A tagalog saying goes this way "saka mo lang makikilala ang tao pag makasama mo sya sa iisang bubong" Yes this is a way to save women from the irresponsible man, we have to think the situation of women eventhough we are living in a xtian country. If divorce is the way to save every married women who are suffering from morally, physically and mentally abuse.
Kau nag aaway.. Baka mamaya hahantung pa yan sa pananakit at patayan For me yes ..because I do believe that if a relationship doesn't work at all..why you need to stay.and spend the rest of your life that you are not happy with it...
Dapat legalize na yan ..kasi meron naman tayong anullment which is very unfair para sa mahihirap kasi mayayaman lang nakaka-afford.. unfair law yang anullment para sa walang pera ..unlike pag may divorced mas affordable at mas madali para sa lahat..
As of 2003, it was recorded that 4 out of 25 marriages in the Philippines end up in Legal Separation. Other couples decide not to legalize their separation simply because they cannot afford it. This is one of the many reasons why many politicians are pro divorce. Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage by court or other competent bodies (Oxford, nd.). It is way cheaper than annulment and legal separation. Philippines is the only country in the world that does not allow divorce because the Church is against it. All countries including predominantly Catholic countries in the world like Spain, Poland, and Mexico permit divorce. Maybe the Church there has opposed it, but the state has recognized the right of couples to choose the life they want (Wallace, 2013). The divorce bill has been languished in the Philippine Congress for 13 years. Although the Church is…...

...novel might not be printed, and that it would remain unread. He was struggling with financial constraints at the time and thought it would be hard to pursue printing the novel. A financial aid came from a friend named Máximo Viola which helped him print his book at a fine print media in Berlin named Berliner Buchdruckerei-Aktiengesellschaft. Rizal at first, however, hesitated but Viola insisted and ended up lending Rizal P300 for 2,000 copies; Noli was eventually printed in Berlin, Germany. The printing was finished earlier than the estimated five months. Viola arrived in Berlin in December 1886, and by March 21, 1887, Rizal had sent a copy of the novel to his friend Blumentritt.[3] On August 21, 2007, a 480-page then-latest English version of Noli Me Tángere was released to major Australian book stores. The Australian edition of the novel was published by Penguin Books Classics, to represent the publication's "commitment to publish the major literary classics of the world."[4] American writer Harold Augenbraum, who first read the Noli in 1992, translated the novel. A writer well-acquainted with translating other Hispanophone literary works, Augenbraum proposed to translate the novel after being asked for his next assignment in the publishing company. Intrigued by the novel and knowing more about it, Penguin nixed their plan of adapting existing English versions and instead translated it on their own.[4] Reaction and legacy This novel and its sequel, El filibusterismo......

Noli Me Tangere

Buod Ng Noli Me Tangere

Noli Me Tangere: Ang Pagtitipon

Noli Me Tangere Kabanata 8-11

...I. Introduction This qualitative research is to give background about the two nationalistic book of Dr. Jose Rizal, El filibusterismo and Noli Me tangere. This will give the reader the historical background of what had happened during those times of writing and printing the said books. Also, this will give you the values and significance why do we really need to study these. This term paper will give us the significance and value of Rizal’s notable works that gave government the idea to enact a law in studying Rizal in different schools and universities. Also, having this term paper, this will explain the vastness of Philippine culture during Spanish Colonialism and what were Rizal’s contribution to the status of Philippines. This qualitative research was an attempt to study the extent of applicability of academic freedom in Philippine education in terms of its concept and development. The term has been defined as the freedom of the teacher or research worker in higher institutions of learning to investigate and discuss the problems of his science and to express his conclusions through publication or in the instructions of the students. Political or ecclesiastical authorities or administrative officials of the institution are barred from interfering with this right of the teacher unless the same is contrary to professional ethics. Academic freedom is exclusively the domain of academic community. Academic freedom may be viewed from two standpoints such as the point of view......

Noli

...------------------------------------------------- Noli me Tangere Chapter 5 summary Crisosto Ibarra proceeded to his room after being dropped off. Too preoccupied with what he had just heard, Ibarra, although looking out the window, did not notice the house on the opposite bank, well-lit and with orchestra music being played. Had he observed more closely, he would have noticed the different class of people surrounding the lovely Maria Clara: Chinese, Spaniards,Filipinos, soldiers, curates, old men and young. Maria Clara, clothed in a picturesque garment, was having her hair fixed by Dona Victorina. Father Damaso was admiring her beauty while Father Sibyla was talking to her. Only a young Franciscan, who looked thin and wasted, was indifferent to her and what was happening around him. Ibarra, tired from all the thinking, fell asleep and only the Franciscan stood awake all night. ------------------------------------------------- Noli me Tangere Chapter 4 summary While admiring the tranquil night, the elder Lieutenant greeted Ibarra while he was deep in thoughts. He surprised Ibarra by revealing how much he knew about the elder Ibarra. Don Raphael Ibarra was the richest man in the province. While many did like him, there were also some who despised him out of envy. Once, there was a Spanish ex-artilleryman who was discharged from the army. Because hard labor would bring shame to their prestige, he somehow got himself a job as a tax collector. But this Spaniard was......

...Chapter 35 The Fiesta By seven in the evening, guests have begun to arrive. Arriving first were the petty government officials and clerks. Within a while, Juanito Pelaez and Paulita Gomez have also arrived escorted by Dona Victorina. Basilio stood before the house observing the people going in the house. He then noticed Simoun alighted with the lamp in his hand. He knew that the lamp is a bomb that will blow up the whole house along with the people in it. Fearing for his safety, he walked away. But as he was doing so, he noticed Isagani and also urged him to leave. He refused explaining that this would be the last night he’ll see Paulita as a single woman. Basilio explained to him that the place is mined and that the lamp is set to blow up anytime soon. Realizing that Paulita will likely be killed from the explosion, he immediately ran into the house. Inside the house, a note was passed around containing the words Mene, Tekel, Phares and signed Crisostomo Ibarra. Since only Father Salvi knew who he was and verified that the handwriting is his, he tremebled with fear over the idea that he is going to kill all of them. Noticing that the light is fading away, the Captain-General asked Father Irene to turn up the wick. Just then Isagani barged into the room, grabbed the lamp and jumped into the river. All the while, the servants thought it was a thief. Chapter 36 Ben-Zayb’s Allicitions Ben Zayb immediately went home to write about the incident that happened at the......

Noli Me Tangere Insights

...Noli Me Tangere Conclusion Noli Me Tangere was the most controversial novel of Rizal aside from the predicaments he encountered just to publish this novel. It aims to promote awareness and to free Filipino people using diplomatic means. Rizal aimed to redeem the country and its people by exposing the barbarity, greed, cruelty and ignorance of the Spanish colonizers. Noli Me Tangere portrays the different aspects of gaining independence. Jose Rizal focuses in social climbers, abusive power, family devotion, self-sacrifice, purity and faithfulness. Having been colonized by the Spaniards since 1500s, the author depicts the Filipinos suffering abuse from civil guards, friars and other government officials. Using their power to mistreat civilians, the civil guards harass them because of simple causes, such as not rendering the customary salute, etc. The same goes with friars who commercialize religion through simony and plenary indulgence. Government officials likewise make use of their power to control those whom they believe would be detrimental to the Spanish rule. Just as Crisostomo Ibarra, the main character in the novel, experiences this through the death of his father, this theme in “Noli Me Tangere” comes to life. Another very evident theme in the novel turns out to be patriotism. Portrayed by Ibarra and Elias, these two men earnestly desire for independence from the oppressors. Although different in their means of seeking reform, they both press their goals. Believing......

...Ethics related to Sociology Introduction Living in this world without any companion is like a world without color. It is like you have drowned from the deepest part of darkness. As the saying “No man is an island”, it is proven that a person can’t live within itself. You must have friends and socialize with them in order for you to make a wonderful living. Having interaction with other people—sharing some beliefs and practices may consider as part of sociology. Sociology itself means “the study of society”, where it came from the Greek word “socio” means “society” and “-logos” mean “the study of”. Sociology is the scientific study of society, of the ways of which society is organized and operates, and of the factors contributing to both societal stability and social change. It is concerned with patterned social regularities rather than with unique personal experiences. Simply means that sociology is the study of the things around the society. Studying the society also involves ethical values where people will be taught how to live doing the right thing over the wrong one. Though people have their own ways of living, each of us may consider that ethics is very important in everyone’s life. Based on Emerita S. Quito, the author of the book “Fundamentals of Ethics”, ethics is from the Greek word “ethos” meaning a characteristic way of doing things, or a body of customs. In general, ethics is meant to be applied in order to teach the people how to live essentially doing......

Noli Me Tangere

...Noli Me Tangere (novel) Noli me Tangere Image:Original cover, Noli me Tanger.jpg original cover Author Jose Rizal Country Philippines (first printing in Berlin) Language Spanish Genre(s) novel Publisher Publication date 1887 Media type Print Followed by El filibusterismo Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not as the alternative English title) is a Spanish-language novel written by José Rizal and published in 1887 in Berlin. The novel is commonly referred to by its shortened name Noli; the English translation was originally titled The Social Cancer, although recent publications have retained the original Latin. The literal translation is touch me not. Rizal derived these words from the Bible, specifically the Gospel of St. John 20:13-17, which describes how lepers were made to wear signs bearing these words to warn passers-by of their condition. "Touch me not" were also the warning words spoken by Jesus to Mary Magdalene when he rose from the dead. In the Gospel of John, Jesus said this because he has not accomplished his mission (after rising from the dead, he must ascend to heaven to see God the Father) and hence, cannot be touched. French writer D. Blumenstihl says that "Noli me tangere" is in fact the professional nickname used by ophthalmologists (such as Rizal himself) for cancer of the eyelids.
