Executive Summary
By the year 2040, the population of Tea Gardens is predicted to be 85 000. This will be due to a mining boom in the area where the high level of coal resources will create approximately 30 000 jobs. As there are many more jobs compared to 2004 levels, there will also be more families moving into the Tea Gardens area, meaning more dwellings will need to be built. In 2011, Tea Gardens is surrounded by protected wetlands and it is assumed that they will still be protected in 2040. Hence, the housing industry must start to build flats and high rise apartments to cater for the increase in population. Whilst Tea Gardens will be mainly a mining town, there will also be an increase in tourism during the summer months. There will a maximum of approximately 5 000 tourists per month coming to the Tea Gardens area. Hence, hotels must be built to accommodate this and promote tourism in the local economy. With this large population increase in a short amount of time, more schools and hospitals would need to be built to provide a high standard of living for the growing town. Also, utilities such as electricity, plumbing and water resources must be secured for the future. To secure the water supply for the growing town of Tea Gardens, a dam at Tillegra on Williams River has been proposed. In order to construct the dam to realistic proportions, Group 26 Consulting has performed the following:          Estimated the water demand for both residential and industrial sectors of Tea Gardens. Estimated the flows running through the Williams River at Tillegra. Estimated the amount of water that can be stored in the catchment area for Tillegra. Estimated the evaporation and precipitation levels at the dam site based on 30 years of historical data. Analysed the effect of climate change on the flow through the Williams River. Developed a behaviour analysis model…...

Assignment 6 Competency: Interpersonal Skills and Healthcare Practice

...Assignment 6 Competency: Interpersonal Skills and Healthcare Practice Interpersonal skills in the healthcare setting are a must. You as a medical provider no matter how big or small must know how to communicate with the patrons your facility services. According to Beverly Davis (n.d.) defines interpersonal skills in the healthcare setting as skills that can relax a patient during data gathering and promote the patient's confidence in the health care worker, establish trust and reduce resistance to therapy and improve the ability of the patient to cope with and recover from injury or illness. In my military occupation within the U.S. Navy there are plenty of occasion when I deal with patients. The main part of my job as a Preventive Medicine Technician is education. I potentially can be called to educate Marines and Sailors along with their family members and at random times other Department of Defense employees on such things as proper hand washing technique, deployment readiness, immunizations, and preparing food in a sanitary manner. The education process may also include field sanitation, disease outbreak investigating procedures, and sexually transmitted disease along with human immunodeficiency virus. For this week’s assignment I have chosen option B. I will provide a how to example for healthcare professionals on getting and giving the patient information on sexually transmitted infection (STIs) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Unit 3research Assignment 1 Exploring Reverse Engineering

...Week 3 Research Assignment 1: Exploring Reverse Engineering “Reverse engineering is the process of extracting the knowledge or design blueprints from anything man-made. Reverse engineering is usually conducted to obtain missing knowledge, ideas, and design philosophy when such information is unavailable. In some cases, the information is owned by someone who isn't willing to share them. In other cases, the information has been lost or destroyed” (Eilam, 2005). The advantages and disadvantages of reverse engineering are as follows; Advantages * It helps in the evolving of existing computing systems. * “You can change a program's structure and thus directly affect its logical flow. Technically this activity is called patching, because it involves placing new code patches (in a seamless manner) over the original code” (Hoglund & McGraw, 2004). * As a learning tool * As a way to make new compatible products that are cheaper than what's currently on the market. (Schwartz, 2001) * For making software interoperate more effectively or to bridge different operating systems or databases. * To uncover the uncoordinated features of commercial products. Disadvantages * “Manually translated source code often retains the style and flavour of the original implementation”. (Byrne, 1991) * “The most commonly recognized problem with literal translation is summed up as: garbage in, garbage out. If the existing system is not......

Revision Practice Com 156 Wk. 5 Assignment

...Revision Practice COM 156 Wk. 5 Assignment There are several changes that can be made to this paper. The first change that can be made is in the first paragraph where it reads “and was thought to be a contender to earn an academy award nomination. Ultimately that honor was not bestowed on the film, “it could have read “with possibilities of an academy award nomination, but ultimately it did not receive this honor”. Another possible change could be where it reads “but it’s popularity and ability to elevate the comic book film, which is rarely associated with quality storytelling, remain” could read “It is a rare quality of storytelling that has the ability to elevate the comic book film’s popularity the way this film did.” Moving onto the second paragraph, the main change needed is to eliminate the run-on sentence that takes up over half of the paragraph. This sentence should read “Specifically the films writer and director, Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Heath Ledger earned an academy award for his role as the Joker in this movie; sadly it wasn’t till after he had passed away. The Joker was one of Heath’s last roles and an excellent performance it was.” In the third paragraph instead of again listing the actors, the writer could have written; “While in most comic book movies the actors are not given any moments to showcase their acting abilities, this particular list of actors, while impressive, where able to showcase while excelling in their roles as well.” ......

Assignment 3: Parenting Practices over Generations

...You learned in your readings that parenting practices and techniques used to shape child development are influenced by many factors including culture, socioeconomic status, non-normative life events, and cohort effects. To understand cohort effects, consider that the experiences of a child growing up in the 1940s are different in many ways from a child growing up today. Read the article: Kotchick, B.A. & Forehand, R. (2002). Putting parenting in perspective: A discussion of the contextual factors that shape parenting practices. Journal of Child and Family Studies, 11(3), 255-269. http://www.thecampuscommon.com/library/ezproxy/ticketdemocs.asp?sch=auo&turl=http://search.proquest.com/docview/210500919 Synthesize what you learned in your readings as well as the above article to address the following: •Using the chart/table below, list at least 4 parenting practices of 3 generations. (Note: Parenting practices are not the same as parenting styles, which will be discussed later in the course). You can describe parenting practices of 3 generations of your family members, another family you interview, or general practices of generations based on research you find. For example, how did each generation address issues such as education, extracurricular activities, breastfeeding, sleeping arrangements, religious involvement, etc.? Include brief demographic information (e.g., sex, age, region of the country) Note: 3 different generations means 3 different time periods, not 3...

Early Education and Practice Assignment

...of the child- According to Flood and Hardy (2013) when adults are making decisions that affect the children, children have the right to say what they think should happen and their opinion should be valued. This will come into practice when planning activities in the ECCE setting. The child should have a say in what they would like to do, having child centred play is a great way to exercise this right. * Article 23: Children with disabilities- Unicef Canada argue that this right gives children with additional needs the opportunity to full educational services. Also it is important that any child with an additional need feels included in any ECCE setting that they may be attending. The feeling of belonging is vital for the social and emotional development of the child. These rights and many others have changed the lives of so many children and families. Children now have a say and will have a right of freedom of speech. Children first (2011) Children first is the national guide that promotes the protection of children from abuse and neglect. It states what organizations must do to keep children safe. It also describes what protocols should be taken if somebody is concerned about the general welfare of a child. It also highlights procedures and practices that should be in place in an organization working with children to safeguard them from abuse (dcya.gov.ie, 2015). It is very important that a child can feel safe and secure in the early care service so if any concerns......

Assignment on Engineering Materials (Glass)

...Assignment On Engineering Materials (Glass) Introduction Glass is a non-crystalline solid material. Glasses are typically brittle, and often optically transparent. The most prevalent type of glass, used for centuries in windows and drinking vessels, is soda-lime glass, made of about 75% silica (SiO2) plus Na2O, CaO, and several minor additives. Often, the term glass is used in a restricted sense to refer to this specific use. [pic] [pic]Roman Cage Cup from the 4th century A.D. In science, however, the term glass is usually defined in a much wider sense, including every solid that possesses a non-crystalline (i.e. amorphous) structure and that exhibits a glass transition when heated towards the liquid state. In this wider sense, glasses can be made of quite different classes of materials: metallic alloys, ionic melts, aqueous solutions, molecular liquids, and polymers. Of these, polymer glasses (acrylic glass, polyethylene terephthalate) are the most important; for many applications (bottles, eyewear) they are a lighter alternative to traditional silica glasses. Glasses play an essential role in science and industry. Their chemical, physical, and in particular optical properties make them suitable for applications such as flat glass, container glass, optics and optoelectronics material, laboratory equipment, thermal insulator (glass wool), reinforcement fiber (glass-reinforced plastic, glass fiber reinforced concrete), and glass art (art glass, studio glass). ...
