Acars Via Iridium

...ACARS via Iridium Iridium is a large satellite constellation that consists of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO), cross-linked satellites operating as a fully meshed network providing truly global coverage (including oceans, airways and polar regions). Iridium satellites are in a near-polar orbit at an altitude of 485 miles. The network is composed of 66 active satellites that fly in six orbital planes, each with 11 satellites per plane. Satellites circle the earth once every 100 minutes. ACARS is an Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System otherwise known as Digital DataLink System. ACARS was first developed in the 1970’s. It is a point-to-point service that either sends air-to-ground messages or receives ground-to-air messages from the cockpit. ACARS via Iridium now gives Flight Departments the capability to communicate with the aircraft in their fleet all over the globe. ACARS is now a viable option via Iridium. Until now ACARS was only available by 2 different mediums. ACARS via Very High Frequency (VHF) communication is only available through line of site. ACARS via Inmarsat (Satcom) is only available over the populated continents and does not provide communications over polar routes. The cost of Iridium service is far less than that of Satcom and is available over oceans whereas VHF is not. This allows aircraft to access various services provided by ACARS Service Providers. Aircraft can now send a number of automatic reports (OOOI, engine oil......

Car Comparation Via Hoq

...Requirements have been defined by the author of this work referring the author as the customer. The Costumer Requirements defined in this work are costumer requirements of the author acting as the costumer of the three systems. The author defined those requirements reading reports[ii] from the reference source. Those requirements were selected based on most as common requirements. 4.3 Engineering hypothesis of the analysis. The utilized hypothesis is the observation of the apparent correlation between the voice of engineering (Technical Requirements) and Voice of Costumer (Costumer requirement). It holds that, people who claim science expertise whilst advocating creationism tend to be dedicated to attend the customer requirements via science expertise evaluating the level of effort and difficult. This hypothesis does not address whether engineers tend to be creationists; however, it has been speculated that engineering predisposes people to a creation science. For the analysis of the systems the hypothesis utilized in this analyses will based on reserve engineering, getting each function or feature of the system analyzed and insert that as “manner” to attend the customer requirement. 4.4 AUDI S4 Sedan (2012) [pic] Figure 2 - Audi S4 2012[iii] By analysing the specification of car[iv] AUDI S4 Sedan and also the specialized press web sites[v], we were able to quantify and qualify the system analyzed. Identity Theft Via Cyberspace

...victims for financial gain. They open credit card accounts, they infiltrate bank accounts, use the information to apply for phone service or rent an apartment. They also steal identities to commit crimes and then give the false information to police if caught. With identity cloning, a thief steals someone’s identity to establish a new life. They receive medical treatment and the victim is left to foot the bill. They open credit card accounts or bank accounts in the name of a business and order merchandise and or obtain loans (Ramaswamy, 2006). With synthetic identity theft a thief takes information from several victims and combines it (Stroup, The 8 Types of Identity Theft, 2012). There are ways to protect yourself from identity theft via cyberspace. You can install reputable anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall programs on your computer, and update them periodically. Do not save your passwords, instead type them each time you access your accounts. Change passwords often and never leave your laptop open when unattended. Identity theft has been around for a long time. The first known case of identity theft is in the Bible, when Jacob disguised himself as his brother Esau to gain the blessing of the first born son from their father. In the early days of America identity theft mainly focused on voter registration. As time went on, identity theft took a turn to fake id’s to acquire alcoholic beverages for people under the drinking age (Stroup, A Brief History of......

Apple Devices Vulnerable to Attack Via Bogus Charger

...Apple devices vulnerable to attack via bogus charger IPhone 5 Any Apple device running the iOS operating system could be infected by the bogus charger Apple iPhones can be taken over with "alarming" ease using a custom-built charger, security researchers warn. Using the bogus charger, a team from Georgia Institute of Technology managed to infect a phone with a virus in less than a minute. Any device using Apple's iOS operating system would be as vulnerable to infection, claim the trio. More details of their work will be given at the upcoming Black Hat USA hacker conference. Computer control Brief details of the work were given in a summary of the talk the three researchers are scheduled to present at the hackers' get-together. The researchers, Billy Lau, Yeongjin Jang and Chengyu Song, said they were able to get around the many defences in iOS to install any software they wanted on a target device. "All users are affected, as our approach requires neither a jailbroken device nor user interaction," they wrote. The team created their malicious charger using a tiny bare-bones computer called a BeagleBoard that costs about £30 ($45). "This hardware was selected to demonstrate the ease with which innocent-looking, malicious USB chargers can be constructed," wrote the researchers in their conference summary. This computer on the BeagleBoard communicates with the target computer and carries out the attack that loads malicious software. The......

... Automated Cart (Controlled Via Android Phone) An Interfacing Design Application Presented to the College of Computer Engineering Saint Vincent’s College Dipolog City In Partial Fulfillment for the requirements of the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Designed by: Charlot Carreon Queenie Valdez Keomarie Canete Submitted to: Engr. Luthermie B. Manago CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION A cart is a small vehicle that feeds in gas to be operational. It is operated manually and can carry a maximum of two persons. It runs at a low speed and is ideal for strolling or for use when not in a hurry. Knowing these basic informations, the researchers have came up with the idea of using the cart as a basis for a design project. We wanted to upgrade the usual cart, and make it more advance, more interesting, and apply what we have learned in our field of study. As computer engineering students, we have decided that we will be using and implementing interfacing and android programming in this project. Disabled persons are those whom have incapabilities physically (either arms or legs). A number of people has this condition, and even such, is still visible in our locality rather than to stay at home. We understand their difficulties in means of transportation and safety, which lead to the creation of the Automated Cart (Controlled via Android Phone). MOTIVATION The motivation of the researchers in the......

Organizational Effectiveness Via Lean Thinking

...Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency via Lean Thinking Robert Moyler California Miramar University December 18, 2013 Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the lean thinking system across operational processes of organizations. This paper hopes to examine lean thinking methods and some alternative approaches to discovering the most effective process and best practices for efficiency across multiple layers of any organization as it transforms raw materials into a finished product. In addition, this paper will explore how senior level executives can deploy lean thinking systems across its operations and internal processes to drive end profits and increase margins for an organization. Through articles, research, and evaluating previous studies to define and determine the best lean thinking to produce a strong value oriented product or service that produces positive financial results. This in turn, will create an effective yet efficient atmosphere that is all encompassing benefiting the organization, consumers, and the environment in which the organization is apart of. Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency via Lean Thinking Introduction Due to turbulent economic times and stronger competitive forces in the market place, it has become increasingly harder for firms or organizations to operate effectively and efficiently in the era we live in today. For this reason, this paper weighs heavily on lean thinking systems to arrive at effective and......

Pay Via Smartphones

...PAY VIA SMARTPHONES Introduction It has been sixty years since the creation of the plastic credit card. The mobile phone technology finally brought the biggest revolution in the world of digital payments by introducing contactless mobile phone payment system, which is all set to create new trend in the consumer’s world. We can now use smart phones as mobile wallet to make payments for goods and services bought from the market. Contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) Much of the mobile payments activity centers on a technology called Near Field Communication, or NFC. Near Field Communication (NFC) is used mostly in paying for purchases made in physical stores or transportation services. An NFC chip built into the phone (or added to it via a micro SD slot or a carrying case) communicates with a credit-card terminal over a distance of less than two inches. Most transactions don’t require authentication, but certain require authentication using PIN, before transaction is completed. The payment could be deducted from pre-paid account or charged to mobile or bank account directly. Implementation of NFC in Asia and Europe NFC vendors in Japan are closely related to mass-transit networks, like the Mobile Suica used on the JR East rail network. Osaifu-Keitai system, used for Mobile Suica and many others including Edy and nanaco, has become the de-facto standard method for mobile payments in Japan. Its core technology, Mobile FeliCa IC, is partially owned by Sony, NTT...

Through Silicon-Via (Tsv) Technology

...Through Silicon-Via (TSV) Technology Abstract Increasing demands for electronic devices with superior performance and functionality with longer battery life while reducing their sizes, weights and energy consumption has driven the semiconductor industry to develop more advanced packaging technologies. Among all different types of packaging technologies proposed, three-dimensional (3D) vertical integration (3D stacking of chips) using through silicon via (TSV) copper interconnect is currently considered one of the most advanced technologies in the semiconductor industry. The co-efficient of thermal expansion of copper is 5-6 times more than that of silicon. This leads to thermal stresses in the via. These stresses are analyzed in this paper. Also, these stresses lead to a change in carrier mobility. This leads to formation of keep out zones (KOZ) in surrounding silicon. The various factors affecting the size of the KOZs are also considered. 1 1 Introduction A via (Latin for path or way) is an electrical connection between layers in a physical electronic circuit that goes through the plane of one or more adjacent layers. A through-silicon via (TSV) is a vertical electrical connection (via) passing completely through a silicon wafer or die. This is an interconnection method in which holes are drilled through active chips, after which they are filled with an interconnect material. Different tiers of chips are then stacked on each other by......

The Communion of Humans and God Via Food

...strength and bolster our ties with God. Whenever I follow religious instruction, whether Catholic or Jewish, I undoubtedly feel holier within the religious sector and also believe God acknowledges my good deeds. Thus, by maintaining a kosher-style diet for three days, I felt a sense of devotion and surrender to Jewish wisdom. My experience as kosher-style Catholic has been positive. I hope to educate my religious community about the intimate, multifaceted rules of kashrut. I encourage my friends and family to immerse themselves in other traditions, such as kosher-style, so that they too can learn about the imbedded values and relationships behind food. Diane McGee, in Writing the Meal, investigates several relationships that are created via food. One relationship that she emphasizes is what is considered edible versus what is considered inedible. This distinction was extremely important for my kosher-style food practice as cultural decrees tended to reign over my food choices. Many of the foods that I avoided were perfectly edible from a biological standpoint, but were inedible from a religious perspective. Humans are taught, in the early stages of life, which foods are acceptable depending on the group to which he or she belongs. “The choice of what is acceptable to eat plays a major role in defining the culture—whether of a nation, a tribe, a class, or a family” (McGee, 15). Kashrut tendencies work simultaneously to reinforce and transmit the identity of Judaism. Since I......

Critically Assess the Via Negativa as a Means of Knowing God

...Critically assess the Via Negativa as a means of knowing God In the Christian tradition, the via negativa (apophatic theology) refers to a way of speaking about God and his attributes through the way of the negative. Because God is beyond our capacity as human beings to comprehend, anything we can say of him is necessarily limited by our finite human understanding and his reality far surpasses our power of expression through our anthropocentric languages. It suggests that the closest way we can get to describing him is by saying what he is not, rather than what he is. We therefore can come to know God better through meditating on how much greater he is than anything we can conceive for as St. Thomas said: “This is the ultimate in human knowledge of God: to know that we do not know Him”. According to this way, we use words like “infinite,” “incorporeal”, “immutable,” and “ineffable” to describe God. Even to call God “perfect,” says St. Thomas, we do by way of negation, because we understand perfection as “lacking nothing.” Moses Maimonides believed that when it came to directly describing God’s nature, “silence is the best praise” and that even the Torah was an imperfect source for describing God as any descriptions are carried out using human language (“The Torah was written by the sons of men”). However he understood human need to describe and explain the characteristics of God, which he felt was impossible to do in a meaningful way; And so he suggested that we demonstrate......
