Analyzing Online and Traditional Education
Technology is a big part of our everyday lives and has changed the modern world and the way we socialize. Online education has helped various groups of individuals have access to an education. It gives an alternate option to the traditional route of education which is economically practical. It also offers a vast range of learning experiences for job development.
Online education costs less than the traditional education. Online schools provide all of the study materials needed, which the costs are cheaper than the textbooks. In addition, students do not have to worry about geographical restrictions to enroll. The students can choose to enroll into any academic institution that offers an online program suitable to the student’s needs while staying in the comfort of their homes. They can save on costs incurred from transportation, board and lodgings. Learning takes place online through print communication, teleconferencing, electronic mail, forum discussion and instructional multimedia. ...disturbances and habitat fragmentation. -Oil spills are killing off wildlife and threatening the tundra’s ecosystem. -Building and roads are putting heat and pressure on the permafrost causing it to melt -Invasive species are pushing aside the native vegetation reducing the diversity of plant coverage. The tundra is one of the world’s youngest biomes, formed only 10,000 years ago. Tundra comes from the Finnish word “tunturia”. It means barren land. Because the ground is permanently frozen trees cannot take root and grow there. When the snow and tops layers thaw it is soggy with marshes, streams, lakes, and rivers. It supports low growing plants such as moss and grass. Its main seasons are winter and summer. In the winter it is dark for weeks at a time and in the summer the sun will shine for 24 hours a day. It is very windy with low amounts of precipitation. Forty-Eight different species of land mammals live among the tundra. It is a fragile environment with frigid temperatures that make survival difficult. The plants and animals living there made adaptations to survive the long winters and short summers. The smallest of stresses in this environment could bring about its destruction. References Simon, E. J., Reece, J. B., & Dickey, J. L. Week 9 Assignment Com/155

...Week 9 Assignment Com/155 2. My final assignment in Com/155 is to analyze two paragraphs, written by two unknown writers; I chose paragraphs three and four. In each individual paragraph, the writers’ attention is on informing the reader about the various processes associated with credit. In paragraph three, the writer began his or her text, by giving examples as to why a person is not eligible for credit. It further explains in the text that upon denial, you would receive a letter from the Fair Credit Reporting Act, documenting the terms of its refusal. Paragraph four opened up by acknowledging that most consumers understand the security and stability of a good credit score; the text further explained the process involved in calculating a credit rating. The writer of paragraph three, style of writing appeared choppy and fragmented; the writer was very repetitious in his or her use of words. Paragraph four lacked the necessary purpose to support the content with in the text. Both paragraphs were affective in there individual ideas, of informing the reader about the do and do not, in regards to obtaining and maintaining credit; still there were some unanswered questions. Paragraph three is the more informative of the two, having purpose, giving examples of why one is denied credit, and content, informing you on the......

I choose this topic because this is the age group that I would like to work with once I obtain my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child Development, and I also find children in this age group to be very interesting especially on the way they view life around them and how independent they become. The Stages of Development: Cognitive Development: Language begins to develop rapidly, also children begin to use language as their communication tool and their vocabulary increases tremendously. Physical Development: Each skill that the child already has is practiced and becomes perfected. Therefore at this stage the child applies and develops mastery motor skills in challenging situations they are faced with. Social Development: At this age and in this stage the child will begin to learn the concept of right from wrong. Week 9 Final Paper

...these past nine weeks I have learned so much that I have truly changed as a person to try not to be prejudice towards others. In the past honestly I was very prejudice towards others just by their looks. There are many ways that diversity means for things in the world. So many things are different in the world, but that doesn’t mean we need to be prejudice about things or people. The things I have learned about my own racial, ethnic, and cultural history is that race doesn’t matter. I know that whites use to be the most popular race in the world but that has changed a lot in the last century. Whites are now the third most popular race in the world. For ethnic there are many different groups in my race. Groups like Christians in my race many people are Christians so they are considered an ethnic group. Things I have learned about ethnics are that there are so many different types of groups in the world. They don’t need to be judged or criticized. There are many ethnics about Americans. Cultural history in my race is things that have shaped the world today. Americans have come a very long way in life. They have shaped this world to what it is today. It is a strong nation, one that is always going to fight for their country. A new report from the Pew Research Center projects that immigration will propel the U.S. population total to 438 million by the year 2050. Right now we are at 303 million and the year 2014. As I have been researching over the past eight weeks about......

Week 9 Final Acc/290

...Week 9 Final Kim Rosnik 6-21-15 Over the course of our semester, we have went over many different aspects that deal with accounting. In week 4 we had to pick a company and look at the public assets that they have and describe them per the questions that were required. For the final we have to add to the paper by answering more questions about the same company. The company that I have chosen from is still General Motors. However, we will be focusing more on the assets of the company rather than sales and company worth. We will be analyzing the company’s assets and liabilities. We will then look at these and decipher if the company would be a good investment for private investors, banks, and employees. Taking a look at the GM’s assets I can see that the company has listed their assets in the right order. A company should list their assets in this order; cash & cash equivalents, stocks and investments, accounts receivable through services, Inventory, and fixed assets. GM has listed their cash & cash equivalents first, as of March 31, 2015, as 17,190,000. They then list their Short term Investments as 8,409,000. Next are net receivables as 37,400,000. Inventory is 14,051,000. Lastly is other assets and this shows as 6,181,000. This totals to the amount of 83,231,000 in total assets. While liquid assets play a huge role, classification of the assets play a huge role as well. The classifications of assets are as follows; current, investments,......

...in fat, cholesterol, sodium and are all horrible for your body. I learned of different diseases that can be obtained from eating at an unclean and unsanitary restaurant which has also helped steered me away from eating at them. I like cooking at home since I am in control of how it is prepared and know the area that I am cooking in is clean. I have also increased my water intake to drinking half of my body weight in ounces and totally eliminating the unhealthy beverages I was drinking. My level of exercise was pretty much zero outside of work, and I have no excuse for it other than flat out being lazy. I work at a job that provides discounted gym member ships so I have purchased a membership and I am now taking a spin class four days a week. I have changed from zero exercise to now walking two miles a day and spending an hour in each spin class this has helped increase my cardio, while working my arms, legs, and stomach muscles. At first the walking was difficult. I would walk for 30 minutes and I would be ready to sit down. I pushed myself each day and now I feel really good and want to start jogging two miles rather than walking. In the last two years I gained approximately 55 pounds due to my lack of exercise and unhealthy eating. So far during this course I have lost 23 pounds all due to changing my eating habits and exercises. My level of energy is through the roof compared to what it was. One thing I did not do in the past dieting and exercising is insure I have......
