Nowadays traffic accidents in United States become a worse problem resulting in many deaths, injured, disabilities and damage to both private and public property. According to data from National Committee for Road Traffic Safety, in 2007 the total number of traffic accidents increased to 9449 cases, which killed 1545 persons, injured 24815. This makes traffic accident and death rates in United States are higher. Traffic accidents are caused mainly by drinking, speeding, and cars going off-road while drivers failed to use car’s facilities properly, especially, disobeying the traffic laws. Drunk Driving is not only illegal, but completely preventable. Alcohol-impaired driving is a serious national problem that unfortunately affects many victims yearly. Often, people believe they feel well enough to drive after drinking only a small amount of alcohol. They should be careful not to drive even if they slightly intoxicated after the party. A slight intoxication can reduce one’s response time to maneuver a vehicle. For example, alcohol causes the body to relax and sometimes can blur one’s vision. While in a car, it takes longer for some intoxicated drivers to slow down or to see what cars and obstacles may be in front, behind, or on either side of them. Moreover, Seat safety belts are designed to reduce injuries by stopping the driver from hitting hard elements inside of the vehicle. By not wearing a seat belt, they are also putting their self at harms risk. The leading cause of death for is not wearing seat belts. In some cases, most people do not wear seat belts because of the distance being traveled from their home to a destination nearby for example market, school, or workplace and so on. If the destination is a few blocks down or ten minutes away, some drivers feel that a seat belt is not needed. Plainly, if more people use seat…...

...When an officer comes to the scene of an accident, he or she does a few standard things. 1. Secure the scene 2. Check for and treat injuries 3. Prevent fires and other crashes 4. Photograph the scene 5. Field sketch and measurements 6. Locate and interview witnesses and drivers 7. Exchange information and complete the crash report 8. Tow vehicles 9. Re-establish traffic flow as soon as possible, especially on major roads and around rush hours 10. Cite the violator I would like to go over each of these and give what they mean. An officer's responsibility to conduct a motor vehicle collision investigation begins at the time he or she is directed to the collision scene. It is at that precise moment that the officer should begin to obtain as much information as it is available from the radio operator, such as type of collision, location, extent of injuries, traffic condition, etc1.then the officer should at the set speed for the department procedures of running code to a scene proceed to and secure the scene. If medical attention is needed, the officer will call it in, but assuming that there is no such need, the officer’s first job is to. This is the 1st of the 10 things we as police should do. the patrol vehicle is the first available tool to use in traffic control, other devices such as plastic traffic cones and flares can also be used. Accident

...Heena Lal An Accident                 It was a breezy Saturday afternoon. The clouds covered the sun and bought great harmony into the air. I was a young girl about the age of 10 and was standing on the terrace located on the top of the house. I was smiling and enjoying every moment that went through. Yet, I did not know what game fate would play with me that day, and what choice of.              I was walking around the huge terrace and observing what everyone else was doing because I had nothing better to do. I was mostly companied by people older than me and almost all of them were my relatives. A few were my cousin’s friends. I could view other terraces from the top my terrace and people all around gathered together because it was some kind of celebration. They were lighting all kinds of spectacular fireworks and smoke was everywhere. Everyone on my terrace got the chance to light the fireworks except me since I was so young. So I went and asked one of my cousins for a small firework that was not dangerous for me. I was allowed to light a small firework and hold it until it burned out by itself. I happily ran around the terrace with the firework in my hand. The terrace was so huge so I went from corner to corner. I was mindful not to get too close to an opening about twelve feet down in the terrace. The big square opening lead to another house and the chickens were kept in that little area. It had walls around it but there were no stairs connecting to the terrace......

Aviation and Accidents

...Abstract The purpose of this project is to research a few well known accidents and incidents within the aviation history of the United States of America. The project would further describe some of the changes to aviation in our country because of these accidents and incidents. I will be utilizing articles published on the World Wide Web in order to gather the information needed to complete this project. The project will first define the difference between an Aviation accident and an aviation incident. List some well-known occurrences of each and the impact they have had on the aviation community. Accidents in Aviation Sub Topic “An aviation accident is defined in the Convention on International Civil Aviation Annex 13 as an occurrence associated with the operation of an aircraft which takes place between the time any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flight and all such persons have disembarked, in which a person is fatally or seriously injured, the aircraft sustains damage or structural failure or the aircraft is missing or is completely inaccessible.” Wikipidia (2012). Therefore, for an aviation accident to take place according to the Convention on International Civil Aviation Annex 13 two things must be present at least one person and an aircraft. In the same reference an aviation incident is defined as “an occurrence other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft, which affects or could affect...

Accident

...A Traffic Accident Everyone has received a gift they’ve appreciated and enjoyed at least once in his or her life. When I was young, I had always wanted to get a Ford Mustang as it has been my favorite car. To my luck, my mother was able to afford one and got it as my graduation gift. it was black and blue it had tinted windows and a spoiler. I was 21 years old and had my drivers license for 6 years already.  I was so happy. I had a new car and I was going to drive it. People would comment how nice my car was including family and friends. One starless night at around 9pm I was driving home from my boyfriend Maikel’s house at 30mph when it happened. I never thought I was going to go through such a terrible experience. And an experience I wasn’t going to forget.  I had an accident. Mario ran a stop sign & crashed me. Since he was speeding my car went in circles about 4 times. While it was going in circles it hit the Mario’s car. I was conscious the whole time while inside the car. I was really scared and worried. All I could say was “Oh my god!“ I felt something else hit my car while it was spinning. It was the other car that it hit. As a result Mario’s car got inside the patio of the corner house. My car stopped in front of a palm tree.  When the car came to a complete stop the driver’s and passenger’s airbag popped out. I saw white smoke coming out of the motor of the car. I thought. “I have to get out the car is going to go on fire.” I tried opening the door but...

Traffic

...Background: Traffic congestion is not a new problem. The number of automobiles and trucks have been increased during the last few decades after the car boom period. So there was an urgent need for constructing more highways and bridges , improving traffic-signal controllers, making changeable highway signs, rerouting rush hour traffic, creating traffic-control centers that monitor and display the overall traffic conditions, using preplanned alternative traffic solutions based on repeated daily traffic patterns, etc. However, some strict financial sanctions or fines must be applied to eliminate the problem of traffic jam. For Jeddah city, the streets are overcrowded with cars and people. At the same time, the airports are welcoming a large number of newcomers all over the world every day. Moreover, the number of roads and bridges is not sufficient to the increasing number of vehicles. In addition, in Jeddah there are approximately four million people both Saudis and expatriates who use over one million vehicles to move around the city. We also expect more. Causes of traffic congestion inside the cities Saudi Arabia is a modern Country, but it also has a modern and serious problem. Every day in the morning and evening, the roads and streets are so crowded with cars, taxis, buses and trucks. In this part will mention the causes of traffic congestion in Saudi Arabia’s major cities. In the next lines, we will speak about the several reasons for traffic problems in......

...responsible for this? Traffic Jam is that magician. Traffic jam has become a great monster in our modern life. Traffic jam has turned daily trips into nightmares. The business community inevitably suffers for the constant waste of its most precious resource of time. Others commuters complain of being stuck in jam for hours an end, while residents breathe in a lat more lead and almost 10 percent of its population seeks medical treatment each year for air pollution related respiratory illnesses. I. Drivers don’t comply with traffic rules. II. Allegations of police support to makeshift shops on footpaths and street sidelines and illegal automobile and rickshaw parking, which occupy more than a third of the streets. III. Some police officers are busy for extracting money for allowing illegal parking. IV. Lack of automatic traffic signals, slow-moving illegal rickshaws and rail crossings are also causing serious traffic jam. Many roads of Dhaka city are not spacious according to the necessity. As aresult, traffic jam occurs very now and then in the congested areas even of the highways. Overtaking tendency is another reason which causes traffic jam. Moreover, our traffic system is not so modern and the number of traffic police is insufficient. It is a matter of shame that some so-called politicians., student leaders and selfish persons also create traffic jam in order to fulfill their evil desires Rickshaws also reate traffic jam. Traffic jam stops our normal......

Traffic

...Traffic has always been a problem when driving in a big city. There are many improvements that can be done to fix or lessen the amount of traffic throughout a city. Such things as wider roads (i.e. super highways), monorails, and even for some to re-take their driving tests. The use of monorails within a city as a means of public transportation would be a great way to get from point A to point B, without having to use a personal vehicle and therefore decreasing the amount of vehicles on the road. A downside to using a monorail is the cost. Currently the Bombardier MVI that is being used in Las Vegas, NV, costs $88 million per mile. Expensive yet effective. This would help cut down on the amount of stop and go traffic. Another helpful agenda that would reduce the flow of stop and go traffic is if each state were to issue a bill, stating that a driver after a certain age must retake their driving test. As stated by Moore, Peter in Front Page and Life, “Most Americans think that 75-year olds should have to re-sit their driving tests in order to keep on driving, while people also it’s about as difficult as it should be to get a license in the first place.” Can you think back to a time where you were on your way to say either a doctor’s appointment or running a tad bit late for work and you happen to get stuck behind a slow moving elderly person that clearly wasn’t even driving the speed limit? Having a set age limit by each state for the elderly to retake their driving test......

Traffic Accidents

...Name: David Jenkins Topic: Traffic Accidents Narrowed Topic: Three main causes of fatal traffic accidents in Jamaica. Audience: Drivers, Pedestrians, Police Purpose: To educate the audience of three motives as to why traffic accidents occur in Jamaica and result in loss in life. Thesis: Three causes of traffic accidents are drivers refusing to adhere to road safety rules, deplorable road conditions and environmental factors. I. Drivers have very little caution on the roads, therefore accidents occur on a daily basis with the fault being their own. a. Some drivers have bought their licenses and therefore have no knowledge of the Road Safety Act. b. Dr. Parris Lyew-Ayee of the Mona GeoInformatics Institute, University of the West Indies, Mona, reports that most accident arose from the drivers err tailgating a perfect example to convey this c. Speeding is also a very danger factor and vehicle operators seem to speed more during rain. Drivers, however are not aware that vehicles could “aquaplane” or virtually careen off the road as a result of water forming a second surface between the tyre and asphalt (Boyd, 2012). II. Another cause of fatal traffic accidents are bad road conditions present in Jamaica. d. As a result of lack of financial resources, roads are not repaired whenever damages are present. e. Jamaica, being a Caribbean country experiences long periods of rainfall. This contributes to the deteriorating of road. With......

Boat Accident

...definently hungry. When we finally make it to the order desk, I decided to get a juicy well done ½ burger. I douced it with cheese, lettuce, tomatos, and sweet ranch dressing. I also got large Oreo shake, the oreo shake was as cold as winter day. It was amazing. As we finished lunch, the phone rang. My father answered, “Hello Little Man”. I could tell something was wrong, his eyes widen and got up as fast as he could. He yelled at the table “What the profanity RJ?”, his eyes started to get watery. And told all of us “Get up , we have to go, something has happened to Madi”. As we were sprinting out of the restaurant my eyes started tearing up I wasn’t sure what happened, my father never gets like this. My father is a Vehicular Traffic Detective, he deals with accidents where people have lost a loved one. I have never in my whole entire life, watch my father cry, or tear up in this type of sitatuion. As we got into the car, “Dad what is going on? What happened to madi?” I said to my father. My father said RJ stated “Madi has been exteremley hurt, the boat blew up”. Then the phone hung up and we lost connection with him, at this time not of us knew she was alive, or even anyone else on the boat. He didn’t respond to me after when I asked more questions, all I could hear him say to himself was “My daughter better be alive please don’t take her from me”. That’s when I broke down I lost it. Chills went up down spine thinking of my sister no longer with us, it killed me......

...Traffic is Fatal In the middle of Iglesia ni Cristo’s controversial rally along EDSA last week, one netizen tweeted about how his friend’s mother died because the ambulance cannot get through the heavy traffic on EDSA. This incident started when Jim Paredes tweeted: “If anyone dies in this traffic right now, or an ambulance can’t make it to the hospital, who will answer? Does anyone care?” Sadly, one netizen which is named as @badet_cardona on twitter replied and managed to make Paredes’ tweet to be reality. It was said that his mom’s friend, died at a hospital along Reliance EDSA. Supposedly, it will only take 15 minutes to go there but it took them 1 hour and 27 minutes to reach the hospital. They had to endure the mass rally that Iglesia ni Cristo was doing. And in order to just make it to the hospital, they had to ask favor to the rallyists to at least let them pass through but one woman from the rally replied, “So what?” This response made them so shocked and disappointed for someone who has a religion who strongly believes in God’s teaching and practices them. They also said that they do respect what INC is fighting for but they do have to consider what others are going through as well. In line with this, CNN Philippines also reported that emergency medical service have turned down over 50 requests for ambulances when it has to pass through EDSA. It was estimated that six people died in the past five days of INC rally. All of these tragedies is......

The Accident

...The Accident I woke up in a very strange place. A place I wasn’t quite familiar with. My left arm and left leg wrapped in some kind of brace. I’m familiar with the sporting braces, but this one, was a whole lot different. It had the same fabrics as a regular sporting brace, but much thicker. It was as hard as wooden table. It even sounded like one when I knocked on it. Because of the braces on me, I could barely move my left arm or left leg. After trying to move it, I felt a lot of pain in the process. Everything was so shocking to me. I kept saying to myself, “Where am I? “Where am I? “Where am I? As these questions rushed through my mind, I heard a voice. I looked around the room in search of the voice. On my right, there was a man. He said to me, “What’s wrong Larry”? “You had bad dream or something”? I did not reply. I closed my eyes and started to pray to God. Praying for everything that I just saw was all a dream. With my head against my right hand, everything got quite for a bit. About a minute or two later, I opened my eyes. The braces and the pain were still there. The gentleman kept calling me, “Larry”. He was talking, but I paid no attention. I kept thinking why he was calling me “Larry”. “Who are you”? “And why are you calling me Larry”? I said. He replied saying, “Because it’s your name.” “And I’m Gary, if you forgot that.” I kept looking at him and notice that he wasn’t wearing any of the equipments I was wearing. He had something else. Some kind of......
