Repair Shop

...Michael Dotson Mr. Martin NT1110 Friday P.M. Repair Shop Well in this situation there are many pros and cons. The pros to this situation would be one you still have everything on the DVD but you have to put it all back on the computer. This would affect someone who has had the computer for a while because they may have more information on the computer to that of a new computer. Just installing the operating system and formatting the hard drives means any applications they have on the computer are gone and would have to be reinstalled which could take a while or may not be available at the time they need them. If someone has had the computer for a while and just used it for the internet they would not be as bad off as say a student who has all his work on the computer. Someone who uses it for business could be affected very badly also. They would probably have a lot of work on the computer and may lose some of this work if they have to get rid of the operating system and would then have to hope they have it backed up somewhere and then have to put it back on the computer, which could take a long time. It would also be bad for say someone like an author who has saved all of his work on this computer because he may lose some of it and have to spend a lot of time putting it back on the computer....

Repair Shop

...Unit 10 Analysis 1: Repair Shop NT1110-T Repair Shop Since a computer repair shop will pretty much automatically due two things before working on your computer, which is back up any pictures, videos and documents to a DVD and format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system, it sounds like a good thing to do. However, there can be some pros and some cons to this. The pros would be that everything is backed up and saved on a DVD, therefore none of the customers information is lost on the computer; this would be less time consuming for the customer. The customer would also benefit from a formatted hard drive and the reinstallation of the operating system. Once done, the customer has a repaired computer. The cons to this, is that the customer could be out of a considerable amount of money. Most repair shops will charge for the backup of all files. So it would be best to this on your own before taking it in. Also, the repair shop will not install all the applications that you were using on your computer. Again, you would have to take the time to do this yourself after all repairs are done. Different users can be affected much differently by the policies of this repair shop. Someone with a brand new computer would not have anything to back up versus someone that has had their computer for several years. A user that mostly browses the internet and does not email will not lose documents, files versus a business professional that creates these things on a......

Sherman Act

...1-Was Continental’s conduct illegal under the Sherman Act? Why or why not?  2-Is predatory pricing a per se violation? (Support your answer). Section 2 of the Sherman Act prohibits monopolizing and I believe Continental’s conduct is illegal under the Sherman Act because ITT is engaged in predatory pricing. ITT Continental lowered the actual cost of the bread to drive a potential competitor Inglis bakery out of the market and the lower prices earned ITT more grocery shelf space. Jennings. Marianne M. Business: Its Legal, Ethical, and Global Environment. 9th Edition. Chapter 16 page 532-533. As per the text (pg 539) price fixing is the following: Any agreement or collaboration among competitors “for the purpose and with the effect of raising, depressing, fixing, pegging, or stabilizing the price of a commodity” is price fixing, is a per se violation of Section1 of the Sherman Act. Horizontal price fixing deals with agreements between and among sellers and competitors to set up prices on certain goods. And vertical price fixing deals with agreements between a manufacturer, distributor, supplier or retailer. Jennings. Marianne M. Business: Its Legal, Ethical, and Global Environment. 9th Edition. General Sherman

...bloody battle. General Sherman realized that attacking the entrenchments of the enemy was fruitless and killed too many soldiers. He went on a path of flanking maneuvers that helped get around these entrenched soldiers. He followed up this plan by attacking the economy of the South and breaking their resolve. The importance of his new plan can be seen on how his tactics of attacking the land and economy, instead of other human beings, and avoiding head-on confrontation actually saved lives for both the Union and Confederate armies. The march from Atlanta to Savannah has taken on a life of its own for historians today. The campaign’s impact has been over-emphasized by his contemporaries on both sides of the war creating a war hero or war tyrant depending on which side was describing his march. One of the reasons Sherman decided to avoid frontal confrontation with the Confederates was because on June 27, 1864 the opposing army dealt his army a major setback. General Sherman initially embraced the frontal assault that many of the Generals in the Civil War were using, but this turned out to be a bloody mistake for him just as it was for Lee and Grant as they faced off in   2   Virginia. This battle represented the most decisive loss for Sherman in a single battle and is known as the battle of Kennesaw Mountain. This attack on fortified positions already cost enormous losses to both the North and South. General Sherman’s attack was no exception. Sherman faced the......

Sherman Compromise

...used to the status quo, were surprised at how forceful the big states were about proportionality, seeing that the Congress had operated so long under the equal suffrage rule. The subject of suffrage in the houses of the legislature proposed in the prevailing Virginia Plan came to a debate on June 9, 1787. Threats to dissolve the Convention, and, indeed, the Union, flew from one side of the issue to the other. Fortunately, when the convention adjourned that day, it did so on a Saturday evening, allowing heads to cool and deals to be made that Sunday for presentation to the Convention on Monday. On June 11, Roger Sherman of Connecticut rose on the floor and proposed: "That the proportion of suffrage in the 1st. branch should be according to the respective numbers of free inhabitants; and that in the second branch or Senate, each State should have one vote and no more." Sherman was very well-liked and well-respected among the delegates, and spoke more in the Convention than anyone except Madison. In his time, he was a leader, respected by political friend and foe alike. His opinion carried weight. He had advanced an idea such as this as far back as 1776, when it was considered too radical to be taken seriously. This time, it not only was taken seriously, but Sherman's voicing of his compromise may have saved the Convention from doom. At first, Sherman's plan failed and was rejected. For several weeks, and through the debate on the New Jersey Plan, his idea lay dormant until June......

Repair Shop

...Repair Shop As a repair shop, people come in every day with problems from their computers. They have people come in with brand new computers or used computers that are a couple years old. With new computers, there might not be a lot of documents, pictures, video, etc. versus an old computer. On old computers, people have all their information stored on it. When it comes to repairing it, there are multiple ways to keep the information from getting lost. At the same time, if it is not done right, you could possibly lose the information. Different types of users could also affect the way computers could be repaired. A person who only uses the computer to surf the internet would not have a problem if they needed to format the hard drive causing the information to be lost. Rapid Repair

...Shen Jiang Finance 6210 Individual Assignment 1---Rapid Repair Auto Parts Given current financial reports, Rapid Repair has two main issues: over-leverage and cash conversion problems. Looking at the firm’s current ratios and quick ratios (Table 3), both decreased from 2008 to 2012, which means Although current ratio in 2012 is higher than the industrial average due to inventory level, the quick ratio in 2012 is significantly lower than the industry because inventory as a current asset takes a great portion. This indicates that the firm’s ability to pay off short term debt is weak. Moreover, the cash conversion cycle is 265 days, which means that it takes the firm 265 days to convert the inventory to cash. The inventory level is really high compared to the industry because the inventory turnover ratio is approximately 1/3 of the industry. Holding too much inventory and unable to convert them into cash shortly also caused that the firm has a very low cash level on average. The firm is also over-leveraged given that the L/A ratio (Table 3) is twice the industry average and the Long term debt/equity ratio in 2012 is three times more. Given the fact that ROA is much lower than the industry, Rapid Repair probably overused its long-term debt to finance its assets. In the end of 2009, the firm doubled its size, however the sales didn’t growth proportionally to the size, which caused the low returns on assets. The interest coverage ratio is too low because the debt to be paid...
