The habits of good students and bad students I always believe that the key to an effective study is to learn and adopt good study habits. The difference between good students or bad students depends on how they apply and develop study habits that could help them to study efficiently and effectively. Good students always enjoy some of the great habits that help them to be more productive. The first habit is focusing in the class. That is considered one of the greatest habits to adopt. Because they can learn more, decrease the time of study out the class, take notes and participate with others. The second habit is studying in groups. Students in groups can exchange their notes, reduce distractions if they were studying alone, and learn from each other when they struggle to understand concepts. The third habit is to set a study plan from the first day of school. They always prepare and organize their materials; they prioritize the most important tasks and manage enough time to study before tests. On the other hand, bad students always struggle from the habit of procrastinating and plan to work up to a deadline. This habit causes stress, and make students panic to focus and study. In addition, bad students don’t minimize lifestyle distraction. They don’t pick a quiet environment to study or full of distractions such as technology. Moreover, another bad habit is to study all night and go to school with no sleep. Finally, the most important factor that make students successful is improving their study habits to make them more effective. Therefore, students should try different good methods to be part of their daily…...

The Characteristics That Makes a Good Student

...that make a good student. Whether or not, yet you think it is important to be a good student. The things that you have done or will do to become a good student. What are you willing to sacrafice to be a good student. In life as I went through the education system, I realized that there were three kinds of students. There were the good students, the average students and the bad students. Many people strive to be in the category of the good student, many settle for the category of the average student and some just don’t care so they end up being placed in the category of the bad student. I find that the most important of those categories is the category of the good student. I feel this way because the good student usually accomplish a lot in life and they are usually the successful ones. The average students do what they do, slide by under the radar, and the bad students don’t care, so the just relax for the rest of their lives. I constantly strive to be a good student. Many people have asked me what are the characteristics of a good student, whether I think being a good student is important or not, the things I have done or will do to become a good student, and what will I sacrafice to become a good student. For a while I was puzzled as to what are the characteristics of a good student, but as I sat back, I realized that I was a good student, and that every student has there own mode of operation. They tend to have the same patterns though. First a good student must......

Students with Bad Vices

...Students with Bad Vices Chapter I CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Background of the Study The rate of students involved in bad vices such as smoking, hard drinking, gambling and sometimes illegal drugs, addiction in computer games and variety of gadgets are serious problems that need diplomatic actions. There are lots of reasons why the youth nowadays are being involved in bad vices. One of the major reasons per observation is the lack of quality relationship with their parents because a lot of parents are just being parents who provide material and physical needs and forget the needs of their children in terms of the emotional and moral aspects. High School senior students are driven to do bad things just to satisfy themselves with their bad vices, like stealing money from their parents, cutting their classes hours, getting into troubles in the community or even inside the school. These things may lead to even more unlikely things that they may even do notorious things to their people. The child-parent relationship is even gone worse because youths are being more and more stubborn while the parents are losing their temper and patience to understand the situation of their children. Parents tend to become stricter and they are being more authoritative to their children that may lead to a rebellion against them. Parents should not only be simply just a parent, but they also be a best friend to their children. They should spend more quality time with their family,......

Good Habit, Bad Habit

...Taylor Daily U0677774 11/04/14 Article #3 “Good Habits, Bad Habits” The article I choose to read researched the neurological effects of habits on our brain and if it was possible to change our habits. We all struggle with habits that make us less productive or less efficient but that said we also have many habits (actions we don’t think about) that help us get through a day without wasting time with extra thinking. It is interesting from the article that our brain can make habits but cannot seem to forget them. They are stored even when not being used for a later date and time when needed. Our brains are working and thinking even if we aren’t aware of it. In the Infralimbic cortex of our brain, habits are stored and the actions that go along with them. That part of our brain is active when we go pour a bowl of cereal, or make a cup of coffee in the morning. It is the same routine and our brain isn’t wasting time or energy thinking about things we do everyday, these routines are habits. From an evolutionary standpoint it makes sense that our brains would create habits to help us only focus on the most important parts of the day, and let us focus of figuring out how to stay alive. It comes in handy in a tight situation to not have to think when a quick decision is demanded. Brains in humans and animals have habits that are stored for our safety and helping us get by day to day. A good example of a habit most people learn is driving a car. There is a lot of thinking......

...self-confidence in class as compare to those who have not developed their good study habits. A student who does not have good study habits may not perform well in class recitation, quizzes, and activities. This could happen because he may come to school unprepared. Good study habits are the tool to success. (Losare 2007) “Sound study skills and habits are crucial to academic success. Intelligence alone cannot do the job (although it certainly helps). Good academic skills do not develop overnight. They are acquired gradually, so be patient with you. Fortunately, tasks such as reading textbooks, writing papers, and taking tests get easier with practice” Marabut’s article (2006) of Improving Academic Performance p. 96.
