I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

There is a great need for sarcasm font.

Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the hell was going on when I first saw it.

I think everyone has a movie that they love so much; it actually becomes…...

...environment at hand and lastly the cost of establishment and implementation of a HR department. Descriptive study has been undertaken to address this paper due to the absence of HR department in the university. Through this study feasibility of an HR department is inquired. The methods used for data collection and research is entirely based on a survey which consists of a combination of questionnaires and interviews which have enabled us to collect primary data for this study as no secondary data can be found due to the absence of the HR department in the university. Multi-stage sampling was carried out where sampling is conducted by using 2 techniques. Here they used random sampling and systematic sampling. Faculty members and employees from the administrative staff were selected as sample. Although selection was random but was based on certain set of rules i.e. systematic sampling. Faculty members were selected from all departments but on the basis of specific seniority where faculty members defined as assistant professors and senior lecturers with at least 1 year experience. In case of administrative staff their seniority and experience in the campus was highly considered when drawing a sample. The sample size for research consisted of 30% of the total number of faculty members, therefore 25 faculty members and about 5 staff members from the administration department. Q2. Why did the author select these methods for his research paper? Ans2. We will describe the......

...mother coming to the door…she opened it and hugged me like I’ve never been hugged before. I knew she had accepted me, now for the rest of my family. As I sat down at the dinner table it was completely silent. I assumed no one knew what to say to me. No one in my family knew the real reason for my actions; so, I started off by explaining my story in a way they could understand. I was eighteen years old when my father died and that’s where it all started. My family had always been of lower class but we could get by. But when my father died we had nothing. My mother was working two jobs to support my younger brother, and me but it wasn’t enough. So I took it upon myself to ameliorate the situation. But me being eighteen and ignorant, I thought drug dealing would get me money fast. This went good for a while, making hundreds of dollars a day, until it all spiraled down hill, fast. I was making one of the biggest deals of my “career.” When I realized I had been set up, the police were waiting for me at the designated area. They put me on trial and threw me in jail for 12 years; there was nothing I could do about it. After explaining everything to my family they were still silent. Did they not accept me? I was 30 years old now; I was a totally different person. Finally, after five minutes of extremely awkward silence, they all stood up simultaneously to come over to where I was seated, and give me the biggest hug. I was the happiest person in the room (besides my mom). The......

...Here we have forgotten that the very first and best school of a child is its mother’s lap. A good healthy society doesn’t automatically emerge on its own and stands firm but it needs to be emerged and for its emergence women play a pivotal role. From behavioral to health education women have their hands in. it’s a woman who teaches how to behave, how to speak and how to deal with different classes of people. These all are the basic fundamentals of a good society and women are the main contributors in building up a strong society. aArabia, the origin of Islam, in pre-Islamic ages was wrapped all over by blanket of evil deeds, wicked thoughts and immorality. Women were the most effected during that time. They were treated like animals. They were only used as sex toys and they were worse than slaves. The new born baby girls were buried alive as they thought girls were a curse for the family and society. But! They didn’t know that Allah’s blessings are upon that home and parents that have daughters. With the advent of Islam, the women got the respect and status in the society that she ever deserved. It the woman who is a mother and Islam has taught us that “paradise lies under the feet of mother”. From this we can judge women’s respect and importance in our life and society. aThe western countries have tremendously developed in all fields of life. Their education, their health departments, the departments of information technology are the in the highest rankings. In western......

Composers began to shift from tonality to the twelve-tone system because they discovered it was a compositional technique rather than a special musical style. 89. Twelve-tone compositional techniques used to organize rhythm, dynamics, tone color, and other dimensions of music to produce totally controlled and organized music are called Serialism. 90. ...Introduction to Randomness and Random Numbers. Randomness and random numbers have traditionally been used for a variety of purposes, for example games such as dice games. With the advent of computers, people recognized the need for a means for a means of introducing randomness into a computer program. Surprising as it may seem, however, it is difficult to get a computer to do something by chance. A computer running a program follows its instructions blindly and is therefore completely predictable. Computer engineers chose to introduce randomness into computers in the form of pseudo-random number generators. As the name suggest, pseudo-numbers are not truly random. Rather, they are computed from a mathematical formula or simply taken from a pre-calculated list. A lot of research has gone into pseudo-random number theory and modern algorithms for random numbers have the characteristic that they are predictable, meaning they can be predicted if you know where in the sequence the first number is taken from. For some purposes, predictability, is a good characteristic, for others it is not., Random numbers are used for computer games but they are also used on a more serious scale for the generation of cryptographic keys are for some classes of scientific experiments. For scientific experiments, it is convenient that a series of random numbers can be replayed for use in several experiments, and pseudo-random numbers are well suited for this purpose. For cryptographic use,......

As, Curley's voice, and the other pursuers, are heard getting nearer and nearer, George sits with Lennie, and asks him to look across the river, and quietly raises a pistol behind his head, and once again rehearses their American Dream. '' We gonna get a little place... An we'll have maybe a pig an' chickens...Gonna do it soon... You... an' me. Everbody gonna be nice to you. Ain't gonna be no more trouble... He could see the emptiness of the freedom that he had claimed to be losing by being with Lennie. "I could take my fifty bucks and go into town and get whatever I want. Why, could I stay in a cat house all night... Get a gallon of whiskey, or set in a pool room...Jus' foolin', Lennie. Cause I want you to stay with me. If the payer is to choose i without knowing the value of j, the best choice is the one that maximizes the expected monetary value: where is the expected payoff for action i i.e. the expectation value, and is choosing the maximum of these expectations for all available actions. On the other hand, with perfect knowledge of j, the player may choose a value of i that optimizes the expectation for that specific j. Therefore, the expected value given perfect information is where is the probability that the system is in state j, and is the pay-off if one follows action i while the system is in state j. Here indicates the best choice......

...Climate Change What is climate change? Climate includes patterns of temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and seasons. "Climate change" affects more than just a change in the weather, it refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time. These climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them.Because so many systems are tied to climate, a change in climate can affect many related aspects of where and how people, plants and animals live, such as food production, availability and use of water, and health risks. For example, a change in the usual timing of rains or temperatures can affect when plants bloom and set fruit, when insects hatch or when streams are their fullest. This can affect historically synchronized pollination of crops, food for migrating birds, spawning of fish, water supplies for drinking and irrigation, forest health, and more. Some short-term climate variation is normal, but longer-term trends now indicate a changing climate. A year or two of an extreme change in temperature or other condition doesn’t mean a climate change trend has been "erased.” Worldwide, people are paying serious attention to climate change. In Washington state, climate change is already disrupting our environment, economy and communities. We can help slow it down, but we must take action now. Since elementary days , maybe, some of you like me, always heard about how to manage proper segregation......

...cultures at both Apple and Pixar – and their work speaks for itself. #14 Take Risks Jobs was willing to cannibalize his company’s products in the name of progress. Many CEOs would have been hesitant to develop the iPhone, knowing full well that it would help to make the iPod obsolete – but Jobs did it anyway (and took a big bite out of the lucrative mobile market). Don’t be afraid to take risks. Especially smart ones. #15 Create a Personal Brand Steve Jobs was one of the first people to recognize the growing importance of personal brands in the Internet age. His black turtleneck is as instantly recognizable as the Apple logo. #16 Have a Higher Purpose Buddha said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” Jobs has turned his vision into reality since he began practicing Buddhism in the 1970’s. #17 Find the Right Partner There is no more important decision in your life than the person you decide to share it with. Choose wisely (as Steve did), and you have a partner who will help see you through daily challenges. #18 Fail Forward Everybody fails. It’s how you respond to those failures that makes all the difference. In 1984, Steve Jobs was fired from Apple. At Stanford’s 2005 commencement address, he had this to say about it: “I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by......

...believed in universal laws and in the main, remaining static, waiting to be discovered in the bodily realm along with those in the ethical realm. This includes respect for nature, reflecting the modern pantheism, or the view that the Universe and God are identical. Just like many other Enlightenment thinkers during his time, Voltaire thought of himself as a deist, conveying the idea and asking the question: What is faith? He believed that God existed as a necessary, eternal, supreme, and intelligent being. Regarding religious texts, Voltaire’s opinion of the Bible was varied. His distrustful attitude to the Bible separated him from Biblical-political writers like John Locke, who was another well-known Enlightenment thinker. Despite his doubtfulness this didn’t hinder his religious practice, but it did win him a bad reputation in certain religious groups. TOLERANCE TOWARDS RELIGION An essay Voltaire wrote in 1763, he supported the toleration of other religions and ethnicities. He felt as if all people should consider themselves as brothers because they were all children of the same father, and creatures of the same God. RACE AND SLAVERY; HIS THOUGHTS In the face of all his religious beliefs, Voltaire didn’t believe in the Adam and Eve story, he was a polygenist or, one who maintains that animals of the same species have sprung from more than one original pair, who ventured that each race had distinct origins. He divided humanity into varieties—races and attempted to......
