Our world today is infested and becoming way more dangerous with all these chemicals. In an effort to increase productivity and confine bigger market shares, the use of fertilizers, pesticides, food additives such as dyes and additives has become so common that artificial ingredients are now outnumbering natural ingredients on many food content labels, and it is the opinion of many experts that this forever increasing use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and chemical additives has a direct connection to the alarming rise in cancer rates and other health problems. (Aldrich, P. 1)
Organic foods are quickly becoming recognized as a reasonable alternative in this chemical loaded world. The focus on environmentally sound agricultural methods and prolonging agriculture is getting the attention of many who are now concerned about what they're eating as well as the environment. Organic foods are what is happening. They are becoming a part of many traditional diets, and are viewed as an important and essential part of a healthy diet plan. They are also viewed as a reliable and safe alternative to the issues regarding conventionally grown, processed, and packaged foods. Many organic followers believe that once you've tasted organic foods you can't go back to typically grown foods the taste is unbelievable. People are now looking for good food with real nutrition and quality and they're finding it in organic foods.
The realization of a need for quality food supplies is awakening interest in other areas such as environmental stewardship. These concerns range from recycling your pop cans to selecting environmentally friendly household cleaning products. Learning organics provides many easy and interesting ideas that can help you do your part in preserving a healthy, prosperous environment for the people in your family.

PRADO Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University La Union, Philippines ABSTRACT Growth performance of Pechay, Brassica rapa,was tested using two organically produced composts and an inorganic fertilizer serving as control. Addition of BioN during the basal application was part of the organic inputs. Treatments were distributed in 4 replicates following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Each treatment was composed of 16 plants at a distance planting of 20cmx40cm between hills and rows respectively. Application of basal fertilizer was done and harvesting was conducted twice starting from 30 days and 34 days. The effect of fertilizer was measured in terms of plant height, leaf area, weight of marketable leaves, weight of marketable plant, number of leaves per plant and the leaf area infestation. Except for leaf area pest infestation, result showed that those plants applied with vermicompost manifested the highest mean, though insignificant differences existed (P>.05) Hence, use of organic fertilizer is comparable with the use of urea in pechay production. It is recommended to organic farmers and gardening enthusiasts that use of organic inputs is preferred due to its econoic and environment friendly attributes. ...While supporters may pay three times as much for organic foods and say it is safer, more nutritious, and better for the environment; there is research that shows that organic food is not healthier nor significantly safer than the conventional alternative. A meta-analysis of 237 studies led by Stanford University researchers compared the nutrient and contaminant levels in organic food to the levels in conventional foods. The research concluded there is no significant evidence to determine that organic foods are more nutritious than conventional foods. However, conventional produce had a 30% higher pesticide residue than organic produce (Smith-Spangler et al., 2012). This study was conducted very well and included a variety of evidence to make the conclusions more reliable and generalizable. One thing that researchers noticed is that many of these studies had publication bias and reported incomplete results to find differences in the two types of produce where none exist. Another limitation to the study was that many of the studies were done in an experimental field that may not replicate the practices done in the real world. Many individuals buy organic foods with the belief that it is pesticide free.
