2 Baruch

...and be as though it had not been.” Baruch is basically telling the people that they should keep Israel in their hearts and follow the commandments. Baruch has a vision where the Anointed one will go around slaying the rulers of the 4 kingdoms. Baruch is also told of his death and commanded to talk to the people once more before fasting. Baruch was told that he was going to depart from this place and he must continue with leading these people. It shows a lot of courage to obey a God when he knows he is going to die anyways. Baruch goes to the people and reminds them again to keep obeying the law and that another interpreter shall be with them. This is another reinforcement of the strong theme of obeying the law. Baruch really wants to make shure that these people are going to obey the law. Baruch returns to Hebron to talk to God. There he prays and fasts for seven days. This is now the third time Baruch fasts for seven days. Baruch sleeps one night and has a dream of Black and White waters. Baruch prayed to god for an interpretation of these waters because he felt they were a vision. In this text, nothing happens without meaning. God interprets the vision as follows: The first black waters: Adam's transgression, Second bright waters: Abraham and his generation, Third black waters: wickedness in Egypt, Fourth bright waters: Aaron and Moses, Fifth black waters: Amorites, Sixth bright waters: David and Solomon, Seventh black waters: Jeroboam and kings of Israel,......

Beats Heard Round the World

...Soul and 50 Cent goes by SMS Audio, however, they both sell for similar prices as the Beats. Keeping their products in the high-end price range allows them to compete with the Beats without giving the consumer the impression that there is less value involved. With the emergence of these two competitors, “Beats and its partner, Monster Cable, have sued some competitors, alleging patent infringement” (Martin, 2011). Despite the stiff competition, both companies continue to grow and operate internationally as well. These two headphone brands will most likely be Beats’ biggest competitors if they choose to market themselves in additional foreign markets. Other big names in high-end headphones are Sony, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Panasonic, and Shure. The main difference between Beats, SMS Audio, and Soul, and these other brands is that a famous rapper did not found them. However, Beats have distinguished themselves even further by incorporating its technology in some HTC Smartphones. “In August, Beats announced that the HTC Corporation, a mobile device maker based in Taiwan, had invested $300 million in the company, giving it a majority stake” (Martin, 2011). This deal is a significant and smart move for Beats that puts them already one step ahead of their competition. Beats recognized that the way the population listens to music is changing once again, with smartphones taking over the industry. Ethical Marketing is a very important aspect of this profession and sometimes......

Kumiho

...Kumiho by Charles La Shure Kumiho means, literally, "nine-tailed fox." The following description appears (word for word) in both the Donga Color World Encyclopedia (Tonga wonsaek segye paekhwasajeon) and the Dusan Great World Encyclopedia (Tusan segye taebaekhwasajeon): "A fox with nine tails that commonly appears in the oral tales of our country. It can freely transform into, among other things, a bewitching girl that seduces men. A fox that lives a thousand years is said to turn into a kumiho. There are a number of legendary tales in which the kumiho appears." A half dozen or so of those legendary tales can be found in the encyclopedic Compendium of Korean Oral Literature (Hanguk kubimunhak taegye). A quick look at them will help supplement the brief description given above. In "Transformation of the Kumiho" ("Kumihoui pyeonshin"), a kumiho transforms into an identical likeness of a bride at a wedding, and not even the bride's mother can tell them apart. The kumiho is finally discovered when her clothes are removed. In "Pak Munsu and the Kumiho" ("Pakmunsuwa kumiho"), the famous character Pak Munsu encounters a girl living alone in the woods who has a distinctly fox-like appearance. "The King and the Kumiho" ("Wanggwa kumiho") tells of a king who meets a girl in the woods at night and tells her to take off her clothes after promising to save her debt-laden father. The tale records that it was too dark for the king to see whether she was actually a girl or a fox,......

...work place or somewhere outside the work place. During time 1945 if the African American people want to go to school, but it was hard to attend the class because the system didn’t allow black people to go to school and learn something important to change their life for a better future because of discrimination. In addition, in the 1920, various groups of ethnic minorities were discriminated against through the act of segregation. And this is most commonly associated with African Americans who were separated from whites in most public areas including trains, parks, restrooms, and even cemeteries. During that time, there were signs to use restroom for a black person and white person. When a black person needs to use restroom he has to make Shure he uses the right one. It is the same when they need to use a bus they have to give a seat for a white person or they have to stand on the back side even though there is a seat. For example in December 1, 1955, in a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. While American people remember this woman, they look at her and her actions with pride still today; and they believe she is a hero. After Rosa parks refused to give her seat, the United Nations signed Article 1 of the Declaration on race and racial prejudice, which was published on November 27, 1978 by UNESCO, the United Nations Cultural Organization. The article states that “all humans belong to a single species and therefore, all......

Should There Be Specific Anti Gay Bullying Policies in Schools

...great pathos of two eleven year old boys who committed suicide as a direct result of bullying at school. Poland uses the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) research statistics to make is point that we need policies directly related to anti-gay bullying. The article suggests that by making these policies directly related to the anti-bullying of gay students then the students will be more likely to report the incidents there by lowering the negative effects. Shure, PhD, M. B. (2000, October). Bullies and their victims: A problem-solving approach to prevention. The Brown University Child and Adolescent Behavior Letter. 16 (10) Retrieved May 11, 2012. Summary: Empathy is the focus of this article. The idea of getting a bully to stop and think about how they feel and why they are bullying will help stop it. Having a victim look into why someone is abusing them focusing on the problem of the bully/victim rather than the victim is a way to help children stop the issues on their own. Shure uses pathos with the child that was called Bacon because he was overweight and when the children made fun of themselves the bullying stopped is also a deterrent. The conclusions of this article are that if we teach children to problem solve it will give them more power. Soskis, B. (2001). Bully Pulpit. New Republic, 224(20), 25-27. Summary: Soskis states that “If the bully was once an accepted part of a basically healthy educational environment, he is now the......

...certain microphone reacts when a certain sound frequency enters that microphone. This measures the magnitude and phase of the output in comparison to the input. High & Low Pass Filters: You will often see these icons on a microphone, allowing you to set the microphone to high pass or low pass mode. A low pass filter will cut off some of the high end sound produced by the microphone, a high pass filter will cut off some of the low end sound produced by the microphone. These are helpful for EQ and help clear up the overall mix in live use and studio use. For example, a low pass filter could by used for a female singer, as there is no need for the microphone to be trying to process a full range of low frequencies. Shure SM58 The Shure SM58 is an industry standard, robust dynamic microphone with high sound pressure level capabilities and more usages than anybody can name. Unlike the condenser mic, this does not require any kind of external power such as batteries or phantom power. Specifications Frequency Response: This microphone has a frequency response of 50Hz-15KHz; this is a very wide frequency range, which is why, in my opinion makes it useful for almost anything. Polar Pattern: This mic uses a cardioid polar pattern, which is heart-shaped and picks up sound mainly from the front. Sound Pressure Sensitivity: This is an extremely robust piece of equipment and it is almost indestructible with regards to sound pressure level. It......

...the top brands in this field, it is at the 17th place. Even after Apple, which is know for it’s smart devices and not headphones. Why is this though? Beats owns 57% of the headphone market, more than half, this is because it spends 14$ for each pair of headphones and sells it to customers for approximately 300$ to spend in marketing! Until today around 1.8Bilion dollars were spent on marketing…singers, soccer players, boxing champions or even DJs are payed to wear this brand so that people that admire them will think they are “cool” and will buy them. Shure is another brand of the same field, the difference is that a Beats speaker costs around 299$ and a Shure speaker costs 100$, this because it invests more on the quality than on advertising it, making it nearly unknown by most people. We tend to worry more about what others might think of us than about ourselves…this is why a 15 years old wears Beats and not Shure....

In: Business and Management What Do Marketers Do? What do marketers do? A marketer will have researched the market to find those needs of consumers that have not been developed. A marketer uses a business tool called the “marketing mix.” The marketing mix is essentially made up of the four Ps; price, product, promotion and place. These four elements are the underlying basis and marketing fundamentals to enable the marketer in determining a product or service. (Sharp, 2013) So selling is merely just a fraction of the entire marketing process of a product or service. When one looks closer at each p element of marketing, there is a considerable amount of strategy, planning and research that is required. By understanding the needs of a consumer is merely not enough, there are also other factors which require research and understanding why consumers are influenced in a number of ways to make specific purchases. All these factors are driven ultimately by consumer behaviour. A marketer will have researched consumer behaviour, in other words, they use market science, to systematically......
