...Together We Stand James Leach University of Phoenix HUM111 October 21, 2012 Together We Stand We the people of the west community think something went wrong with the building process of the development of the community. We have noticed a number of outbreaks of residents getting ill. The illness is not spread past the housing community. We are concerned for the residents health and well being. We would like assistance in this matter so we can resolve the problems before they get any worse. Residents all received medical attention from their doctors. The doctors all rules out anything cause by viruses that were happening around the community. The evaluations from all residents were all the same no common illnesses around the community matched the one of our community. The doctor did tell us the cause of the illnesses could be caused by a gas leak from a long term espouser to a gas leak. The residents of the community still wanted to ask is there any other way something else could be causing this? Could it be a faulty part the gas company used? The community then had a different plumber that installed gas products to check each of the houses and see if there was any faulty parts. Then they checked the system for leaks. The findings determined there was leaks throughout the community in several locations. The gas company who installed the gas products during construction seemed to be at fault for this. The gas company could have not been installing the correct......

...idea is to have the gas company come out see where the problems are occurring and find a way to fix it without further creating a problem for the people that are living in these houses. If this is the resolution that the community collectively decides to go with there are a few things that need to be covered such as who and how will the community get a hold of the gas company. The only problem that I see using this solution would be the efficiency of it since we are relying on the gas company and getting a hold of them as well as convincing them to do the work may result in delays. Additionally we need to cover problems that may arise from fixing the problem, such as the possibility of people having to leave their homes until the work is completed. There needs to be decisions made about where the people will go and who will pay for the people to stay somewhere else. I propose that we set up a community meeting in which to discuss the current problems and the resolution for the problems. After coming up with a solution we can meet with the gas company to discuss fixing the problem at hand....

...Together We Stand Outline HUM/111 July 1, 2012 Together We Stand Outline I. Introduction To whom it may concern, I am writing this to inform all residents living in or around Bayside that we have had many of our residents become ill with similar extensive symptoms. We have been doing thorough research to get down to the bottom of the problem, and have narrowed the illness down to a possible improper chemical disposal at a nearby company. We are doing everything in our legal power to get this unfortunate matter taken care of. II. Diagnosis The first thing I would do would be to contact those residents whom I know have been contracted with the illness, and ask them questions related to, where were they at the on-set of the illness? How long have they had said symptoms? Did anyone who may have been with them get sick as well? Were they exposed to anything unusual that may have gotten them sick? I would ask many questions that could help me get to the cause of the problem. a. Symptoms Here I would keep a book and log every symptom from every person I interviewed. This would allow me to find a possible pattern in related symptoms. I would also document ages and genders of residents who got the illness, so to see if there is a difference in children versus adult symptoms. b. Medications/Vaccines After evaluating ill residents’ symptoms, I would then ask them questions about what they have done to fight the illness. What medications have they tried?...

Where We Stand with Isis

...Where We Stand With ISIS This past weeks newspaper clipping informs us that defense chiefs from 22 nations met at an air base in Washington, D.C. on the matter of how ISIS is going to be a long term campaign, how every individual state will be able to cooperate, and what they can do to continue on delivering the humanitarian assistance of all the populations that have been affected. This article is a perfect example on foreign policy and how president Obama is acting on the actions of ISIS and what he has done to try and stop them. Just like we discussed in class, foreign policy is the process of decision-making and at this very moment Obama is starting to evaluate different options on decision-making. President Obama is in the starting point of the decision-making process, which is the rational model. The rational model consists of 4 main objectives: set goals, evaluate their importance, calculate the costs and benefits, and choose which action has the highest benefits and lowest cost. President Obama exemplifies this process by meeting with 22 defense chiefs on the matters of ISIS and also a senior military official stated, “"This meeting is to share our vision, discuss coordination and our common understanding of the way ahead." Again, the U.S. led coalition is still in the works of implementing a more thorough action on ISIS. The United States foreign policy towards ISIS is an example of relative power; the perceived amount of power one person or......

...Together We Stand San Juan County, New Mexico, one of the last breaths taking natural oasis left in the United States, is now literally having many of its dearest citizens in our community, taking their last breaths, in addition to many unknown illnesses such as cancers, and tumors. Personally, I have been a resident here for the past forty years, while raising a family of four beautiful children, and a loving wife; until the tragic loss of my wife, in addition to the sudden death our two newborn grandchildren due to cardiovascular issues. At first, I did not realize the coincidence, but later realized that our family was not the only ones who lost family members, sharing many of the same symptoms, which led me to investigate possible cause and effects of the sudden increased number of deaths in our community. After, many hours of research and investigation, one major common denominator kept popping up, “gas drilling”. Yes, neighbors, gas are the invisible plague that has infected our community with unnecessary death and illness. You may ask the question, why gas? For the past five years, no one understood or recognized the changes within our community until recently. First, I examined the common symptoms such as tumors, eye and skin irritation, birth defects, thyroid disorders, to respiratory illness and emphysema; and realized that statistics for many cities including Daytona, Jena, Blue, and Stanton all experience a rapid decline of health amongst their residents. In......

As everyone knows very well that many people in our society suffers from symptoms that seem to all be the same, I think it has nothing to do with our environment around us. I looked into things that can cause a community to react in this way and took the adverse effects which may be caused by an irresponsible policy of gas. If the gas company does not follow strict safety rules that are established by the government, may cause harmful chemicals to leach into groundwater, or has chemical vapors in the air. When this happens, you can make a person’s body to absorb the chemicals in one way or another that can lead to illness or even death. ...think about what the records would be called and how they would conceal it. I found out that the gas company was the cause for why the community was starting to get sick. Although the gas company as at fault we may not want to stop using their services, but merely let them know that the practices of their company is hurting our community. I think if we get together and ask the right questions we will be able to figure out a solution for this problem. I’m pretty sure that the gas company doesn’t want to cause anyone any harm, so confronting them and letting them aware of the dangers they are causing should not be an issue. We need to take the cautious approach when trying to decide what action to take. We don’t want to cause any more illness but we also want to make sure that we don’t cause any unnecessary dangers with the solution. We need to figure out what medical procedures need to be done and the correct action to take when dealing with the gas. By doing this it can help make sure that this never happens again and if it does it is easily detected and taken care of. Our focus is to stop the problem by finding a solution and taking care of those who have already been sick. We want our community safe again and I’m pretty sure you do to. So lets put our heads together and think of ways to address this problem and fix it....

...The reason for writing this letter is to notify our community of the possible health risks established by the local gas company practices. The decision made to write this letter is to inform my much-loved community of people that may have been affected by this sudden break out of illnesses in the area and to spread the word of awareness to this situation to everyone else that might not be aware of this problem. After an extensive investigation I have come to the conclusion that we are in danger of health problems due to improper practices by the gas company within our community some years ago. Moving into this community a couple years ago was the best thing that happened to my family for it was home and felt like home. We have met some of the greatest neighbors and my children attend some of the best knitted schools in the community. My daily commute to and from work has been painless and I have really been able to save more money than usual; due to rising gas prices. Prior to me moving in, I was extremely anxious to move into such a new community that just so happen to be in a suburban area. With the city fairly close to us and shopping centers not more than two miles away is another factor that I have grown to love. Overall, this newly developed community has impacted my family lives for the better. A few weeks ago the local news was covering the latest breakthrough of illnesses impacting the families that stay in our community. After tuning in to this coverage my instinct......
