Analysing where the organisation is now The SWOT Analysis is a helpful tool for putting the information into perspective. SWOT is a simple but effective technique to analyse where the organisation is, and to help develop future plans. SWOT stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Strengths and weaknesses are to do with the internal capabilities of the organisation - in other words what it does well and what it does not do well. Opportunities and threats are to do with the business environment in other words, what opportunities exist that the organisation can take advantage of, and what threats should it protect itself against. Let’s take an example of a personnel agency that supplies contract printers and typesetters to in-plant and commercial printshops. The business has been successful and is finding it difficult to meet demand for its services. SWOT Analysis for personnel agency Internal Strengths • Know personnel selection practices • Know the print industry • Strong sales force • Good client relationships. External Opportunities • Growing demand for contract help • No local competition • Readily available applicants • Business loans available, backed by government.......

...are known for being wise, Old Man Warner seems to be a very ignorant and superstitious being that blindly follows tradition “As I looked up Martin in the dictionary I noticed the word Martinet, a word that it seemed possible that martin could derive from and the meaning was, a strict disciplinarian, a military one” (Mandell, 2013). This shows why Martins son is the one showing how to get the stones in the beginning and the martins seemed so focus in the story. The names of all the prominent characters in .The Lottery support the idea that everybody hides their evil nature by way of deceit. Jackson’s use of Symbolism is one of the key elements that makes this story to me so interesting, it is hard to believe that she could have wrote a story with so much symbolic depth in a matter of hours. The story has its roots in symbolism as a literary device and Jackson uses it to create an intriguing story, that also makes the reader look at his or her own environment and the society around themselves. The pieces of paper that Jackson uses at the very end which are lifted away by the breeze is not only symbolic of the ease with which life can be taken but is also symbolic of vast civilizations that were doomed to eventual failure for believing in and acting on tradition, and not living according to the word of righteousness. We see that even as Tessie is being stoned to death does she not question the reasoning behind the lottery, but why it should be her that has to die for the......

Artistic people are the creators they like music, instruments, art, they like to create different things. Social people are the helpers they like to volunteer, or help a friend out who is in need. The enterprisers are the persuaders they like to lead or tell others what to do to make things work in order. The last group is conventional they are the organizers. Nice Trap

...Case Incident 1 The Nice Trap? In these pages we’ve already noted that one downside of agreeableness is that agreeable people tend to have lower levels of career success. Though agreeableness doesn’t appear to be related to job performance, agreeable people do earn less money. Though we’re not sure why this is so, it may be that agreeable individuals are less aggressive in negotiating starting salaries and pay raises for themselves.  Yet there is clear evidence that agreeableness is something employers value. Several recent books argue in favor of the “power of nice” (Thaler & Koval, 2006) and “the kindness revolution” (Horrell, 2006). Other articles in the business press have argued that the sensitive, agreeable CEO—as manifested in CEOs such as GE’s Jeffrey Immelt and Boeing’s James McNerney—signals a shift in business culture (Brady, 2007). In many circles, individuals desiring success in their careers are exhorted to be “complimentary,” “kind,” and “good” (for example, Schillinger, 2007).  Take the example of 500-employee Lindblad Expeditions. It emphasizes agreeableness in its hiring decisions. The VP of HR commented, “You can teach people any technical skill, but you can’t teach them how to be a kindhearted, generous-minded person with an open spirit.”  So, while employers want agreeable employees, agreeable employees are not better job performers, and they are less successful in their careers. One might explain this apparent contradiction by noting that......

...environments also have been found to shape the driving behaviors of both young and mature drivers including knowledge, attitudes, awareness, and expectations, which in turn influence how they will respond when presented with the choice between risky and safe behaviors. The social environment has to do with exposure to communication tools, , urban crowding, , community norms about wearing seat belts, cultural standards regarding drinking while driving, and police ticketing practices. All of these societal conditions have been found to be associated with driving behavior. 2.5 Definition of Driving Exposures and Measurement Exposure is generally expressed in a form relating to the number of times a particular driver is on the road. Sometimes the word volume is used to determine the exposures per driver. It is quite true that most countries do not have an established system of measuring this exposure of drivers while in some countries for engineering purposes data relating to volume are kept for the various parts of the road system are categorized by the different road users While some countries may decide to have it on motorways main rural roads and major intersections, still others conduct theirs on the amount of distance travelled and the amount of fuel consumption. ...Budget 2012 – Transformation or Retrogression? 2011 December 15 by Nasir El-Rufai [pic][pic][pic]Let me start by apologizing for the inevitable absence of this column in the past two weeks; just as I would also like to express sincere gratitude to all those that visited, called or sent condolence messages to my family for our bereavement. Moving on to the subject of this discourse, in the light of the passionate debate on the removal of fuel subsidy with which the country has been bedeviled in previous couple of months; the issue of whether the 2012 Appropriation Bill is a budget of fiscal consolidation or retrogression is as timely as it is topical. Transformation is a huge word that the Jonathan administration thoughtlessly uses to describe its aspirations. Is there anything transformational about the 2012 Budget proposals? In the course of presenting the Draft Budget, President Jonathan in paragraph 1 of 81 of his address states “this budget is a stepping stone to the transformation of our economy and country in our walk to economic freedom” and concludes in paragraph 76 thereof that “Mr. Senate President……the Proposal I lay before you this day seeks to sustain sound micro-economic growth that will translate to achieving socio-economic transformation, and gainful employment for our people”. Meanwhile, and perhaps by divine providence, in the afternoon of the same Tuesday, 13th of December; the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Nigeria’s biggest power......
