Relationship Maintenance and Facebook

...as the Millennium Generation, Millenials, and Net Generation represents the United States population born after Generation X (Cheese, 2008; Shapira, 2008; Strauss & Howe, 1992). Relationship Maintenance. Over the past decade, relational maintenance remains one of the most researched areas(Rabby, 2007). Communication scholars have suggested the process of relationship maintenance is crucial to relational satisfaction and the survival of a relationship (Ayers, 1983; Bell, Daly, & Gonzalez, 1987; Canary & Stafford, 1994; Dainton, Zelley, & Langan, 2003) with Canary and Stafford (1994) explaining without maintenance behaviors a relationship will deteriorate. Relational maintenance is a dynamic process which requires persistent communication between partners (Dindia, 2003). The process of relationship maintenance involves performing symbolic behaviors that communicate a person’s desire to continue the relationship, often referred to as maintenance strategies (Bryant & Marmo, 2009). Relationship Maintenance and Computer-Mediated Communication. Researchers have recently begun to examine the role of computer-mediated communication and online relationship maintenance (Joinson, 2001; Rabby & Walther, 2003; Ramirez & Broneck, 2003; Wright, 2004). Social networking sites offer advantages over traditional means of maintaining relationships (Wright, Craig, Cunningham, Igiel, & Ploeger, 2008). Facebook and other social networking sites offer a cheap and convenient way to communicate...

Resignation Letter

...month, I am going to start my MBA program. In your organization I hardly get any vacation whereas I would require at least two days leave in a week for joining my MBA classes. And your organization won’t allow me this leave and for the greater interest of the company I also do not appreciate such types of leave. So practically it’s not possible for me to run both job and MBA Together. As to why, I have decided to resign myself from this job and continue my MBA studies. I, therefore, thank you again for the professional and personal development that you have provided me during the last one month. I have enjoyed working for the organization and appreciate the support provided me during my tenure with the company. Sincerely, MD. FAZLE RABBY ...

Determinants of Trade Balance of Bangladesh

...Bachelor of Business Administration Khulna University Khulna, Bangladesh Scholarship Donor: Bangladesh Bank Asian Institute of Technology School of Management Thailand February 2015 Acknowledgement I would like to express my gratitude to my advisor Dr. Sundar Venkatesh, who supported and guided me throughout my research with much patience and empathy. I am thankful to the Asian Institute of Technology for arranging a professional master’s program for the working executives. I am much obliged to Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh) for granting me the scholarship for the entire period of my study. I am also thankful to my colleagues and classmates at PMBF, AIT, especially to Mr. Obaydullah Al Masud and Mr. Golam Rabby Masud, for their support, interest and valuable comments. ii ABSTRACT The balance of trade or net exports is rather an interesting issue because of its perplexing relationship and impacts on economies. Bangladesh is a rapidly growing market-based economy in the South Asian region. It has a long history of sustaining a negative trade balance, importing more goods than it exports. In spite of the robust average annual GDP growth of over 5% achieved after 90’s, the overall trade deficit is getting bigger both in nominal terms and as a % share of GDP. On June 2014 the country had a trade deficit of USD 10,830.29 million which is equal to 7.22% of its GDP and seven and half fold increase from that in 1986. This poses......

A Study of Nike's Operation in Bangladesh Through a Pestle Analysis

...with, is staying true to their CRS promises. They continue to do business in Bangladesh but also push for changes within the country before investing more (Zadek, 2004). These types of experiences, actions, and their recognized name help them when doing business in Bangladesh. Even though Nike does not directly deal with advanced electronic technology, its early entry into the Bangladesh market did bring valuable knowledge into the developing nation. With investments from foreign companies like Nike, Bangladesh’s textile and ready-made-garment industry has grown to become one of the country’s most important sectors. Nike has developed technologies like water free dying, seamless knitted shoes, and clothing made from recyclable plastic (Rabby, 2012). Because manufacturers in emerging economies are working with these new techniques, they can gain knowledge that could be applied in other jobs and situations. These techniques give Bangladeshis more skills, but they also help to fight some of Bangladesh’s environmental problems. Furthermore Nike has trying to become more environmentally friendly by cutting out toxins and other harmful materials out of their products. These ideas are part of their strategy to make Nike production “green” (Sharma, 2013). Conclusion The PESTLE analysis of Bangladesh shows that it is not easy to successfully work in Bangladesh, like many other developing nations. Presenting Nike’s history, current situation, strategies in relation to Bangladesh......
