As technology enhances technical schooling is need to survive. The subject of math is no longer elite. Until math skills are needed it is not appreciated by this world. Many people are fearful when they find out that math is involve are related to test taking. This subject is usually taught as right or wrong. Algebra- the part of mathematics in which letters and other symbols are use to represent numbers and qualities in formulas and equations. Math is used for other reasons like educating the ones that don’t know how to use it there are many type of mathematics problem. Precalculus- a course in mathematics that prepares a student for calculus and trigonometry- is the branch of math dealing with the relations of sides and angles of triangles and with the relevant functions of any angle. Science has been around for many years to help experiment on things and to find out formulas. Many of the formulas help for many different things like nature and even with medicine. Oxygen- O2 and hydrogen- H2 are some formulas used. Science also has many similar formulas like math like magnitudes. Math and science are similar in their own way they have equations alike and formulas. Science uses equations to measure the magnitudes brightness between two stars. There are actually two types of magnitude: apparent and absolute. When......

Who I Am

...potential, But without the proper education, those ideas will still be trapped in my head never to see the light of day. So I come to you with my goals and dreams weighing heavily on my shoulders. I realize that Engineering is one of THE hardest degrees to earn in college, but as you can see from my letters of recommendations. I will not be shot down that easily. I strongly believe that the human brain is the most beautiful and most valuable thing we have in our universe. Each and every one of us has the power to do amazing things, solve the most difficult problems, even disprove what most believed was ‘impossible’. “It may be difficult, but it’s far from impossible” as I always say. I understand that I will need to have knowledge in PreCalculus before I begin classes and that is exactly what I will do. As soon as my wrestling season is over I will sign up for Pre-Calculus on the Florida Virtual School. I also understand that My SAT scores don’t really seem to match who I really am in school, and I am still working on improving my scores despite that I don’t perform well under pressure and the fact that I have had 2 concussions playing Varsity Football. I plan to do great things in the future, and you can help me get one step closer. This, is who I am. Sincerely, Gustavo A Villarroel...

Discrete Mathematics

...objects of study in discrete mathematics are discrete objects, analytic methods from continuous mathematics are often employed as well. In the university curricula, "Discrete Mathematics" appeared in the 1980s, initially as a computer science support course; its contents was somewhat haphazard at the time. The curriculum has thereafter developed in conjunction to efforts by ACM and MAA into a course that's basically intended to develop mathematical maturity in freshmen; as such it is nowadays a prerequisite for mathematics majors in some universities as well.[5][6] Some high-school-level discrete mathematics textbooks have appeared as well.[7] At this level, discrete mathematics it is sometimes seen a preparatory course, not unlike precalculus in this respect.[8]...

...cognitive thought and to categorize student responses into the taxonomy levels (Wong & Wong). Validation of Bloom’s Taxonomy in E-Learning Vidakovic et al. (2003) described an online assessment based on Blooms’ taxonomy to evaluate a precalculus course. The objectives of the study were to improve student’s learning by evaluating how much they were actually learning from the course and to provide direction to the instructors. Vidakovic et al. carried out the experiment in a three-credit precalculus course in which the instructor used WebCT as a tool for e-learning. They hypothesized that using WebCT for teaching a precalculus course was effective. The dependent variable of the study was the outcome or result of the student’s learning. Vidakovic et al.’s intention was to lessen the use of the results for a grade and concentrate on the student’s 376 Journal of Education for Business progress while learning the course material. The independent variables of the study were student motivation, mathematical background, time dedicated to study, and interaction with the instructor. Vidakovic et al. concluded that the students had a low motivation level and their background in math was not strong. As a result, e-learning was not effective for precalculus. In Kartha’s (2006) study, no significant differences were observed between statistics students in traditional and online courses. Kartha designed a 25-question survey to measure the results of the course, features of teaching, and......

...Ryne Rogers AH120 Writing in the World Professor Mason Argumentative Paper The New Technique Imagine yourself back in high school; you are a student sitting at a desk with this year’s final exam. You have a sharpened pencil, calculator, and a bottle of water; also you have a total of four hours of sleep because you have been up since three in the morning studying all of your precalculus notes. At this point the questions are looking the same, and you have to get an “A” to even pass the class. You are getting on an “edge,” you try to work out the problem however the numbers do not look quite right. You look at the clock and see that you have only ten minutes left to complete the exam. Now you are frantic to even finish; you’re making simple errors that even a 5th grader would not make. Suddenly you hear, “Time!” now you are just putting down random answers and praying. Has this happened to you before? You do not only share this stressful scenario but also with so many others. With as many people come just as many remedies; from taking Red Bull, Five Hour Energy, or even drugs, trying to take this pressure away. Now let me inform you of another remedy that might work and that you have heard of before, meditation. Now many believe that this “ritual” is tacky and would not help students manage their stress, although some believe the contrary. One of the biggest advocates of meditation in the classroom is David Lynch, a film director and author of Catching......
