life did give you. This is surely and epic way to die. If you don’t want to die painful deaths, there are painless ways to die. You just have to gather every medicine tablet you could find and medicate yourself with it. Never Give Up

...Never Give Up” There is no such thing as an ending Just a new beginning. I think this quote is awesome, and has a lot of meaning in my life. To me this quote literally mean, “never give up” when I say never I mean never God does everything for a reason. So I never complain neither do I ever give up. Basically everything good I do with school or education wise is because I choose to. I know what I want in life so that's what I'm going to fight for until I get it. I have a good parents but when it comes to supporting me education wise, I never really had that. I am at the age where as though I don't let that bother me, because I know “ in the end of my new beginning” I know they will be proud of me. I really don't have a support system, it's really only me supporting my self. I mean I have people that care but don't support me. I have my days when I just wanna break down & emotionally cry and give up because I feel so alone not having anybody support me. Until I jump back to reality and “never give up” no matter how hard or how difficulty it get I will always keep trying. You always have to go through lemons to get to lemonade is my Moto. I honesty feel as though I came to far to give up! I am a very good well matured teenager, I am 17 years of age, I have 2 jobs. I work at tropical smoothie café on broad Cecil b-Moore and checkers in southwest Philadelphia. I am......

Give Up the Keys Granny

...Give the keys up “Granny!” For the past 6 years of experience of driving on the road, experiencing road rage from other drivers. Also seeing the elderly on their phones and driving. In my personal opinion I believe the elderly shouldn’t be allowed to drive over the age of 70. My grandfather is 67 years old; he taught me everything that I know. He taught me how to drive when I was 16 years old. In the past 2 years he’s been in 5 accidents and somehow he keeps passing he’s drivers test. The first accident was that he ran through a red light and hit the car passing. The second he wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing on the highway and tried to lanes and hit the car on this left. Need I say more? I love him, but here comes a time when the elderly need to admit that it’s time to give the keys up and start taking public transportation. Not only is my grandfather the worse elderly driver out there, but there’s thousands. I may be cruel for saying if you’re 70 or older you can no longer drive, because it is still their sense of freedom. I think if the DMV gave frequent drivers test and other physicals for the elderly there would be far less accidents from them. Although 25-42 percent of accidents are because doctors don’t give direct directions about driving on prescribed medications. Although the elderly do drive very slow and don’t cause as many accidents as a 25-30 year old would. It is aggravating when you have a time limit to be somewhere and the speed limit is......

15 Things You Should Give Up to Be Happy

...15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy   Here is a list of 15 things which, if you give up on them, will make your life a lot easier and much, much happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering – and instead of letting them all go, instead of allowing ourselves to be stress free and happy – we cling on to them. Not anymore. Starting today we will give up on all those things that no longer serve us, and we will embrace change. Ready? Here we go:   1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can’t stand the idea of being wrong – wanting to always be right – even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain, for us and for others. It’s just not worth it. Whenever you feel the ‘urgent’ need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question: “Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?” Wayne Dyer. What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big? 2. Give up your need for control. Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you – situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, coworkers, or just strangers you meet on the street – just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel. “By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But...
